Question: Will upgrading from Sql Server 05 express edition to Developer edition without any conflicts is possible? Can I upgrade from Sql Server 2005 Express to Developer edition without any conflicts? I have VS2005 coming with sql server 2005 express edition. I am planning to upgrade to SQl Server Developer edition. Should I remove Express?/ Or just upgrade?? Thank you.

Answer: They can exist on the same machine just name the instances differently. RJ

Answer: SQL Sever installation is long and involved. To ensure that you have a really stable installation without any conflicts its highly recommended that you completely uninstall express edition before installing developer edition. Otherwise you'll run into problems where instances use the express edition defaults even though you have developer edition. (Ran into several problems trying the upgrade method)

Question: What is the difference between Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and Standard Edition? Are there differences? Is the Developer version the "full" version of SQL?

Answer: Developer Edition has all the same features as the Enterprise Edition, the "full" version of SQL. Unlike Enterprise Edition, it shouldn’t be used for other purposes than development. Question: Can i use SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition to create database for Sql Server 2005 Workgroup Edition? I have SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and want to use this environment to create a database that can be backed up and restored to an instance of Sql server 2005 Workgroup Edition. Can this work?

Answer: yes, you should have no problem doing a Complete backup and then restore on the other server.

Question: Can not install the Disk #2 when installing SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition? For various reasons I tried copying the install files to a SQL Server 2005 Developer folder on the harddrive, (two folders, disk1 and disk2 folder) it would then run through the install and mess up at the end without asking for the rest of the files, on disc 2, which is what it WILL do, if I install from disc 1. Can anyone give me a help ? Thanks !!!

Answer: Although I haven't tried to do this to SQL2K5 Dev Ed, I've addressed this in the past by putting the files for both disks in the same folder. You'll likely get a few errors that relate to the disk setup that would be on both disks but a single copy of the files should be sufficient. Otherwise, I'd recommend instead that you use the regular media itself. The files are intended to be installed from original media and not copied to disk.

Question: Can you tell me what benefits a VB6 developer gains if he/she starts using SQL Server 2005 technology? More specifically, if a VB6 developer is developing (large scale) applications, which run on SQL Server 2000, are there any real benefits for the developer if he/she upgrades to SQL Server 2005? From developer point of view.

Answer: The benefits are limited. Basically SQL Server 2005 is a little quicker responding and has functions for debugging Stored Procedures, but other than that, you probably wouldn't notice a difference.

Question: can some tell me that sql server developer or pl/sql developer.which one is less stress and good at market.?

Answer: I don't know what you mean by "less stress"...... But it depends on the database you have. If you have Microsoft SQL server, then you would need SQL Server Developer. If you have an Oracle database, then you would need Oracle Developer (pl/sql)..

Answer: do wat ever it takes...to become wat u want... age doesnt matter..... i know this lady that was 70 and she went to school to get her high school degreee..... so...make all ur dreams come true... u only have one life....so do wat u wanna do.. and if they tell u...Ur TOO OLD.. dont listen to them.... cause trust m...there r going to be a lot of obsticles to overcome......but when u get there/....... u will be so proud of urself....and then ur going to know tat u can accomplish anything! good luk.,. and dont give up..bc of the haters.. =)

Question: PLZ help me i need a professional SQL server developer, using DotNet? To insert from table? how can i insert/update a table and get the values from another tables using SQl server 2000 strored procedure,in other way the user will insert an information as a 'string' and my table is a "smallint " the values must convert to a small int using another table the another table have 2 columns (ID as int,str as varchar(20)) the user input from the str and i have to insert the ID of that str. please help me imediatlly PLZ PLZ PLZ
