Question: How many greenbay packer games were broadcasted locally in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area last season? A coworker and I are wondering how many of the Green Bay Packer games were broadcasted in the Portland Metropolitan area. She argues that very few games were on the local channels, and I believe that more than half were on the local networks.
Answer: Well, at least when they played the Seahawks it was, for sure. So, that's at least two games (one regular season, one playoff).
Question: How can we best explain to Packer fans that there is no crying in football? I posted a perfectly reasonable question yesterday about the latest Favre watch and it got deleted. I could never have fathomed a football question getting deleted. So, how can we explain to Packer fans that there is no crying in football and questions about Favre and his behavior should be allowed?
Answer: i can't agree with you more. the community guide liners are communist
Question: How do you feel about Billy Packer not returning to do CBS Basketball? They're going to shake up the March Madness booth next season , supposedly Clark Kellogg is going to take over Packer's spot.
Packer has done NCAA tournament games with Nantz for a damn long time. He's been with him for a lot of Final Fours too. It'll be weird having him out of the booth. In addition , everyone always seemed to hate on him for some perceived bias he had which I NEVER detected. Oh well. Goodbye icon.
Your thoughts on this.
Answer: I think Clark Kellogg will do a fine job.
Question: How does an automated bottling line case packer senses the case is full? I was wondering how a bottling line that uses an automated case packer sense if the case is full. And what kind of PLC input is this?
The only thing I can think of is weight, but any other ideals I would like to hear.
Thanks
Answer: Hello Coolpick,
Weight is right, They could put a counter on the
gizmo that drops down to place the bottles, or use
a light Sensor to register to a counter, but usually
it is weight that triggers it all. Some of these
are very sensitive. It also helps to have an inspector
at the end of the line.
Question: How do you plan on dealing with the Billy Packer plague that is soon to grip this nation? March is right around the corner, and we all know what that means... the Billy Packer plague will be infesting us once more. I say we stuff a dirty sock in his mouth to shut him up.
Answer: Man, you speak the truth! It's bad enough that you've got to listen to him on CBS through the reg. season and you can't turn to ESPN because, of Dick Vitale's Duke lovin' mouth. Both of those guys really tick me off! College basketball would be better off if they didn't have guys like them commentating games especially, when they have NO idea what they're talking about. There is a reason why neither was successful in basketball and coaching, they both weren't any good! So, what makes the producers for CBS and ESPN think that they would make great commentators? They must be idiots.
Question: Hey Packer fans? How are you all feeling about the Brett Favre-Packer issue in the news? I am not a football fan, but I live in a state that is considered a rival for Green Bay. My experience is that Packer Fans are very committed to their team and it's players.
What are your opinions on the issues in the news about Brett Favre asking to be released or traded? Just wondering, because it seems like theirs is the only perspective not reported on.
Answer: You know what I'm a die hard packer fan and I personally want to get on with the show lets get over Favre say good bye and look forward too a new era! GO PACK GO.
Question: How can the Green Bay Packer games sellout? The city of Green Bay has a population of less than 200,000 but yet the stadium has sold out tickets to every game since Brett Favre was a Packer. Houston Texans haven't had a ticket sellout since they were the Oilers. What the hell, why can't I get tickets?
Answer: the Packers have great tradition, even without Brett Favre. they have a long and proud history, so people have grown up hearing about them for generations. plus they are the only pro team in town. the Texans don't sell out games because the team hasn't won anything yet. the franchise is barely a decade old. Houston has the Rockets and Astros that are more successful.
Question: What do you think the Packer's should do about Brett and Rodgers. This one to lets you get your opinion out. Should the Packers start Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers. Have reasoning why. What do you think about General Manager Ted Thompson, President Mike Murphey, or Coach Mike McCarthy. Is the Media afecting the minds of the Packer Nation like the presidential race. What about these tampering charges on minesota. The longer the better but dont write about nonsense. No Swearing or you will not be my choice. This is a good one to really get your opinion out.
Answer: 1. Start Brett Favre in Green Bay for the next three years
2. Fire Ted Thompson (and maybe Mark Murphy)
3. Trade Aaron Rodgers within the next year or two
As for the tampering, what tampering? Brett Favre never had a team phone. I think it is possible that Favre might have called his former mentor, the offensive coordinator in Minnesota. But how is that different from him calling Steve Mariucci or Mike Holmgrem? If Favre called Holmgrem, would they file tampering charges then? Favre has called Holmgrem in the past. Favre has definitely called Mariucci even during this recent debate. What if Mariucci got a coaching offer for a team? Packers GM Ted Thompson is showing his true colors again by lying to everyone. How many times is Thompson going to lie before people start to realize that Favre is not to blame for the mess in Packerland?
There is a problem in Green Bay. We all know this. Forget all this other nonsense.
Here is the very easy solution:
Start Brett Favre. It is that simple. Do it for the team. Do it for the league. Do it for the fans everywhere. Do it soon!
Ted Thompson is so enamored with his own ego and imaginary legacy that he can't get past the simple truth. Green Bay will not win without Brett Favre. Mark Murphy is not very smart either. His comments have been shady at times. I did not like him when Green Bay selected him to be President of the organization. And my misgivings may turn out to be correct. When he stated that it was sad that a player goes out disgracefully like Favre and his ability is going, but then in the same breath says that Favre had one of his best seasons last year, I just shook my head. Come on, Murphy, you can't contradict yourself like that. Murphy should see the truth behind Thompson's lies. I'm losing respect for all of Green Bay's staff.
The sad fact that most fans seem not to see the truth about Favre and the Packers disturbs me. This underlies the problem that America has with much of how it goes about making choices with anything. In the case of Favre, you have a player that gives his heart and soul to the game and to his team. He played through more pain, mental, physical and emotional than anyone that I know of. He overcame addiction to pain medication and alcohol. He dealt with his father's death and played in a "I can't believe it" Monday Night game. He supported his wife through her ordeal with breast cancer. He suffered as his family lost their home during Hurricane Katrina. He lost his Brother-in-Law. And through all of this, he played the game he loves. Who can give more than Favre has to the NFL? Who can give more to a franchise and to the fans? HE LOVES THIS SPORT! Why do people call him selfish?
Then you have Ted Thompson who has been repeatedly pushing Favre away since 2004. Ted Thompson, who has wanted, for selfish reasons, to start his own legacy. He stared at #4 with devilish eyes, jealous of his fame. Ted Thompson wants a legacy. So Thompson cleared out the Packers players. He dumped all the talent and loaded up the roster with young players.
Remember that the Packers were a winning franchise BEFORE Thompson took over. The Packers had won back to back to back NFC North championships BEFORE Thompson got the job in 2004. The Packers were the 2002, 2003, and 2004 NFC North Champions.
When Ted Thompson took over, he broke up the best offensive line in the league. This led to discontinuity on the offense in 2005. There was a rash of injuries, the worst I have ever seen. Favre had no RB or WR at all. He had no one to throw to or hand off to. They were picking up people to play that no one had heard of. It was remarkable that Favre even made it through the season, let alone put up any kind of numbers at all.
It is no wonder that 2005 turned out to be a disastrous 4-12 year. It was Ted Thompson's fault, but Mike Sherman took the fall. And many people pointed the finger at Favre as well saying that he was getting too old to play.
As Thompson started tossing veterans, the team eventually got healthier. Favre regained some continuity with the team. Favre learned the system and gained confidence with McCarthy, the new coach. Favre brought the team back. Favre took the team and made them better than they actually are without him. And with Favre, they nearly won a title last year.
And who gets the credit? Thompson. Sad.
Some people say they are sick of Brett Favre saying he will or will not retire year after year. Favre should not put his team through this all the time. The team should just move on because Favre has been so awful. But can you blame Favre after what Thompson has put him through all these years? When Favre first suggested that he might retire, everyone was stunned. Why would Favre even think such a thing? When asked, Favre replied that it depends if the Packers want him back, a line he has restated over the years. That says a lot about where the relationship between Favre and Thompson was WAY back then. This mess was a long time coming.
And now, near the end of that relationship, people don't see the whole truth and turn on the one person who is true to the game, Favre. There is nothing more sad in all of sports than this. Soon Favre will be gone and where will Thompson be? He'll be in Green Bay, stuck in the bed he made for himself. Mark my words. Thomspon will be regarded as one of the worst GMs in history. Green Bay will suffer for years once Favre is truly gone. At least they will until Thompson is fired.
But time will tell the tale. Once Favre is gone, Ted Thompson's choices (bad drafts and off-season moves) will continue to hurt the team. Without Favre to bail them out, there will be nothing left for the Packers.
Those who are currently sick of the Brett Favre's "antics" will wonder what went wrong.
My only answer to you is...learn. Try to watch and see the whole picture if you can. Do this not just in sports but in life as well.
Question: What is a good fantasy football name for a packer fan? I was thinking Packer Backers, how is that. What can you think of?
Answer: cheeseheads
Question: Why are there so many Packer bars throughout the nation? I travel a lot for business and it seems every major city I go to has a Packer bar.
Why don't other teams have bars like this in random cities?
Answer: Football and Drinking go hand in hand, and nobody does that better than Green Bay. Their tailgating is great, almost a college enviornment. Green Bay fans want to gather together for a drink and football.
