Question: How can i integrate pro engineer and ansys? Please tell me the tutorials site in which there are tutorial for integration of pro engineer and ansys. I want to model the component in pro engineer and do the static/dynamic analysis in ansys. Please tell me. I need this.....
Answer: create the model in ProE and then save then export to IGES if u want to do your FEA
then close ProE
Open Ansys
import your model and do what you need to do such as a "Young's Modulus" i think its under material properties/Isotropic.
try googling "Ansys and ProE", too
Question: Is there any application of indefinite integration in engineering?
i want to know the practical applications of indefinite integrals.
Answer: It is not common, but a general engineering problem may be set up with an indefintie integral that can be solved in closed form, therefore providing an equation that gives the nature of the solution without exact numbers.
A simple example to show how it might be done: if you have a voltage feeding a capacitor through a resistor, the capacitor's voltage is given by C*dVc/dt=i; I=(Vs-Vc)/R. dV/dt = (Vs-Vc)/RC,
dVc/(Vs_vc) = dt/RC
now we integrate both sides with an indefinite integral, getting
-ln(Vs-Vc) + K = t/RC where K is a constant to be determined.
This can be written ln(Vs-Vc)=K-t/RC, which is the same as
Vs-Vc = e^(K-t/RC)
Vs-Vc = e^K * e^(t/RC); now let e^K equal a new constant K'.
Vs-Vc = K'e^(t/RC)
Vc = Vs - K'e^(t/RC)
Now we know from the properties of a capacitor that the voltage cannot change instantly, and we set the initial condition across the capacitor at t=0 that Vc = 0. This means that Vc(0) = Vs - K' = 0. or K' = Vs. Finally we get an equation for the voltage across the capacitor
Vc= Vs - Vse^-t/RC, or Vc = Vs(1-e^-t/RC)
which gives us the way the capacitor will respond generally.
Question: what is the practical or engineering application of Differentiation and integration? I have studied integration and differentiation in college without understanding its core meaning. could anyone explain it.
Answer: Wow - there are so many -
Let's say you are heating up a steel bar from the tip and need to know what the temperatures are at any given point along the rest of the bar?
What if you have an odd shape curve and you need the area of the space it covers?
What if you need to know the pull of gravity at any given height as you leave the surface of the planet?
Don't you take University Physics? There are TONS of examples in it.
Question: how to do INTEGRATION BY PARTS in engineering mathematics? integation is one of the common method we use in maths,there are different methods to do integration
Answer: ∫ u dv = uv - ∫ v du
You have to substitute a portion of your formula for u, substitute the remaining portion (which includes your dx) for dv
By integrating one and differentiating the other, you figure out both v and du
Then just substitute back into the formula I have written at the top. Work out what you can.
Question: Complex integration for engineering application? Could you please have a look at this integration question to help me get started ? Any help appreciated.
Integrate the expression : x^4 - 3x^3 +2x -9 / x^3 - 6x^2 + 9x
Answer: You want to break this fraction up into two pieces: one that's a multiple of the denominator (and will reduce to ax+b), and one that's a fraction with numerator of degree <= 2. Then break up the fraction by parts and integrate:
x^4 - 3x^3 + 2x - 9 / (x^3 - 6x^2 + 9x) = (x + 3) plus a remainder:
(x+3)(x^3 - 6x^2 + 9x) = x^4 -3x^3 -9x^2 + 27x
And the remainder is 9x^2 + 25x - 9
So:
x^4 - 3x^3 + 2x - 9 / (x^3 - 6x^2 + 9x) = (x + 3) + (9x^2 + 25x + 9) / (x^3 - 6x^2 + 9x)
= (x+3) + (9x^2 + 25x + 9) / x(x-3)^2
= (x+3) + A/x + (Bx+C) / (x-3)^2
A(x-3)^2 + (Bx+C)x = (9x^2 + 25x + 9)
(A+B)x^2 + (C-6A)x + 9A = 9x^2 + 25x + 9
A = 1
B = 8
C-6A = 25; C = 31
So this becomes:
= (x+3) + 1/x + (8x+31) / (x-3)^2
= (x+3) + 1/x + (8x-24+55) / (x-3)^2
= (x+3) + 1/x + (8x-24)/(x-3)^2 + 55/(x-3)^2
= (x+3) + 1/x + 8/(x-3) + 55/(x-3)^2
And the integral is:
1/2 x^2 + 3x + ln x + 8 ln (x-3) - 55 / (x-3)
Question: Would it work to outsource, for example, "integration" of Collins submarine computer system ? Wouldn't you need some in-house staff ?
Found this terrific insight: "Why do you assume the systems engineer must be hired on contract? If they work for your company, they should have the company interest in mind.
Systems Engineering is mostly about planning in detail and that is usually the best thing for a product."
How's it all going ? Has someone been outsourcing too much of it ?
Answer: no
Question: Systems integration? My Dad is a systems integration engineer, he quotes analyzers. Can someone explain to me what that means? I'm tired of sounding stupid when people ask me what my dad does. And he makes it way too complicated when I ask him what an analyzer is. I'm not dumb..I just don't have the analytical mind conducive to engineering I guess. Thanks!
Answer: A system integrator combines two or more complex components that are supposed to work together to perform a specified task and assures that everything works as a complete system. That can mean different things in different industries.
The components could be a computer and various software programs. They could be a military vehicle, various weapons and fire control systems. They could be chemical process equipment, sensors and process control equipment.
An analyzer could be a computer data analysis system for analyzing economic conditions. It could be something for analyzing images for targeting weapons. It could be something for analyzing chemicals.
Quoting an analyzer may involve interpreting customer requirements, determining what analyzer components and characteristics are required to meet the requirements, figuring out what is necessary for the components to work together, determining the cost of the components and any work necessary to assure that they work together, and creating a sales proposal to offer to the customer.
If you don’t already know some things that would narrow the list of possibilities, you need to ask some targeted questions.
Question: in mechanical engineering derivative and integration is used for what purpose?
Answer: derivative and integrals are used mostly in strengths of material and physics, finding deflection, load, strength, area, moments of inertia. Basically, they are used to solve problems that do not have standard equations available for them. Also, calculus can be used in test data, as well as other statistical problems.
Question: When should be differentiation used in solving engineering problems & when to use integration?
Answer: I do not know (based on this post) if you have finished your Calculus courses, both Differential and Integral Calculus. Honestly, if you have finished these Calculus courses, you should be able to determine when to use Differential and/or Integral Calculus and this should never be an issue nor a problem for you.
However, if you have not finished these courses, then I suggest that you go ahead and be done with them so you will know the actual answer to this post of yours.
Hope this helps.
