Answer: Most dry cleaners in the area also do tailoring, but this place has a good reputation (I haven't personally used them). Answer: I think your best bet would be to get some resume writing tips at a local resume writing center. I found a few in my area through the internet yellow pages. I'm sure you could also find some in your area. They would really be able to help you out in custom tailoring a resume. Question: How do I find a good tailor in China? My husband and I are in China. We heard from people in America that we should have clothes made at a tailor for the experience. I don't know how to find a GOOD tailor though. I want to show them a picture and have them make it. I would also like traditional Chinese clothing made. What is the Chinese word for tailor? Question: What is the easiest way to hem up pants without taking them to a tailor? My husband suddenly needs a few pairs of pants hemmed up and I don't have a special sewing machine for it or the money to take them to a tailor. Is there any other way to get this done on a sewing machine or do I have to hem them by hand? I have very little time to do it in...I tried the sew easy iron on stuff but it don't last very long.

Answer: Hi, Hallwoman! If you have a straight stitch machine there should be a special foot to adapt for this. It can also be done by top stitching but you have to carefully manipulate the fabric through the straight stitch foot so as not to sew opening closed. Since you don't have the drop table for hemming and the fusing tape isn't working the only other way I know of is sewing by hand. Hope this helps and isn't confusing! John H

Question: Can a tailor make a pair of pants to match a black suit coat if the original pair of pants is missing? I have a black Ben Sherman suit coat that is of extremely high quality and is a great fit, but I do not have the matching pair of pants nor do I have any color swatch. If I took the coat to a tailor, could they make me a pair of pants that matched the suit coat?

Answer: Probably, if you went to a good tailor. However, be ready to spend a pretty penny, it will probably be expensive.

Question: I am going to get some shirts and slacks tailor made.How can i get them old school cool? I am a man who likes fashion from the 20;s and 30,s.Also i like Cuban style or sinatra style style.I just dont know how to describe it to the tailor,what material to buy or what style cut is best for what i am after.Any ideas?

Question: How do I remove tailor's chalk from fabric? I drew something out on white fabric with black tailor's chalk and I really need to remove the chalk now. I've tried ironing but it wouldn't come off. I tried to wash it a bit but only a little came off. I've tried to brush it, but no hope. What do I do?

Answer: When you ironed it you probably set the chalk in. Heat sets colors. It will probably be pretty difficult to remove completely at this point. You can try a powerful stain remover or a bleach pen. My bet is that some of the black will still stick around though.

Question: How do i get a job as tailor in a department store? I've heard that large department stores like macy's and nordstrom have jobs in tailoring outside the store. meaning that they usually have a place where they take it to or a person ( tailor) who picks up the clothes every week or two. Ive been trying to research in to it but i have not found a way. Does anyone know how this job works? like pay wise and how it works?

Answer: You can work as a Taylor in JC Penney I believe. Just apply and see what happens. Dry Cleaners are the best place for Tailor positions!

Question: How much does a tailor charge? I got these very expensive jeans imported from Colombia. They are wide leg and I really don't like that but they are very pretty this is why I want to fix them. I would like to make the bottum part of the leg smaller about 3". How much would a tailor charge per jeans?

Answer: My tailor only charged me $5 to hem a pair of jeans, so it shouldn't cost more than $10. Check your local phone book for nearby tailors and dry cleaning stores that do alterations.

Answer: Crown Tailors on Sukhumvit Road soi 8. Take the sky train to nana station and you're there. Their suits have lasted me througout the years and I still highly recommend them to all my friends and those who ask for a place to get clothes tailored.

Answer: Any dry cleaner with a tailor on the premises (almost all) will do it for under $10 (on LI). My husband has his done everytime he buys new jeans.
