Question: Electronics engineer? Is there a such thing as an electronics engineer? At my school I chose to major in electronics engineering but on the paper it said electrical engineering. I dont want to be an electrician. When I look up stuff for electronics engineering all that comes up is electrical engineering.
Answer: You won't be an electrician. They wear tool belts and pull Romex through framing studs.
Electrical and computer engineering are what you want. Look for a program where the graduate research is focused on electronics applications and you'll be all set.
The term "electrical" engineering is really historical .. from the time before there were transistors and they worked on stuff like transformers.
Question: What college path do I take to become an electronics engineer? I'll be attending Ohio State next year and they have electrical engineering and computer engineering, but they don't have electronics engineering. From my research on electronics engineering it's a mix of computer and electrical, but what would be a good major and minor so as to land a job as an electronics engineer after graduating?
Answer: Electrical engineering. Computer engineering is more centered towards the building and design of computers and computer systems. Electronics engineering is more like a subset of electrical engineering which is more broad. You'll still learn what you want to know about electronics. Electrical devices are things like resistors, capacitors, and inductors. Electronic devices are associated with things that are made with semi conductive material like diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits. Most electrical circuits are electronic circuits. The AC/DC converter that you use to recharge your cell phone is a simple electronic circuit. Your digital alarm clock,cd player, cell phone, stereo, and computer are all electronic circuits. So your major will still be electrical, but you will specialize in which types of circuits that you want to deal with. A first course on transistors will make things clearer. Transistors are the basic building blocks of electronic circuits, and electronic circuits fall into 2 categories: analog and digital. About 95% of electronic circuits nowadays are digital. A transistor is a device that does one of 2 things: it can be used as an amplifier or a switch. If it is used as an amplifier, it is usually performing an analog function. If it is used as a switch, it is performing a digital function. Transistors are hooked up with each other to perform complex tasks, and the more transistors, the more complicated the device, and the more things it can do. Your alarm clock, for example, has dozens of transistors in it acting as switches, while your computer has billions of transistors in it switching off and on to do all the things that a computer does.
All engineers use computers a lot. A computer engineer is more focused on designing computers and focuses more on actual programming to control how the chips in the computer function. An electronics engineer focuses more on learning how to use pre-written software to help them design simpler electronic circuits.
So your major will still be electrical, no need for a minor. You just need to decide which types of electronic circuits to specialize in.
Question: Being an Electronics engineer, how can I fulfill the reqirements of a software industry? I am an electronics engineer. I want to join software industry. But in most interview, I face the question "Being an electronics engineer how can you fulfill our requirements? Plz give me a strong and proper answer for this question.
Answer: well..maybe take some software courses first..
Question: What is the best training for becoming an electronics engineer? What is the best training for becoming an electronics engineer? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective electronics engineer?
Answer: Training.......
Go for engineering.. Study and get selected to a reputed engg college and opt for electronics engg, simple.
Bye...
Question: What are the scopes and demand of Electronics engineer? I'm nearing the completion of my electronics engineer and want to know where can i get involved. Would it be helpful if i did courses for MCSE and CCNA?
Answer: It seems to me you are confusing an Engineering degree with some kind of technical certificate. Real engineering graduates do not bother with trifles such as MCSE or CCNA.
Question: Average salary and standard benefits for an Electronics Engineer in Europe? What is the average salary and standard benefits for an Electronics Engineer in Germany and Europe?
Mainly in Bavaria, but the ideas about other states and other European countries are also welcome.
To be more specific, 28 year old Electronics Engineer holding a BScEE and a technician's degree, working in the embedded systems field and having 2 year before degree and 4 year after degree experience and last 4 years were in a subsidiary of a German company.
Thanks to all valid responses.
Answer: If I was you I would contact the Arbeitsamt (office of unemployment) in the city where you would be working and ask them. They usually have a pretty good idea about what is being paid. They will also need to approve your employment contract if you apply for a work permit. They won't do so if the salary is a lot below average pay for a German with similar qualifications.
Munich is very expensive, so even if the salary looks very good compared to an offer from northern Germany you'll need it just to get by.
Standard benefits would be the mandatory statuory health insurance, around 26 days of paid vacation, a 13th and maybe 14th salary (essentially you get an end of the year and maybe a going on vacation bonus) and bunch of joint government and employer sponsored benefits.

Question: How to become an electronics engineer? Is their a major of electronic engineering? Would electrical or computer engineering major be the same thing? Is their lots of math involved once you become an electronics engineer? thanks
Answer: Where I live, you either study electronics and computer hardware as an electrical engineer, or you study computer systems (networks, protocols, etc) as a software engineer.
To become one, go to University, do a 4 year B.Eng or B.Sc., work for 4 years under a P.Eng., write a law exam and an ethics exam, then you'll get a license.
In school, it's basically all calculus! In 3 dimensions! After graduation, you let the computer do much of the math for you.
Question: Is there any jobs for medial electronics engineer? Hi, I 've completed my engineering in medical electronics . But couldn't find the right job . Can anyone suggest me what am I suppose to do.I don;t know what to do to find the right job. please help me.
Answer: When you apply for jobs you have to show them the things you have designed and built yourself. The things you have done because you love engineering so much that you just cannot wait and have so many good ideas you will go build them even though no one asked you to build them.
When I got my current job I showed them the main control PCB assembly for the diesel fuel fired electronically controlled heating system that I designed while moonlighting from my day job, for a contract for the US Army.
When I got my first job in aviation, I showed them the stereo amplifier and disco type light controller I built at home.
Engineers who did nothing more than what the school said to do are seen as not really being enthusiastic about the field and tend to be the last hired. The ones that can show them hardware they designed and built for fun are the first hired.
Which are you?
Also note that in the USA, most of the medical electronics jobs are in Massachusetts and California.
Question: what should i read as i want to become a good electronics engineer and get placed in a reputed company? I m in third year of my engineering(branch : electronics n communication)....i want to become a good electronics engineer n get placed in a good reputed core company ....what couses should i opt for? n what should i read n how shud i prepare??????? help me out plzzz.........
Answer: You have to be so excited about being an engineer you will do tons more work than the school told you to do. You just can't wait to get home and turn on the soldering iron to build the latest projects in Nuts and Volts magazine, except you always redesign them so they do more and work better.
When I graduated I had built killer sound equipment, designed a disco light controller that many of the other students built, repaired TVs and sound systems to pay my car expenses and had enough experience on CD radio repair I went straight into a job in avionics, working on aircraft communications systems.
When I got my current job, I showed them the boards I designed for a project I did for a company for a job for the US Army as a moonlight job from my day job of running an IT support department for a school district.
And no one places you in a position. You have to chase a job down yourself.
Question: how to get job in Germany as a embeded electronics engineer? Dear all
I am a indian National and working as a R & D engineer in UAE in the field of embeded electronics from last 2 years. I have done my masters ( M.Tech) from IIT Bombay.
I would like to know how easy it is to get a job in Germany and how i can approach. What could be the salary range which i can demand.
thank u
Answer: Search for job listings. If you want a particular city see if the jobs are available and the terms and conditions.
