Question: Does any one work in Saudi Arabia as an aircraft technician? Does any one work in Saudi Arabia as an aircraft technician? I will finished up my A&P certification & BS degree in aviation management from Embry-Riddle University. I was told there is good money to be made in Saud and your family can come too. Any one currently working there? Any info. you can provide would be great.
Safe? What are the living conditions? Pay? Is it worth it? What is it like living there? What city/location are most US workers? Etc.
Thanks
Answer: Check out www.jobsataramco.com they are looking for A&P certified techs. However, they usually require 10 years + experience. Living on Aramco is like being a spoiled little kid, the houses are not as nice as some compounds but the rest of the facilities, schools etc are first rate.
Question: Are there any aircraft companies hiring aircraft technician or engineer from overseas? There are a number of technicians and engineers who have had experiences working with several aircrafts overseas. Does anyone know how the information can be obtained so that they (tech and eng) can apply and be sponsored to work in the United States? Please advise.
Answer: try these sites
http://jsfirm.com/
http://www.climbto350.com/
Question: If you were to interview me for the post of aircraft technician knowing that i just graduated? with a diploma in aircraft maintenance, what would you ask me?
Answer: 1) May I see your A&P license?
2) What type of aircraft and engines did you work on in school?
3) Are you willing to work for $10 per hour? (typical starting pay)
4) Would you mind sweeping floors and cleaning aircraft for the first year while you learn as you occasionally assist other mechanics.?
5) How would you feel if a woman was your supervisor?
6) What tools do you own?
7) If we offer you a job, do you have a problem working the graveyard shift for the next two years?
8) If you are hired for the day shift, can you show up by 6am every day?
9) How do you feel about working weekends and holidays?
10) Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
These are all questions you are likely to be asked.
Question: What is the difference between an aircraft technician and an aircraft mechanic?
Answer: in the Air Force, the difference is like night and day.
technicians specialize in communication, navigation, guidance, flight controls, ECM, environmental, engines, hydraulics, or fuels.
aircraft mechanics are crew chiefs. they take out the garbage, check the tires, inspect the plane, check the oil, gas up the plane, inspect the plane, coordinate maintenance efforts on their plane, scrape off the bird guts, and inspect the plane.
technicians have very, very specific areas of responsibility that require a LOT of training on system theory and troubleshooting.
mechanics don't really troubleshoot at all, they mostly inspect the aircraft and identify discrepancies.
the civilian world is probably different, but this is how it goes in the air force.
Question: Is there a difference between Aircraft technician and mechanic? Is there a difference between the two? Or they both the same thing?
Answer: Don't know about civilian life, but in the USAF mechanics are crew chiefs, engine mechanics, the Aero Repair guys that do movable flight surfaces and landing gear work, fabrication, and hydraulics troops.
Technicians are the electro-environmental, guidance control and comm/nav troops.
Crew chiefs are commonly referred to as booger hookers or knuckle draggers, avionics technicians as pointy heads.
Question: What is a good course to do if I want to become an aircraft technician?
Answer: Well you can take an A&P course at a tech school, but nothing is better than "on the job" training. I got started in aviation working on piston singles and light twins in a two man shop. That means you get experience with every part of the aircraft, instead of being a "sparky" a "wrench bender" or all of those wonderful nicknames.
Question: im takin a selction test for a job as an apprentice aircraft technician. can any one tell me what to revise???
The apprenticeship is a mechanical one working for a big airline. so they gona have alot of different aircraft availble to them.
Answer: Everything to do with planes. Know your nautical miles and knots. Plan model and makes, speeds, weight etc.
It's better to go knowing more than you need to, than less than you need to.
Good luck!
Question: plz help!! What should be my objective in my resume if im applying for a job as an aircraft technician ? this job is releated to mechanical assemblies...plz help..
anyonebased on your experience
Answer: Objective: To obtain a high paying position the will earn me the kind of salary that will allow me to live the LifeStyle I would like to become accustomed to.
I know but! that is your real Objective isn't it?
Question: Hi! I'm aircraft technician w/ experience in B737NG, do I have a chance to get job in Canada?
Answer: Are you Canadian?
If so, you probably have a better chance
than a non-Canadian national.
But, I can't help you further without more details
(i.e., how many years experience?
with what companies?
can you pass a drug/criminal/security/etc check?
etc, etc, etc; in other words, next time, show us your resume).
Question: I am looking for an unlicenced aircraft technician/mechanic job any ideas? I have got experience in both Airframe and Propulsion and Computered systems
Answer: The only way to work on aircraft in this country (US) without an A & P Certificate is work under the direct supervision of some one who has a certificate. Due to liability concerns not many are willing to let someone work on their ticket. Find an FBO who has an A & P on the payroll an needs a laborer to to do the menial tasks and work toward your own certificate.
