Answer: Specialist is not an entry level position. First you get experience being an ordinary * inventory clerk and/or * inventory control hands on couunting person In the first instance, you are pretty good with computer keyboard ... NOT hunt & peck and you know how to work the software ... if OOPS I made a mistake ... you know how to fix it You also have good logic ... let's assume we made a keying error ... we can check what the inventory SHOULD be, and correct that ... but how do we find the bad entry that went in to the wrong item? ... let's suppose SOMEONE ELSE made a keying error, how do you catch that? If you doing the hands on job --------------------------------------… you better have good eyesight, not color blind you have to be precise in your counting ... a photographic memory helps Do you know how to operate bar code wand ... do you know how to fix it when it is broke ... do you know how to tell when it is broke your handwriting had better be legible to other people ... otherwise this is not a good career path for you there is also logic Suppose you have a bunch of widgets to count that are practically microscopic in size, and they are in a container ... you can weigh an empty container, you can count out a quantity like 100 and weight that ... so now you weigh container of what must be thousands ... subtract weight of an empty container, divide by what 100 weighs ... does this make sense to you? If you are clueless about what I am talking about, then inventory control is not a good career choice for you. Beyond this, there is troubleshooting. What you trying to avoid. Someone sees something wrong OHMIGOD HOW DID THAT HAPPEN You got one upset worker who shows it to another now you got several upset workers Upset workers are more likely to make mistakes than workers just doing the job they know how to do So the process of finding & fixing errors needs to be such that you do not add to people's stress or upset levels

Answer: A number of energy consulting firms can prepare such inventories. Question: What is the job of a RGIS inventory specialist like? I came across a job opening for RGIS on the Internet. I currently have a part time job, but I need to work extra hours. Does anybody have experience with this company? I don't mind working graveyard shifts, but are you allowed to choose what shifts you want to work, and are you allowed to say yes or no when your called in? Do you have to work major holidays? My other part time job requires me to work on holidays during the morning sometimes, so I would have to work mainly night shifts. What time do graveyard shifts start? Can I choose to work locally, or will I have to travel long distances, like maybe 2hrs? Do you travel in a company vehicle, or do you have to get to a store in your own car and pay for gas? I have a lot of questions, because I don't know who to talk to about it, so if anyone has worked there before, or knows about them, or has a website they can give me, that would be helpful?

Answer: you could work all over the place. could be one l=mile form your house, could be 25 miles form your house.. you could get 10 hours per week, the next week you could get 48 hours, the week after that you could get 20 hours, get it. nope you have to provide your own transportation. I belive they allow you to select your own shifts.

Question: i got a feud with rgis inventory specialists did you know their policies? i work for about 10 yrs with the number one company of inventories in the world rgis, they pay miserable and lied a lot, its common for big companies do that

Answer: I don't know about their policies but I do know that a company I worked for used RGIS once and wound up firing them after the inventory count was totally screwed up. We went with a smaller inventory firm and they got it right. Sometimes being number one isn't enough.

Question: How can I create a report inventory database in Acess to log the various reports we deliver to our customers? I am creating an access db to log the ad hoc and other types of reports. I want to lists the customers names, id and their locations. Other fields would include the frequency, report specialist, report #, the report category and it's description. I want to be able to create a form that would allow me to update the tables and create access reports. I have not been able to get much help on other forums, so I am most anxious to get this project completed. .
