Question: How did the printing press affect the scientific revolution? Please help me! I couldn't find much... Im doing an essay and I need to include this answer in it... So far, All i wrote(my words) is..
The printing technologies spread quickly, which led news, articles and books to travel around Europe at a much faster speed than before the printing press was invented. The discovery of the printing press helped in the scientific revolution. It helped publish theories, books and articles about new scientific discoveries and theories. An example of that is when Nicolas Copernicus published his theory called “De revolutionibus orbium coelestium “, and when Andreas Vesalius published his “ De humani corporis fabrica”. One reason many people learned about their theories is because they wrote them in books and articles. Since the printing press was available, those articles and books could be published and could spread all over Europe.
Also, they weren’t as expensive as the hand written manuscripts, so more people could afford to read them and educate themselves about the new theories, experiments and inventions. Therefore, the printing press basically acted as a catalyst in the Renaissance, as it sped things up.
thanks in advance. I just wanted to post this so that no one wastes their time and gives me the same thing that I wrote.. thankyou!!
Answer: well, you look like you've nailed it. The only thing I might have added is some background on the times, the printing press, and how the reduction in the cost of books led to books no longer having to just be about religion and theology.
Question: How did the invention of the printing press affect literature during the Italian Renaissance? How did the invention of the printing press affect literature and the spread of ideas during the Italian Renaissance?
Answer: Before the printing press was invented the only people that could afford any type of book were very rich people (not that there was a ton of literature at this point). The printing press made books more affordable. But even bigger than that was the boom in literature created - before the majority of ALL literature had to do with the Roman Catholic church. Monks re-copied entire works - the most popular being the Bible, it would obviously take a very long time. Not to mention it would have been written in Latin. It wasn't until the printing press and Martin Luther came along that the Bible was out in languages OTHER than Latin.
When other could read the Bible for themselves that is when they started disagreeing with the church (Martin Luther - who translated the first Bible into German, started the Protestant Reformation with his 95 Thesis).
Still at this point, not everyone could read - but those that could were clamoring to read more and write too. The more that was published the more the ideas were spread through the country. I would say that the printing press was a big factor in the Italian Renaissance.
Hope that helps - if you need anything else - let me know
Question: How did the printing press cause the reformation? I am writing a paper and I need to know how the printing press caused the reformation, and how it lead to political, social, and economical changes. If you know any articles websites or books about this please let me know. Also any facts about the subject would be much appreciated.
Answer: The Printing Press certainly DID NOT cause the Reformation.
It certainly helped it along though.
Bulk printing copies instead of hand writing them out helped distribute documents 1000 times quicker than before. Which means a 1000 more people would get to read them.
It also meant that anyone with a printing press could PRINT just about anything out without the "blessings" or without the directions of the leaders, the Pope, or the Church.
Whereas pretty much the only people that were processing any kind of documents before the printing press was one of the above three.... the leaders, the Pope, and the Church.

Question: What cultural and social changes were brought about by the printing press that changed modern history? In every scientific poll on inventions, the printing press has consistently been voted the most significant invention of the past 2000 years. What cultural and social changes were brought about by the printing press that changed modern history? Do you agree with this assessment or would you vote for another invention?
Answer: Generally, the printing press allowed for the wide dispersal of literature of every kind, from the Bible to pamphlets promoting more democratic forms of government. Now, in order for those products to be understood, literacy must increase. Thus, immediately following the printing press was a huge increase in literacy. This has far reaching implications in culture and society. If more people can read, there is a greater demand for books, newspapers, and anything that promotes reading. Therefore, culture develops . Society changes because people can read and understand what effects laws and such have on them, so they can change how society is organized and operates.
Thus, the assessment is the most significant invention of the past 2000 years because it allows society to develop and flourish at all levels, so the poor and the rich advance together.
Question: What role did the printing press play in spreading the ideas of the Protestant Reformation? What role did the printing press play in spreading the ideas of the Protestant Reformation?
Answer: Martin Luther began the Protestant reformation where he posted his 95 theses in 1517 at the University of Wittenberg, Germany. The reason why it thrived was because of the printing press. The printing press was invented in Germany by Johannes Gutenberg and with it Martins Luther’s writings were duplicated and disseminated so quickly the church couldn’t stop it.
Question: what is the cheapest digital printing press available? I am interested in knowing what is the cheapest digital printing press available today. Answer: office depot
Question: Why is the printing press a significant invention? Why is the printing press a significant invention?
Answer: Think about how much time it would take one person to hand-write hundreds, or even thousands of pages of a book. Heck, even if you had a person for every chapter, copying a book could still take days, weeks or years even, writing every individual letter on every page by hand... and yet, this was how it was done from the beginning of the printed word until the 1400's, only 600 years ago - a really short time considering the tens of thousands of years of human history prior to it.
Now imagine the impact of being able to print hundreds of pages in the time it took someone to handwrite a single page.
Information could spread far faster than any other way before. It is one of the most significant inventions of human history.
Question: How did the invention of the printing press help change the world in the renaissance? I found some information about it, but I need more. Can any one help? Some points that I need covered(might help you answer the question) are...
- Life before the printing press
-Gutenburg and the invention of the printing press
-How the printing press affected the lives of people in the renaissance
-how it affected literacy, reformation, scientific revolution etc
Please please please help me! thankyou soo much in advance! x
Answer: When Martin Luther became disenfranchised with the Catholic church for selling indulgences (among other things), he wrote out his concerns which ultimately became his 95 theses. He nailed the 95 theses to the door at Wittenburg in Germany. This happened at the same time as the invention of the printing press. Someone copied the 95 theses before the Church could destroy them and they were widely distributed. This came at a time when people were discouraged from reading and thinking outside of the church's teachings. When these new ideas became available for everyone, many things changed, thus the beginning of the Reformation. BTW, yes, I am a Lutheran :)
Question: Anyone ever operate a flexo graphic printing press? I have been a Plate maker in offset printing for 5 years and ran a digital press for a year is this Flexo press hard to learn and understand? What does the assistant press man do on a Flexo graphic press? Any info would help. Thanks.
Answer: Working on a Flexo is much like any other presses with the BIG difference that the material stretches and has to be compensate with a certain tolerance. Flexography uses fast-drying inks.
I used to prepress for a labelling company and before outputting the films/plate, I needed to know how many teeth on the gear to compensate for the stretching. Otherwise, the finished product would be squished or over-stretched.
By adjusting the gear ratio to the cylinder, the films are outputted giving the impressiion that they are stretched slightly. This is to allow the plastic on the press to fall back to normal once printed.
