Question: Car FLEET MANAGER? I was wondering how i can contact a car fleet manager in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada region?.... Basically how do i get a car very cheap my friend said if i contact a fleet manager they'll negotiate an unreal price for a new vehicle in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area... or maybe in the United States and go pick it up?...
Answer: Yes its certainly possible. Your friend is right. But there is a BIG BUT you have to do this the right way. You can't just go in and expect an unreal price from the fleet manager. For a Hot selling vehicle you won't get a dirt cheap rate at all. Sometimes for smaller dealers, there is no Fleet Manager. Point is be realistic.
Having said that, I have bought vehicles for my personal use. And each time I did buy from the Fleet manager. My price ranged from $500 bellow invoice to $2500 bellow invoice. Here's one way you can go about this.
Find out at least 4 -5 Dealers for the car you want to buy. You can get their names & Phone Numbers from the Auto Maker's website. Call up their Board number and ask to be connected to the Fleet manager or Internet Manager. Or you may ask for their name and extension.
With that information, you may choose to ask point blank but with due politeness that you are interested in such and such car. You are requesting price quote from very few dealers. Will he be kind enough to give a price quote on the same ?
Usually if you are polite and to the point, you will get immediate answer. Make sure you wait on the line while he gathers the numbers or looks to see if that configuration is on the lot. It would help if you can look up a Lot number in his inventory beforehand.
If you need more information on doing this right way or a Step by Step guide, then please visit.

Buy their package ($37 or so) for the vehicle you have in mind. If you are buying $17000 to $20000 car, $37 is peanuts. Best money ever spent.
Question: Cars: Do fleet/internet manager make commission? Also, do most of them still haggle on the price of autos?
Answer: Most fleet and internet salespeople do make a comission. However, unlike the floor people, fleet and internet are usually paid a flat dollar amount per car sold. Floor people are paid a percentage of the profit on the sale.
Fleet and internet people usually just give you a blowout figure. If you want the car, here is the bst I can do. If you want it, great. If not, the next guy to call will. Fleet guys especially are used to dealing in volume. So tey prefer to "cut to the chase" - give a best price, and move on
Question: Where can I get a list of all fleet owners contact ,phone number and number of vehicles? I need a list of all fleet managers, phone numbers, total number of vehicles and their addresses
Answer: I think you are asking for a lot of personal (or corporate) information. No one will give that easily.
Question: What is a Fleet Manager?
Answer: A person who is incharge of either sales of fleet vehicles or a persone who is incharge of a fleet for a company. If its sales he is the person you go to when you buy 15 ford taurses for your insurance company etc... or trucks for a business....
Question: doz anybody know the manager of the ye olde cheshire cheese in fleet street, london?
Answer: I have no idea but had to let you know you Brits are so clever with those funny names. I just love it.
Question: is it safe to purchase a car through a broker? and then a fleet manager at dealer shop
is there possibility some of the cars sold that way are defective?
if the car was a brand new??
Answer: It depends on the broker...
Although if it is a new car, the risk is small. The broker is merely do the shopping for you, contacting the fleet managers at different dealerships and hopefully finding the car you want at a good price. You are still purchasing the car directly from the franchise dealership, so you should be protected by state law and the manufacturer if the car turns out to be a lemon.
Full disclosure: I am a dealer/broker in the Bay Area/CA. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions
Question: Can I get another job in transportation if i have a non compete agreement with last job as account manager? I worked as an account manager for a third party logistics company for 5 years. During those 5 years, I inherited small accounts that I made profitable, cold called for accounts that were profitable, and earned referalls thru these methods where I became very successful and earned great money as a commissioned employee. I was terminated back in January and have a job that doesnt pay near what I was making then. It says I cant go to work with another third party logistics company or even a trucking company and shipper that we have never done business with. I think this is way too stern and feel that even if I am not in sales on the brokerage side and want to be a fleet manager or do dispatch, I should be able to. This is causing me to not make what I should. I have been doing this job since college, and really want to keep these skills and still stay in the transportation business in some way. Can someone who has experience in this matter please please advise me.I am calling lawyer asap
Range is Nationwide. Time is 18 Months. What I am asking is cant I get a different type of job that is in transportation, where I wont be in sales with customers?
Answer: If you were terminated and you were paid a rather large stipend as a severence, there may be a non compete clause. However, if the company paid only what the commission you earned was worth, I would contact that lawyer quickly, if not sooner.

Question: outline the challenges you would face as a public sector account manager in the car leasing business? I am interested in the areas of account management, new business development and Target achievement in the public sector fleets.
Answer: Main one is competition
Question: whats the best way to buy a new car? my buddy tells me to go straight to the fleet manager and bypass the salesman.
Answer: dale b has it right, the 'fleet manager" is just a salesman who has sold to companies, they dont sell the cars any cheaper. As he said all dealers pay the same amount for the cars, no one dealer or person at a dealership has that magical deal that is the best.
The easiest way to get a great deal is to go through the "internet sales manager". despite the title this is also pretty much a regular salesperson, however they will usually give you a really good price upfront, and are much easier to work with than the old school negotiating of regular salespeople. Just go on a couple dealers websites, search for the car you want. On the page with the car you want there will be a "get a qoute" button or something similar, just fill out the info (name, email, phone). The Internet manager will call and/or email you. If they are any good it will be pretty fast as well, within 30 min, just tell them what you want. If they are any good you should be able to have the price and everything set before you ever go to the dealership.
Question: Tinted windows and new wheels or a new paint job? So I'm about to buy a new car and I was just given a pretty amazing deal. I'm getting a 2007 Pontaic Vibe "lay off the making fun of the car, I need good MPG" and I was given the option of either getting free tinted windows and new upgraded chrome wheels, or a new paintjob. The reason for the paint job? The car is in red and I don't really like it that way. My payments are $219 a month and 0% APR for the next 72 months and they knocked it from $20 K to $14 K. My dad is the fleet manager so they are hookin me up. What do you think I should do? I wanted the car in Black or Dark Grey...
Yeah they are going to paint everything under the hood. There's really not too much red under the hood so that's not the problem. Why don't I get the Black and Dark Grey? Because those are easier to sell for the dealership and they can just leave it at the MSRP price since they are pretty inexpensive cars anyways. As far as the title, doesn't say red on the title so that's not a problem either. I'm just trying to see what's cheaper for me cause a good paintjob would cost 12 hundred or a little less but tinted windows are like $200
Again...it's a BRAND NEW car, not a new one. And like I said, they can't really sell it Red because no one likes i guess. I drove the car today and it was perfect.
Again...it's a BRAND NEW car, not a used one. And like I said, they can't really sell it Red because no one likes i guess. I drove the car today and it was perfect.
Answer: Are they gonna paint the "whole" car like inside the engine bay? Otherwise, I'd keep the factory red paint and get the tint and rims.
Question: Im looking for Police products salesman, My market items new and unique.? The people involved should have Fleet management experience, either in Major dept or medium size departments. However I'm certainly not slamming the door on qualified small department FLeet managers.

Question: Should I get him an engraved pen for valentines? I was thinking of giving my boyfriend a real nice engraved pen, he's a fleet manager @ a car dealership, but I'm not sure if its an appropriate gift or if its just too little..? I'm lookin to spend $150 for a nice one and engraving is only 15-20bucks. I need a gift for our 2yr anniversary which is the 13th and valentines day. but at the same time I'm worried he might lose it? couldn't think of anything else, got him everything hes wanted, any ideas??
we both work, so we wouldn't be able to find time to do any type of activities.
Also he has 2watches already, has neckalace, suits, shoes, ring, Wii, a decent wallet.. business card holder, caps.. wanted to buy him Rims for his bmw but he wouldn't accept
Answer: I used to work for a car dealer, and those guys go goo-goo for the bling! Spend a little more and get him a Mont Blanc pen, engraved or not! He'll love it! And if he doent, he may not know what kind it is. Just give it about a week or so, and he'll be thanking you for it. It's all about the status.
Question: Did you know the government must give us access to their vehicles? Use of Federal Government Motor Vehicles
The General Services Administration (GSA) is responsible for developing the policies and procedures contributing to improved management and enhanced performance of motor vehicle fleets operated by federal agencies. The management and use of motor vehicles owned and leased by the Federal government are regulated by the Federal Management Regulation (FMR) Part 102-34, entitled "Motor Vehicle Management" and FMR Part 102-5, entitled "Home-to-Work Transportation." Each agency has a Fleet Manager responsible for your agency’s motor vehicle fleet policy. A list of agency Fleet Managers is located on GSA’s website at www.gsa.gov/vehiclepolicy. Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding Government motor vehicles.
1. May I use a Government motor vehicle?
A Government vehicle may be used for official purposes to perform your agency’s mission, as authorized by your agency (see FMR § 102-34.220). Any incidental use of a Government vehicle must be authorized by each agency.
You may not use a Government vehicle for transportation between your residence and place of employment unless that transportation has been approved in writing by your agency head (see FMR § 102-34.225). The agency head may not delegate this authority (see FMR § 102-5.40).
Your agency is responsible for making the determination to authorize non-Federal individuals to accompany you in a Government vehicle.
If an employee willfully uses, or authorizes the use of, a motor vehicle for other than official purposes, the employee is subject to suspension of at least one month or, up to and including, removal by the head of the agency (see FMR § 102-34.240).
2. How do I obtain a motor vehicle?
You must limit the motor vehicle body size, engine size, and optional equipment to what is essential to meet your agency’s mission. In general, with the exception of motor vehicles used by the President and Vice President and motor vehicles for security and highly essential needs, you must purchase or lease midsize (class III) or smaller sedans (see FMR § 102-34.45).
Your agency's Fleet Manager is responsible for determining how your agency acquires vehicles. Motor vehicles may be: 1) purchased from a commercial source, e.g., manufacturer or dealership; 2) leased by contract or other arrangement from a commercial source for 60 continuous days or more; 3) rented by contract or other arrangement from a commercial source for less than 60 continuous days; 4) leased from GSA's Fleet; or 5) transferred as agency excess with or without cost (see FMR § 102-34.25).
Federal agencies are mandated by the Energy Policy Act, Executive Order 13423, and the Energy Independence and Security Act to purchase alternative fuel vehicles (AFV), to increase consumption of alternative fuels, and to reduce petroleum consumption. Information on Federal fleet requirements are found on the Department of Energy's website at http://www1.eere.energy.gov/femp/about/fleet_requirements.html. Information on leasing or purchasing AFV’s from GSA can be found at www.gsa.gov/afv.
GSA Fleet also has a program for short term vehicle rentals. More information can be found at www.gsa.gov/gsafleet under the tab entitled "GSA Fleet Solutions." GSA Schedule 48 also provides short term rentals, including Zipcar. More information on this program can be found at www.gsa.gov/rsvp. Both of these programs are for non-temporary duty (TDY) assignments. For information on rental vehicles for TDY, you may contact the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) who maintains the rental car contracts for the Federal government. The DTMO website is www.defensetravel.dod.mil.
3. What are my responsibilities when I use a Government motor vehicle?
You must obey all motor vehicle traffic laws of the state and local jurisdiction, except when the duties of your position require otherwise. You are personally responsible if you violate state or local traffic laws. If you are fined or otherwise penalized for an offense you commit while performing your official duties, but which was not required as part of your official duties, payment is your personal responsibility (see FMR § 102-34.250).
You must pay parking fees while operating a motor vehicle owned or leased by the Government. However, you can expect to be reimbursed for parking fees incurred while performing official duties (FMR §102-34.255).
If you are fined for a parking violation while operating a motor vehicle owned or leased by the Government, you are responsible for paying the fine and will not be reimbursed (see FMR § 102-34.256).
You are required to obtain the grade (octane rating) of fuel recommended by the motor vehicle manufacturer when fueling motor vehicles owned or leased by the Government (see FMR § 102-34.335). Most agencies issue refueling cards with each vehicle, including vehicles leased from GSA Fleet, that are widely accepted at commercial refueling stations thro
