Question: Life of a field technician in archeology? i'm very interested in a job as a field technician in archeology. i am aware that it requires you to travel all over the world but i was wondering how long these trips last. Would this job be okay if you want to have a family?
Answer: having a family as a tech can be tough since you are constantly moving. some jobs will take 2 weeks. other can take 6 months. it all depends on the type of project. all the while you are living out of a hotel or motel room off of measly pay. the pay also depends on your experience and the company you work for. i have known techs that had families while they were out in the field. some days were better than others but it worked out for them.
Question: How do I become a Field Technician? I love technology and computers. But, at the same time, I HATE sitting around all day (at my computer, etc)
What kind of schooling do I need to get a job repairing computers and moving around a lot instead of sitting in one place?
It seems like most technical programs are just for the actual operating of the computers, and not fixing them. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.
Answer: What you're looking for is an Associate of Science degree (2 years of college) mine's in EE/ET (Electrical/electronic engineering) in Automated Control Systems
So something like that.
Question: how many years would i have to go to college to become a field technician in meteorology? years? and what would my degree in college have to be?
Answer: you need a 4 year bachelors degree and a masters, which would tack on an extra 2-4 years. ive seen students with b.s. degrees in geophysics go on to grad school, but im not sure what the requirements are
Question: Can computer science majors get jobs in the computer technician field? If a computer science degree can cover but hardware and software, I will buckle down and do my best in computer science.
Answer: computer science degrees cover a huge area of careers, and yes, computer technician is covered.
Question: Which is a better field to pursue Pharmacy technician or CNA? I have heard that pharmacy technicians don't make much money at all so i don't know if i want to go into that field. Which do you think is better?
B.T.W I ask this question because i plan on becoming a Radiologic Technologist and was wondering would it be best to work as cna first before entering the rad tech field.
Answer: CNAs don't make much money either. CNAs in hospitals make the best money, but even they top out at about $15 per hour.
As far as wages go, the two positions are pretty similar. So it just depends on your personality type and what you're interested in doing. If you like taking care of people, feeding, toileting, changing linens, etc, then CNA. If you prefer working more regular hours and dealing with "patients" in more of a customer service capacity, then go for pharmacy tech.
Question: What is a better field to start a career, Medical Billing/coder or Pharmacy Technician? I am currently in school to be a Medical Biller/coder and was wondering if this is a better field of study than Pharmacy Technician. My second choice. Where would I be happier?
Answer: I'm a pharmacy technician. To be honest I really hate my job. It's pretty stressful, but it pays ok. I know a few technician's that are training to be medical billers, but I also know a lot of medical billers that can't find work. You could get a job as a pharmacy clerk, to see if you like it or not. All medical jobs are probably pretty stressful, but more guaranteed for stability. Good luck. (I make more than $12, like the other person said, and I have a friend that makes $30 an hour as a tech, depends what company).
Question: Will a recruited marine in training in being a naval technician or any non-war field work still fight a war? Will a recruited marine in training in being a naval technician or any non-war field work still fight a war?
I have two friends who joined the marine's, and they'll be going to Boot Camp on the 14th of July next year.
And since I'm one who worries for my friends well beings, will they be sent to battle if the war is still on or if any other war begins even if they reassure me that'll they be a technician and such and won't see any bullets or fighting whatsoever?
Answer: yes now and forever till you are free. I am in a non combat MOS in the Army and if they need you, you will fight. That what basic is for is to teach you to fight. Having a non-combat job helps a lot you will not see it much or even if you are lucky.
Question: Is computer repair technician a good field to pursue? I am aware of the fact that they do not make a lot of money. I just want a job that i am going to like doing. Is this career field really in demand? I live in Michigan and wanted to know are there any jobs here for this field. Although this is a field that i am interested in pursuing, i do not want to go into this field if there are not many jobs for it.
Answer: Yes, I have a friend who owns his own computer repair business. He has been in business for about 15 years and has a little shop. Computer repair will always be in demand because even when the economy is bad (like now) people need their computers repaired, and especially when the economy is bad (like now) people are more willing to fix an old computer than to buy a new one.
Question: Is Pharmacy Technician a good field to go into for the future? And if so, what is the most money that Pharmacy Technicians make?
Answer: you'll start around $10 in a retail setting, more in hospital. I don't know where you're located but there are things like call centers for mail order pharmacies that use pharm techs, that's the most i'd seen a tech make....about 40k. the one i'm thinking of is located in philadelphia, memphis, and tempe, AZ. If you are serious about pharmacy start as a tech and get into a pharm school... then you'll make six figures.
Question: Which is a better field to go into pharamcy technician or medical assistant? Also which field pays more? And please people no answers like "They both are good fields". I need to know which field is better than the other. If you do not know which is a better field then do not answer this question.
Answer: neither pay well, try medical coding it's in demand an the pay is excellent..... but if i were to have to choose it would be pharmacy no retail, try the hospitals..good luck
Question: Is Veterinary Technician a good field to get into? I have always wanted to work in the medical field and with animals. Is this job secure? Do they pay good? How much schooling do I need? What classes do I need to take? And is it really worth it?.I know there is alot of questions but I'm getting so many different feedback on this field, I'm lost.
Thanks in advance.
-Belinda
San Antonio TX
Answer: Veterinary technicians are in demand right now. But compared to nurses in human medicine, you won't make nearly as much. I believe the average is only around $40,000 a year, but that will depend on your geographic area as well as the type of practice you work in. Only two years of schooling are required there are vet tech programs are certain community colleges. I'm not sure about the exact curriculum, but it's a lot of basic science classes and anatomy and physiology and learning the basic hands on techniques like blood drawing. Whether or not it's worth it is up to you. Most technicians I know are very happy in their jobs. It definitley has positive and negative aspects, but only you can decide if you would be happy. If you need a job that pays a lot, then it might not be worth it to you. It can be a lot of fun though.
Question: it's really hard looking for a job in the field of maintenance technician, any suggestions?
oh yeah i am looking in dallas, texas and surrounding cities. Forgot to add that little piece of important info.LOL.
Answer: Industrial Maint Techs are needed all over the country, I have been looking for over a year for at least one that knows some thing about machinery, electrical, 3 phase. I am retiring in a few years and their is no one to take my place. It is bad everywhere

It looks like Technical field cheaper than degree courses. I want to know which Institute will be easy, reasonable and affordable cost to complete my Technical field? Answer: Have you tried with Centennial college? Centennial college is famous for all sorts of techinical programs, you name it. Just google it for the website, and look for the details.
Question: Which is a better field to pursue Medical Laboratory Technician or Radiologic Technologist? Please give reasons as to why one occupation is better than the other.
Which pays of these fields pays more than the other?
Sanju Baba or whatever your name is. Your link was of no help.
Answer: I think it depends on how much you like interacting with people.
A Radiologic Tech will be working hands on with a wide variety of patients all day and traits like compassion, patientce, and people skills would be important for this job.
The Medical Labratory Tecnician would be better suited for those who anre not as outgoing or people oriented as most of your time would be spent in a laboratory without much contact with other people.
There is not really one job that is "better" than the other, The question is which one is a better fit for your personality.
Question: Jobs in the theater technician field? I'm done with high school and 17. I never planned on going to college. I've just worked retail jobs in the past really. I was considering going into computer networking for a while. But right now and for the last season of the theater I did the lights for the show. I find it very interesting and I'm wondering if there's any opportunity in this field. And if there is, is there a certain AS or BS I should get from a college?
Thanks
Answer: You might want to try the gambling casinos' theaters. (this is out of the box thinking)
All the casinos have shows and I'm sure they could use an apprentice like you.
Question: How is the "Laptop Technician" job? Should I enter in this field or not? I mean, if I enter in this area, would I be limiting my options in future? Somebody told me that:-
"Laptops and desktops(PCs) are completely different things once you open them up. Desktops are usually much much much easier to work with because they have more room on the inside, and are compatable with many diffent parts. Becasue laptops are so small, replacement parts are much harder to come by."
What would you suggest me, to enter in Desktop field or laptop field? I am in Australia. Thanks
Answer: i don't know why that person said limiting your opitions in the future... i believe it will open them...
Your statement is totally correct.. Desktops are very easy, to work with.. infact even noobs can handle it...
Desktops, alot of people can fix them, which will limiting the desktop technicans...
But as for the laptop field, you need some who know what they really doing to fix it. which will insure that your field is more protected...
Go for the laptop section. You won't regert it
