Question: What can a pizza delivery driver do that will make you give a better tip? So what things would a pizza delivery driver do to make you want to give a better tip than you planned?
Answer: lisa S is right bring that sausage out.
Question: I want to become a pizza delivery driver, but I want to know how much would you usually get in tips a night? I want to become a pizza delivery driver, but I want to know how much would you usually get in tips a night?
Does the driver actually get to keep the tips made?
And how much would the pizza place pay for gas?
Like on a busy Saturday how much in tips do you think I would make?
BTW, I'm trying to get a job at Pizza Hut and I'm from Miami, FL.
Answer: Pizza Hut generally pays between .50 and .75 per trip for delivery to help with gas expense. It may vary depending on the price of gas and where you are. I am not sure about Miami...I live in Daytona and it's .50 right now. Drivers do keep all tips for Pizza Hut. The amount of tips you get depends on how many hours you work, when you work and where you deliver to. Be sure you don't have a gas guzzler car. And keep your maintenance up or you'll be sad. You cannot solicit tips, but if you get a reputation for being fast and friendly and never forget their extra items, you'll soon be bringing in some nice cash. A typical Friday or Saturday night could be anywhere from 50 to 200 dollars depending on how late the Hut is open and how late you're willing to work. Good luck!
Question: How does a delivery driver buy a house? I am a delivery driver in Concord, NC I bring in about $1500 a month but my checks are only 250-350 cause most of my money is from tips. how can I prove I make enough to get a loan on a 75k-100k house?
Answer: First, you don't earn enough to get a loan on a $75,000-$100,000 house. If you bought a $75,000 house with 20% down, you'd need $15,000 for the downpayment plus maybe $5,000 in closing costs. Do you have $20,000 available.
Then, you'd have a $60,000 mortgage. Very roughly, that would cost you $600 a month, adding in taxes, insurance, etc. That's marginal, even with a solid job.
See a mortgage broker to get a better idea on what you might qualify for.
What you'd have to do to prove your income is just what anyone else has to do: Provide evidence. That would include bank statements showing the income. That would also include, most likely, the past two years of your income tax returns. (Hopefully, you've been declaring your actual income on your tax returns.)
Hope that helps.
Question: What is a better job for a 20 year old female- delivery driver or waitress? I want something with a lot of tips and a good paycheck... but then again I dont want to deal with the public (waitress) but then again i dont know how i feel about losing gas or miles on my car (delivery driver) and also the delivery driver - i could get like mugged or something cause it's just me alone... but then the job of a waitress is a lot to remember... so what is a better option?? I would also like to work weekdays in the mornings/afternoons and one weekend day.
Answer: Waitressing is the better option simply because of personal safety. Very few delivery drivers are women.
If lots of tips and good pay is what you want, the decision has already been made for you.
Question: What is the best pizza restaurant to work at as a delivery driver in the Rochester Hills/Troy MI area? I currently work for a pizza chain as a delivery driver and feel that I should be making more money/have more deliveries. I make $6 an hour, $.75 per delivery plus tips. Problem is we average one delivery an hour. So after gas I calculate that I'm barely making minimum wage.
What chains might I make the most money at? I have no problem with taking phone orders, doing prep, cleaning, folding boxes, etc.
Answer: Well... "Kermit"... I'm familiar with the Rochester/Utica/Sterling Heights/Troy areas...
You didn't say which pizza chain you work for??
There are SO MANY different pizza chains in the greater Metro Detroit area these days...
I would just drive around during "peak" hours... and see which place seems busiest.
I really like Papa John's pizza, but that doesn't mean that you are going to make more money working for them. Ya know... "Pizza Hut" is still the Biggest Pizza Chain right now... maybe give them a try.
Does "Little Caesar's Pizza" deliver?? I know that their 5 dollar "ready-to-go" pizza is pretty popular, but I don't know if they deliver or not...
I mean... we've got "Jet's", "Dominoes", "Hungry Howies", "Papa Romanoes", "Dolly's"... there are just so many places...
Ya, drive around and see who seems to be doing the most business... or, even go inside and ask a manager what kind of money the delivery guy usually makes.
Question: I make $800 a month as a courier delivery driver, is that good money? I work for extra express as a delivery driver and I choose which days I wanna work and the hours.
The pay is about $200/week. Is that a good income?
Answer: Think about it this way:
$800/month
12 months/year
= $9,600 a year.
A teacher makes an average of 40,000-50,000 a year and think about how they don't have a lot of money to spend around, PLUS of today's economy and raising prices of items like food.
I would not say that's good money at all unless it's supplemental to another job or say, if you're a student in college or something.
Question: How can I get a job in fedex as a delivery driver in Orlando , Fl.? Does anybody Know a contractor? I would like to know requirements and exact information about how to get a job at fedex as a delivery package driven a small trucks ( class E driver license?
Does anibody knows a contractor in fedex who needs a driver to delivery packages?
Answer: It depends on what branch of FedEx you would like to work for. There is fedex ground and fedex express. If you want to get a job at fedex express, then go to the fedex website and search careers and they will post all open positions. The driver position is very competitive so be ready for a long process including backround checks and drug testing. Fedex is an awesome company to work for so good luck.
Question: Is it dangerous for a girl to be a pizza delivery driver? I want to be a delivery driver because I think it would be an easy way to make money, and I would be able to listen to books on tape the whole time, so that would be cool.
I live in a small city in West Virginia... do you think I would get attacked by a murderer?
Answer: It's dangerous for anyone to be a delivery driver, but I would worry more about the price of gas rather than being killed in a small West Virginian city.
Question: Claiming tips as a part time pizza delivery driver? I have been a part time delivery driver since I have started college and as a driver I have always been told to claim my tips at the end of the day as $1 per delivery.
I have done this for the past three years now my company is changing their policy and saying I have to claim $1 per cash delivery, and claim all tips on checks and credit cards in full, which lately has been averaging me anywhere from 50% - 85% of my tips and is taking chunks out of my paycheck. There have even been nights where managers have made me claim more than what I have actually made because the new policy is flawed where I don't average $1 on all deliveries. The new policy has only been enacted for about a month and we have lost 5 employees over it.
My question is what is the legality of them forcing me to claim tips and what is a more proper tip claiming policy that I could bring up to my managers. Any direction to posted documents on the web would be appreciated.
Answer: The legality of it is that you've both been breaking the law up to now. My guess is that they've been audited and the axe is about to fall on you as well for failure to claim your tip income. This could get ugly and expensive.
The law states that you must report ALL tip income received to your employer every month. Anything less and you leave yourself open to the wrath of the IRS. I hope you've been saving your money as the IRS is about to take a good chunk away from you.
Question: What are the pros and cons of being a FEMALE delivery driver? And why are all there no female drivers?? I've never seen a woman delivery driver.. Why is that? I am a female, 20 years ago, and am considering this for a part time job for extra money. What are the pros and cons?
Answer: Probably just for safety reasons. A lot of women (me included!) would be scared of getting raped and/or mugged and might have no way to defend themselves. They don't know who is going to be at the door when they are opening it, it's probably a lot of times for safety reasons!
