My friend from Washington just finished building his own computer was telling me how easy it is to make a home built computer. Question: What's wrong with my bottom mount freezer - freezer works, fridge not cooling? I have a Kenmore Model #795.65209402 Bottom Mount Freezer. The freezer is freezing, but the fridge is not cooling. There is no air flowing from the freezer to the fridge. The fan does not work down there. I think the technician found that there is no power going to the fan (he was not forthcoming with information). Well, I have been waiting for him to get back to us and he says he does not know if there is a part to fix it. Well, I did some searching and found that there are a few parts. I think a sensor is the problem (part #6615JB2005C on Sears part search). It costs $12.99 but is not found within 60 miles of where I live. I was thinking about getting the fan, fan assembly, motor, and sensor (for about $50.00 total) from Sears online and replacing the crap myself. Does anyone know if just anyone can fix this problem (i.e., is this a DIY project??)? Okay - the technician called and said he needs to replace the main control board. He said while it is a Kenmore appliance, it is a GE board made by LG Electronics. Now it is back in my home warranty company because the technician could not find the part. Does this seem logical?

Answer: It is certainly a DIY project, anyone can do it who has any idea about fixing things, I know I could do it. I agree about also getting the manual or at the very least printing the diagram. I presume the technician isn't a Sears employee, otherwise I'd also suggest to complain about him as well. If the fridge is more than a few years old, you might think about buying a new one, it will pay for itself in a few months to two years, because of the greater efficiency of new refrigerators, they're all designed nowadays to be EnergyStar compliant, and use so much less energy. That would be a better, greener alternative, actually. My huge bottom freezer fridge was using nearly $45 per month electricity about 10 years ago, that's how much my bill dropped when I turned it off since I was never there (staying with bf most of the time).

Question: Computer Technician degrees? Hey, I was thinking of starting as a computer technician and eventually work my way up to a larger company. I know the A+ certification is a must but some of the larger companies require that you have a 2-4yr degree. It’s unlisted of the type of degree required. What degree should I mainly focus on besides the A+ certification? I currently have Associates in both Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. Some classes I have taken as part of my degrees are: Computer Application (Word, Excel, Access...), Operating systems, PC tech & troubleshoot, Networking, and some programming (C++, Assembly Lang).

The Assembly Technician is responsible for his own work, including non compliances on final tests (if appears) 3. We only verify the bolting torque if required on assembly plan As we do not have non compliances records regarding to bolting grades, our costumers are not worried about this kind of matter, and we keep doing the same procedure/method

Question: What should I do about my career? I really want to have a successful career as an electronic engineer. I'm currently working as an electronic technician now, but I'm not happy with this job because it is mostly assembly work. When I first got my AA degree in electronics, I was a little curious about the field because there was such a broad range of things that you could do. I switched three jobs and I am on my fourth one now. I stayed at the previous jobs from 6 to 8 months each. I really want a component level testing job. That's why I'm thinking of quiting this one, but I worry that being an electronic technician is irrelevant to being an electronic engineer. I know that many engineers never had a trouble shooting background. I wonder if I should switch jobs or just wait until I receive my BA in about 10 months. I know it looks bad to jump from job to job.
