Question: How could a system integrator set to work Collins computerized system without being able to interrogate its? on-board electronic systems ? Wouldn't this be carried out using sophisticated diagnostic equipment that was up to the mark - anything else would not accurately and completely do the job ?
Answer: Something was rotten in the management of the project. From the beginning to the end. Astonishing!
Question: Would a safety-critical system integrator keep records of previous attempts at problem solution? If every time you try to add functionality you spend years fixing the problems you cause, wouldn't you need to take that fact into account.
How will you know what your attempts at problem solution were, unless you keep records ?
[Ludwig Wittgenstein, Tractatus
1 The world is the totality of facts, not of things. 1.11 The world is determined by the facts, and by these being all the facts. ]
To Pareidolia,
Terrific answer. Thanks.
Answer: I suppose it would, as long as they can be properly utilized, unless recording or storing those records somehow made the system less safe.
Question: what is systems integrator? and who are the system integrators for hospitals in bangalore?
Answer: sorry mate no idea!
Question: Is "System Integrator" a dream job for the "office psychopath" and micromanager?
As system integrator the system integrator will have freedom to meddle, and can then apply spin to show how the meddling "rescued" the project.
Answer: So true!
This is exactly what is happening to my wife at her job right now.
Question: What's the difference between a System Integrator and Service Provider?
Answer: A system integrator is a person or company that specializes in integrating systems. System integrators integrate multiple systems for inputting, processing, interpreting, storing, and categorizing data. For example, a system integrator may build an IT solution integrating an Oracle based inventory tracking system, an OnBase document management system, a Microsoft CRM system, a group of Panasonic scanners, and a Rimage storage system to produce an overall solution for the customer.
A service provider is an entity that provides services to other entities. Usually this refers to a business that provides subscription or web service to other businesses or individuals. Examples of these services include Internet access, Mobile phone operator, and web application hosting.

Question: How would a system integrator "upgrade" a processor ? For sake of argument let us suppose the program runs on a Motorola 68020 card. The system integrator thinks to "upgrade" the processor.
But how can he do this ? The existing executable code, and the existing source code, are like "sacred texts" which cannot be altered without voiding the system.
If the system is to be upgraded, why wouldn't the original manufacturer, or a person of the same ability, upgrade the system ?
<<Rockwell wanted to further upgrade its processor (after having done so before with the 68030 and 68040)>>(Google Books, "Steel, Spies and Spin", page 155)
To Vanity,
Thanks.
To booklover,
Thanks.
I meant upgrade to a new processor.
for exampleI replace 68020 card with 68040 card
Answer: Mine fixes itself after a push of one button, even deleted material or missing files..and deletes the things that are not to be there, so why would I upgrade. This is the ultimate version I've ever had, mainly because it's lasted a tad longer even though the usual hackers and key loggers try their best to intercept personal info. I don't know how, but I have an awesome computer repair guy and I no longer depend on those techs who put you through those gruesome tech tests.
