Answer: u r in IAF so u will be having the experience in engine and on the airframe. u can give the dgca paper for ame and only u will req is to fullfill the experience req for the IAF personnel coz u r not getting training from recognised institute. get the CA9 form from dgca website and fill that form with details and get it signed by the QCM of ur base you will have to study for te papers and i dont think best option coz u cant get into a training school of ame

Question: What was an "Engine Fitter - Ships"? One of my ancestors is down in the 1901 census as a "Engine Fitter - Ships". He also had a lodger who was a "Ships Painter". Obviously sounds like they both worked in a ship industry somewhere, but I wondered where it would be likely they would have worked in Barrow? (Thats where they are from). Also, what kind of things would a "Engine fitter - ships" do? Were they well paid? and was the job common? As always, answers/help much appreciated.

Answer: The shipping industry in the UK up until 1940`s was largest ship building industry in the world, 3/4all ships built in the world were built in the UK from dozens of shipyards around the coast. Possible he worked at the Barrow-in-furness shipyards, there would have been many firms there. He would have been semi-skilled worker, engineer who's primary task would have been the fitting and installation of ships engines At the turn of the century the Royal Navy was as large as the next two largest navies in the world,the ship building industry was contracted out to either commercial or naval works,with companies either being sub contracted to larger firms supplying parts or working on projects using the in house workforce. There were literally thousands of men in the ship building industry with whole communities/towns working in the yards. If you knew the firm he worked for you could do some research of your own to search out old company documents.

Question: What other engines would fit my 2000 honda civic if i wanted to engine swap? Hi i am looking to engine swap my 2000 honda civic (coupe) and don't know what other engines fit its body. Like what engines from other stock cars and/or and turbo or improved engines made for the civic are there? thanks.

Answer: Any engine will fit any car. i have seen a CRX (really small honda) with a V8 in it. it was a beast. i would go with the K20 as well or second choice a B18, or H22. all three are great engines.

Question: What engines will fit as a replacement engine for a 1999 jeep wrangler? My coworkers 1999 Jeep Wranglers engine blew and she wants to replace the engine. It currently has a 2.5 engine. Is it only replacable with a jeep wrangler 2.5 engine. Would any chrysler 2.5 engine fit or from a cherokee. any other engines? it would need to fit without a crazy amount of modification. ive heard jeep motor mounts are very specific and only lineup with specific engines please let me know if you know anything thanks

Answer: You should be able to fit any one of the engines that came in the car that year in the car with the correct cross bar and motor mounts. These engines include: 2.5 L AMC 150 I4, 4.0 L AMC 242 I6. As you can expect the 2.5 L would be the easiest install. You may be able to fing the motor mounts you need at a local junk yard. Installing any new engine would be difficult. The only wory I have is you might run into problems with the accesories.

Question: How do you know if another motorbike engine fits your motorbike? I have a 1980 Yamaha RX125 with a non functioning motor. If i am going to get another motor, does it have to be a RX125 engine or can the others fit as well? How do i know if the other engines fit? Which engine would fit, affordable ( This is my school project), and easy to get? I can show the photos of my motorbike, just sent me an email. Cheers I cannot afford to repair the current engien as the workshop say it will cost around 500 bucks.

Answer: I am afriad the first responder is wrong - it does not have to be the same motor at all. It purely depends just how much work you are willing to do to get another engine to fit. The RX125 uses one of Yamaha's long running series of 125 engines so the first thing to do is a little research and find out what other models used that motor. If that fails then the next logical step would be to look at other Yamaha 125 models of a similar vintage but perhaps with different engines and do some measurements to see what will physically fit inside the frame. The mounting points may well be different so that is where you will need to get creative in the workshop and start making up mounting plates and so on. The reality is that if you are willing to put the effort in then you could squeeze many motors into that bike of even bigger engine capacity, though that is not reccomended as the frame and brakes of the RX125 would struggle to handle much more in the way of power. The fact of the matter is that if you can source an RX motor then of course it would be easiest but in any case it would appear that you are working on a tight budget and 500 bucks is not a lot of cash, so if that is a problem then getting a second hand motor will not guarantee you that it will be any better. So what is the problem with the engine that you have got already? If it is a school project then I assume you have access to a work shop, so why not fix it yourself? Question: will a northstar cadillac engine fit in a 1990 deville or would there have 2 b adjustments? I have a 1990 Cadillac Deville 4.5 Liter v-8, But, I would like 2 know if a 1995-2001 Northstar engine would fit without any adjustments?

Answer: it will go into the space but better get a welder and a lot of wires! have done it for a friend and almost needed a Donner car for the pcm the trans and exhaust and all outher parts! cheper to by a new car with the northstar!

Question: Would the 1995 Ford SHO Engine fit and work properly in a 1995 Ford Taurus GL? I'm planning on redoing the engine in my taurus, and I was thinking of replacing it with the SHO engine. Would it fit and work properly in my GL , same year. Thanks

Question: Will an engine from a standard Paseo fit into a Tercel with an automatic transmission? I have a '93 Tercel - automatic with a sick engine. Will a Paseo engine fit? If so are any modifications required? Does the engine control computer, or exhaust need to be changed? Has anyone ever done this change?

Answer: The Tercel and Paseo use the same chassis, so I'd imagine the engines are also interchangeable.

Question: I got a suzuki 125 marauder free but engine is seized. Will an 800cc engine fit in this frame, if so what mod? Does a vz800 engine fit into a 125 marauder frame? By the way I am not a learner and am simply asking from a project viewpoint. I am an experienced 1000cc rider.

Answer: No is the first quick answer as the frame is not likely to withstand the 6 -7 times bigger engine power

I need to have a reconditioned engine fitted by a reputable business into my Hyundai Excel and i dont know how much to expect to pay,including the cost of the recoed engine and fitting,how much should it cost,and whos the best engine company in the perth or southwest district,maybe someone reading has had a four cylinder recoed engine fitted and maybe able to advise me,thanks Curious George...
