Answer: You need to source a UK-based trade school either on-line or... Find out what is needed in the way of education, to become a licensed electrician there. Check your credentials against what is required. You can probably take courses on-line to bring up any areas that you are weak or untrained in. Once you have the training, you need to have the practical experience as well. See if your current experience can be transferred and counted in for their apprenticeship. Ultimately, you will need to write the exam and pass it for your license. Once you have a license, the employers will look at hiring you. When they tell you that your lack of experience will result in lower pay; you can fill them in as to what you have been doing and where and the result may be a higher-paying job where you want to be.

I don't know about Ontario, but here in the States (at least my state anyway) you need to have a high school diploma and one year of high school algebra with a 'B' average or better. With that you can get into an apprenticeship program, where you are paid to work and learn. Check with your local electrician's union for details. Good luck!
