Question: Industrial Painter Sydney - Any recommendations? Looking for a good industrial painter in Sydney to take on a number of large wharehouse paint jobs in western Sydney. Can anyone recommend a good industrial painter?
Answer: Hi. I would recommend Eric from
http://www.SydneyPainters.com.au
We had Sydney Painters do a large job for us at Baulkham Hills in the Norwest Business Park.
They were always on time and left the place much cleaner than we expected. Also they came in on time and on budget.
Very good job all round actually.
Their number is 1300 289 675.
Hope this helps.
PS: They included a free colour consultation for us - ask him if they still do it for free......
Question: Hi,I study in mechatronic,and I need some help to get an idea for designing the arm painter for industrial rob? new idea about robotic
Answer: Robots I use have axis x,y,z,c.
x = forward / backward
y = left / right
z = up / down
c = rotation of "end of arm tool" (EOAT)
Movement is by servo motors controlled by programming software.
Additional movement of accessories on the EOAT is by pneumatics and prox switches also controlled by the same software.
Item on conveyor moves to scanner for reading of barcode. If barcode is not in scheme, item conveys to reject line. Barcode accepted, item conveys to pick up point and is sorted into proper container based on barcode.
Count of sorted items in each container is kept by separate computer which is the interface for the user. It contains different sortation schemes for selection at beginning of each run.
Differently shaped items could have barcode to be scanned for proper identification of EOAT movement pattern for spraying paint.
Carefully observe these robots in action. Vacuum is used for lifting on much of my other equipment and on some of these.

This one will have similar movements to what you are looking for.

Here is great video of x,y,z movement.

This is very similar to my ABB IRB 840's. This one uses vacuum for lifting. You can hear it. Mine uses "fingers."

Question: Industrial Paint Question I am having a problem with my industrial painter, and I can't seem to figure out what it is. I have castings (cast iron) that are primered by the foundry with "Checkrust Shopcoat Primer" - AKP-363 Red. They are then machined by my company, and washed. Next they go to my painter where they are sanded, wiped down with thinner, and the particulates blown off. Then another coat of primer is applied - "Devguard 4160" in Red. Then the topcoat of "Centari" Acrylic Enamel is applied - in a variety of colors.
My problem is adhesion. The topcoat, along with the 2nd layer of primer is peeling off, literally in sheets, with hardly any effort at all.
At first I thought it was a preparation issue – my painter could have been taking shortcuts, but the more I investigate, the less likely I believe that to be.
My next thought was curing time for the 2nd primer layer. So we ran an experiment: One casting was primered and allowed to cure for over 48 hours before applying the topcoat. Another casting was primered and allowed to cure for less than 2 hours before applying the topcoat. The results were the same – both units peeled extensively.
When the paint peels, it is bringing the 2nd layer of primer along with it; leaving the original layer of primer nearly intact.
My thought is this: either the 2nd layer of primer is not adhering properly with the 1st layer of primer (a chemical incompatibility?): or the solvents in the paint are penetrating the 2nd layer of primer, causing it to separate from the 1st layer of primer.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? How do I find basic knowledge on paint: hardeners, accelerators, etc. Where can I find basic knowledge on paint types and compatibility: enamels versus urethanes, versus polyurethanes, etc?
I am a novice in regards to paint types or chemicals used, so any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: Have a talk with your coatings vendor.

I have already calculated material cost, also power washing and renting a scissor lift---just don't know if there is an average price per sq ft like $1.75 I should charge. I am leasing there and the property mgr. is accepting bids and I have the time to do it at the moment. Any and all advice from experienced painters would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: im not sure your area(location) quick and easy way, take your material cost multiply x .09 =? then add that to the original materials list..... bammm
Question: I need a crash course in operating a spray booth for industrial part racks a.s.a.p.? I'm trying to land a job as a painter. I know a lot about a lot of things, but Iv'e never done this type of work before, even though I'm confident that I can do the job. I need some info on how much paint to use per rack, the types of sprayers, osha regs, cleanups, booth operations, and painting procedures. Will be shooting industrial racks for parts, things of like a John Deere nature. These racks are used to hold parts that come off of a indutrial line, the racks get scratched up, wheathered, smashed up, ran into by forktrucks, ect.... They come to get of course, repainted. I need a crash course on how to operate the sprayers, and setting up the racks and the things that are mentioned here earlier. A.S.A.P.!
Answer: You can fake it pretty good by asking them how "they " do it . You can tell them the last company did it in a slow and ineffective way and you want to know there method.
Question: Where can I get job descriptions? I need job descriptions for these positions:

-Carpenter
-Plumber
Thank you so much!
Answer: Just go to any jobs search website and look how described applications, for example here: http://www.bokrin.com/
Question: Boulder? denver? for an alternative type artist / industrial musician / craft maker / hockey player? I'm moving from Los Angeles within the next year or so and am looking at my options. I moved here from the Detroit area for an internship in a career i decided not to persue and am now looking for somewhere more permanent. I want a big city but with suburbs and nature. My fiance is working on a degree in Environmental Science so this is why Boulder is on our list.
I'm a special effects aritst (by hobby), painter, crafter etc and I play roller hockey. He does industrial music and plays hockey. We're looking for a place that has a good art and music scene (rock, industrial, alternative etc). we don't want to move to the northwest though we really like portland. So I'm kind of looking for something similar. Would Boulder be a good fit?
Answer: Boulder is a fine city, but Denver seems more like what you are looking for. It's great here.

Answer: Fort Collins, is a better choice.. Great town and there is a university there, so it's a collage town, with small town charm. Lots of diversity of peoples.
It isn't a "big city", but it has all the amenities your looking for. And talk about views ! It's beautiful !
It was voted the number 2 best city to live in the US.
One of the first things you notice about this Rocky Mountain city is that practically every new road has a bike lane. Even the wheelless can get in on the action now that Fort Collins has a bike library: Residents and visitors can check out a bicycle for up to seven days, free.
The city's Old Town historic district contains four microbreweries and more than two dozen restaurants. Bioscience and tech companies, including Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard and Kodak, keep employment opportunities high. Colorado State University occupies a scenic spot in the middle of town. And the city just received a grant from the Department of Energy to start a solar-energy project downtown.
Lots to do, year round.
Plus is close, (about 1 hour north) to Denver.
Lived there myself at one time..
I really fell in love with the people and the friendly town. It is a great place to raise kids.
