Question: truck driver ??? what kind of food would you pack for a lunch for a truck driver....it would have to be easy to eat since he would probably be driving and filling. He is sometimes gone for 16 hours and is starving but he gets food out which is really expensive to do all week. so any ideas would be appreciated.
Answer: I'm also a truck drivers wife and this is what I do.
I make my husband chicken salad sandwich's but not to much mayo because it can make the sandwich soggy and he will not be able to hold on to it while he is driving. I fix any type of sandwich,I just don't cut it up for him because they can hold on to it better if it's not cut up.I buy small bags of chips and whole fruit, but not fruits that are real juicy because it can slip out there hands. You can even get some boneless/skinless chicken breast and fry them just in butter and seasons and make a sandwich out of that, have poultry seasoning as one of the seasonings you put on the chicken,it is killer. Here's a tip for you,Truck drivers can eat any thing that you put in a cup, cause they can hold that cup and the steering wheel at the same time, yes even with foods that needs a spoon to eat it with.My husband and I have been on the road for 15 years, but now I stay at home and when I fix him breakfast, sometimes I cook a fried bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and wrap it intin foil,or sometimes I cook bacon, eggs, grits,or pancakes and bacon,or biscuit with gravy and all I do is shred the biscuit or pancakes and put it in a styro cup with a lid and he's on his way. As far as the sandwich's go put them in a zip lock bag and put that in a container with a lid and put in a cooler with ice in it.Buy him drinks like power-aid to put in the cooler also.I hope this gives you some kind of ideas and will help you. Keep on a rolling them 18 wheels and may your hubby be safe where ever he goes 10-4

Question: How much does the average truck driver make in a year? I just wanted to find out if being a truck driver is a good job, and plus whats a good company to work for?
Answer: It all depends on what type of driving you want's to do.
If you do over the road hauls, which is multiple day trips, you can make very good money.
If you do only day trips you can make deciend money if you find a good company to work for.
A lot also depends on how they pay, some companys pay per mile, and some by the hour.
But either way it's long hours, and the chance of being away from home for a while. It's not for everyone.
The average truck in the United States travels an average of 64,200 miles per year, the equivalent of driving almost two and a half times around the world.
The average trip for trucks is about 420 miles one way.

Question: Will my employment history as a truck driver matter when I start looking for a job as a software developer? *I am taking classes online.

OTR Truck Driver
I would really like to start working for a local company so that I can be home more often but I am concerned that when I finish my Bachelors degree next summer that no one will want to hire me because I have switched jobs too many times.
What do you think about this? Will moving to one final truck driving job make a difference in whether or not I can get hired as a software developer?
Answer: You got this all wrong---for the last 5 years you have been Employed heary equp and TD. Bosses know you need money and your consistency is in your favor....OK--take another job driviing.. . I am more concerned about your living habits... I just hope you are not a smoker??? I have seen drivers pop cigaretts in there mouth like life savers... When you climb down out of the tractor for the last time... Smoking stops--wife smokes she stops....There over...Smokers don't understand how nasty and smelly tobacco stinks...No one will want to work with you --- clothes smell bad--- breath is nasty --- just by walking into a building you seriously stink it up...Now were talking where the rubber meets the road... I'm Air Force and your Army--there isn't anything that I would do to keep one winey 2nd Lieutenant from getting the job before you... Smoking is serious and a spit cup is totally insane....One other thing is if your outside smoking and they need you---NOT Good... There is a lot of people looking and you want everything --- everythiing to your advantage... Clean up the trucker talk... ..

But the tow truck driver was still able to get into it and shift the transmission into park without setting off the alarm and without the key. How did he do this?
As far as I know the alarm is automatically turned on when I lock the doors. I have no other way of turning the alarm on. Also, I meant to say that he shifted the transmission 'out of park' not 'into park'.
