Question: Why would someone like to transfer to a Manufacturing Supervisor position? The is a question on a job interest form from my place of employment and want to know what most people would think an appropiate answer would be.
Thanks
Answer: The supervisory position would require more responsibility, challenge, and advancement. If you are wanting to advance within the company, you want to be promoted, since you feel you have the capabilities to meet the challenge and its responsibilities. I assume you have the talent, education requirements, and are willing to put in extra time to meet the needs of the company.
Question: are there good paying manufacturing production supervisor jobs in barks county,pa? i am thinking of moving my family to Barks county, PA.
and i would like to know if there are good paying manufacturing supervisor jobs there. around how much do they pay a year?
Answer: You should submit your resume to leading jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant in your area. In the meantime, look out for an option to work online. Although it wont pay you like full time job but you can make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit
http://ommc.blogspot.com
I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

Outline a plan you could present to upper managment that might prevent the need for union action. And then explain how this plan also represents your responsibility to the employees union.
Answer: Report:
The plant has been running very well and reaching every target fixed by the Head Office. But adding new capacity to the plant has become a compulsion on our part so that production bonus earned by the employees as well as profit of our company increase. It will also make our employees happy.
Question: What training should I ask for to be a Good supervisor (lower management) in manufacturing environment? I was told that I could seek training for potential supervisor position at my company. I do not know what to ask for though? I have an associates degree (administrative), I already am considered a back-up to my supervisor. I am confused, but do not want to let the opportunity pass me by.
Please let me know if you need additional details, thanks.
Answer: 1-Performance Management. Do you know what this is? It emcompasses, communication, coaching, teambuilding and setting performance standards. Any type of training in PM is crucial.
2-Effective communication on all levels of organization. This is highly important as well, as you will be rubbing elbows with the higher-ups.
3-See if your company, or an outside contractor provides training on how to write performance appraisals. Now that you are a manager, the future of your employees lies in the power of your pen.
Congratulations on your promotion! ;)
Question: Assume that you as a supervisor in a manufacturing plant have? heard rumors that the union, which has been virtually inactive until now, is planning to take complaints to upper management. Outline a plan you could present to management that might prevent the need for union action.Explain how this plan also represents your responsibility to the employee's uninon
Answer: as a supervisor, you should be fair and objective when dealing with both management and your workers. on one hand, as under management, you are responsible for letting them know what is happening with the union, and as a supervisor of people, you should also show concern for them, and listen to what they have to say.
since these are rumors at this point in time, you should be able to verify if these rumors are true or not. use your experience and peoples skills in order to form your own conclusion about the situation. Whatever conclusion you arrive at should be relayed likewise to management along with whatever evidence you have to substantiate what you are going to say to them.
always work in close coordination with the human resources head, whose skills and experience will also be helpful at this point in time.
good luck! mama ann
Question: Pass & Seymour/Legrand Manufacturing Supervisor - Molding salaries?
Answer: About $60k/
Question: do you think a good supervisor in a manufacturing plant could be a good supervisor in a bank?
Answer: I am asked this question all the time. Here's my answer: the CEO of ford doesn't know how to build a car. you hire the right person for the right job. if you're that right person, then the answer is "yes". it's all about management skills.
Question: What remedies are there for a work situation involving a supervisor that is verbally abusive? My husband is a supervisor at a local manufacturing facility. HIS supervisor has, on numerous occasions, been verbally abusive towards my husband and the other 3 supervisors at my husband's level during management meetings. The verbal abuse includes yelling, foul language, and threats of termination.
None of the abuse is discrimination based towards any of the "protected" classes such as age, race, handicap, etc - nor is it of a sexual nature. So from what I have been told, there is no real legal grounds to stand on against this abusive manager - you can't take legal action against someone for just being a really bad manager and a total jerk.
I have suggested to my husband that he file a complaint with the HR department, but he feels that it would be useless, as this particular manager is higher on the "organizational ladder" than the HR staff.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how my husband should handle this?
Please note that finding another job IS an option, but one that would cut my husband's income by about a third - with a family of six, this is something we can ill afford.
Answer: Ya got to train your bosses. He's got to give it back like he gets it. His boss treats him like that because he has told him that it's alright to do so by not talking back.
I work in construction and get sent to many different supers. People will say this one or that one is a real prick or whatever. I don't look for confrontation, but I don't put up with it, either. After I 'speak my mind', I watch them berate and badger other people, but generally leave me alone. I never threaten to quit or anything stupid like that.
If I'm doing a job and they come and ask what's taking so long in a rude or threatening way, I tell them to get their tools and help, otherwise, it will be done when I'm finished. Just general smart-*** stuff.
You have to be careful, though. You have to be prepared to get fired. "I was lookin' for a job when I found this one, and I can find another one just like it." It helps if you're skilled at what you do and are valued by the prick. Bullies usually back off when confronted. Forget HR.

Question: Assume that you--a supervisor in a manufacturing plant--have heard rumors that the union is planning to take.. ..complaints to upper management (any complaints you may think of).
Outline a plan you could present to upper management that might prevent the need for union action.
Explain how this plan also represents your responsibility to the employees' union
Answer: First off - if the union has a complaint they are suppose to address it first with the person whom the compliant is against - such as a supervisor.
If the dispute cannot be resolved then there is a formal grievance process that takes place.
The written grievance is brought forward by the union and addresses the issue and who it is against and why.
Management then investigates with labor relation's input to see if the complaint is valid and does it violate the collective bargaining agreement.
A resolution is offered and if both sides agree then it is resolved. If not, then it goes to arbitration.
