Answer: it sounds like you already know what you want... my suggestion is shadow one of each and choose wisely... a salesperson is someone that spends a lot of time at work and doesn't have much of a family life. a coordinator has its challenges too. Managing a job is easy... managing the people that do the job is sometimes the trick... take your feelings out of the solution and figure out which personality fits you. good luck

Answer: It depends on how junior you mean! It also depends on what benefits you get, especially if you get a car allowance, and bear in mind that most pre-sales guys are paid a bonus so this will affect your base salary. I would say that you could be looking at anywhere from £30k up to a maximum of £50k for your base salary. Bonuses vary hugely from company to company so it's difficult to give you a figure on this. Remember to find out how often your bonus gets paid - if it's annually and you take a job with a low base but a high bonus, then you may struggle through most of the year, but if it's paid quarterly then no worries. At the lower end of that range, you'd manage to live in central London but may not be able to live "well", depending on your definition of well. I would say £35k is the minimum you need to live well. However, yes, you could live in Windsor - most of the software companies are located outside of London in Berkshire or Middlesex, especially around Reading and Slough. If you lived and worked out there, you'd have a better quality of life due to less time spent travelling and the fact that those cities are less crowded, plus it would be cheaper.

Answer: So you got a total offer of 9750. Not bad. Its acceptable. Ask for performance reviews... when or how often. And since you're in sales, what about commissions? Hope this helps!

Answer: Having engineering background in order to become a sales engineer is very important. You will need at least some qualification in electrical engineering. If however you are planning to do sales rather than design, I would suggest you don't get a degree (expensive and time consuming) but aim for a diploma (only two to three years depending) but don't bother doing the practical thereafter. (you will never use it.) At the same time try and ruffle in a few marketing courses. Any company that does sales in electrical engineering is bound to want you. Good luck. Answer: A very interesting question indeed....... But i guess none of us would have a better answer than yourself. I dont think age is a factor that should determine who can sell better. 17 years... is a lot of experience and that is a plus for any person. And as far as the younger people are concerned as to be more aggressive. I think it should not be directly linked with age but to YOUR COMMITMENT to the job. May be you are bored with the job that is why you dont feel like to be aggressive. A change / promotion in the job can bring more aggressiveness to your game.
