Question: Can a parking control policeman give other kinds of tickets? I've seen a truck that says, Police, parking control. Can they give other kinds of tickets besides parking tickets? For example-speeding tickets?
Answer: If the officer is sworn then yes if not then no you could call and ask the local office just don't dial 911 find the non emergency number.
Question: what to do wen a vehicle is marked for 72 hours? ( in parking control)? im a parking control officer and i wanna know wat i have to do when i am asked to mark a car for parking in an lot for more than 72 hours!!!!
Answer: If you ARE the parking control officer, then you should KNOW what to do. Ask your boss. It is him or his boss that sets policy. It may be that the next step is to call the tow company to have the vehicle removed. But, you better be sure that this IS the company policy or YOU could get in big trouble.
Question: Does anyone know what is on the parking control exam?
Answer: In Michigan the "Basic Control" portion of the driving test consists of:
Straight line Stop - approach a marked line 1 foot wide, smoothly bring the vehicle to a stop with the front bumper over the marked line without going past it.
Back in Parking - From the straight line Stop, the back in parking spot is to the left side of the car. Back the car smoothly into the space without stopping until the car is completely within the marked space and stop without going over any of the side or back line markers.
Parallel Parking - Pull out of the Back In Parking, turning right and pulling alongside of and past the marked Parallel Parking Space.
Stop and reverse direction backing smoothly into the parking space until you can pull forward to complete the maneuver. All without multiple stops (each additional stop cost you a fault point) and completing the maneuver, stopped completely inside the marked space.
Hints - you are allowed 7 fault points before you fail. Practice the stop and back in parking until you can do both flawlessly, they are not really that difficult to master and with a little extra practice you should be able to accomplish both with one or no fault points, when you get to the parallel parking part of the test remember any extra stops cost you as much as being over the line, therefore simply back into the space and get as much of the car into the box as you can in 2 moves (backward, stop / forward, stop ) and use your fault points to cover the out of bounds fault(s). This is how I trained my young drivers and none of them has ever failed the basic control portion of the test. Once again make NO unnecessary stops during this portion of the test because they cost you points!.
This will be the only time in your life that when parking, you will be penalized more for taking your time and getting safely into the parking place than you will be penalized for crossing the line - which in real life would mean you hit another car! Yes I know - just another case of the law not making sense compared to real life....
Please drive safely - never Text or use a hand held phone when driving, both activities are extremely dangerous to do when driving and in many states they are completely illegal.
Question: what the wage for a parking control officer?
Answer: We let them live, isn't that enough?
Question: Where is aircraft wheel brake control? (Please help me to locate where it is, in the cockpit)? I like to know about how to brake both military and civilian aircrafts.
I can locate the spoiler control, auto-brake control, thrust reversal control, and parking brake control from Ms Flight Simulator. But I still can locate where the wheel brake control is.. So, please help me. If you have the picture, I like to see it.
Answer: In a real aircraft it is on the top of the rudder pedals ( you just push both forward) in FSX it is period (.)
Question: Do you think handicap parking has gotten out of control? I have to laugh now as I go to some parking lots and they have spaces for pregnant mothers, elderly people, and disabled people (which should have one anyhow). It makes me mad, because they take the first 8-10 spaces on every row and I think most of those types of people should walk anyway. Do you agree with me?
You are missing the point, you don't even need a handicap sign to go into some of these other stalls, therefore technically they shouldn't be a legal stall. If you have the handicap sign on your rearview, obviously the doctor thinks you qualify. However, those that don't that park in these extra spaces, to me don't really have a handicap. I know someone who has a handicap thing in their car and they are normal, not old, but because they have ostereoporosis - the doctor gave them a permit (I think this is a bit ridiculous). That is my angle, not people who have obvious disabilities that have limit mobility of course they deserve the spots.
Answer: I don't think its fair to say they should walk anyway, although there are some people who pretend to be disabled there are others that really do need the spaces closer to the shops ect. Its just a shame that people would violate the spaces and upset people just trying to get a parking space.
Question: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Got a "Notice of Trespass" on my car from Parking Control Unit. Is that even legal? Hi all I know its a shot in a dark but wirth anyhow, any kind of help, links, forums ANYTHING will help.
Got a Notice of Trespass from parking guys for Parking without a permit, r those enforcable and how can I complain about this "scam" going on as they claim I damaged the property in the ammount of $250 ....... yeah so ANY help would be great.
TYVM
It was on Private property and NOT issued by police, cops told me not to worry about it but I need a more proffesional advise
Answer: On private property, they gave you notice that you were not permitted to park there, and if you failed to remove your vehicle, they could call a tow company to remove it as you'd been notified.
Since you did remove the vehicle, there was nothing for the police to do, so they told you not to worry about it. Had it stayed on the property, the police would have been called to enforce the towing removal of the vehicle for trespass.
As for any damage, it will be up to the company to pursue a claim in civil court for recovery. If it happens, you would be served with a summons with plenty of time to prepare for the case. It would be up to the company to prove your responsibility for the damage. The police are not involved in civil suits.
Question: Please can you advise me what you pay for residents parking per vehicle in any LONDON BOROUGH? I would like to compare what different London Borough Councils charge for residential parking permits within controlled parking zones.
Is it in the residents interest, or to line their pockets?
Answer: I live in Hillingdon - the first permit is free, a second or third can be bought for £40.00 each.
Question: Out of control, unsupervised kids running around in parking lot and climbing on, jumping off dumpsters? This evening there were anywhere from 6-10 unsupervised children (ranging in age from about 3 - 12 or so) running around in my apt. complex parking lot, climbing on and jumping off the dumpsters and jumping on some mattresses that someone had thrown out by the dumpster.
I wanted to yell out my window at them and tell them to stop and get lost but a lot of good that would have done. They probably would have laughed at me and kept doing it anyway. I tried to get my b/f to do it because a man's voice probably would have been more intimidating to them but he wouldn't do it.
The area these kids were doing this was near my car so we decided to scare them by setting of my car's horn alarm thingy. It was funny the first time we did it...they all ran away. But as soon as we stopped the horn alarm they came back. We did it again but they weren't phased the second time.
Any good ideas on what I can do if these rugrats come back again? Thanks.
I don't know if this is necessarily an etiquette question but I couldn't find any categories that really fit my question. Yahoo! Answers should really make a "neighborhood" category or something.
Oh, and I don't have a clue as to who these kids' parents are...otherwise I would have complained to them.
Answer: Call the police department or the apartment complex manager. You're completely right - you really don't know the parents of all of these children. But the police department or the apartment manager should be able to find out, and they have the tools to properly punish the parents for not providing sufficient supervision for their children. It's unfortunate that so many parents these days are so unconcerned when it comes to actions that could lead to their children being seriously injured.
Question: How do cars with automatic and padleshift gears park as in when you use the clutch to control the speed? in a manual car you use the clutch to control your speed when you are parking or doing 3-point turns ect. how would you do that in a automatic gear car and a paddleshift car because as far as i know they dont have a clutch. so how would they actualy make the car crawl forwards and backwards to park.
thanks
Answer: Once you have come to a complete stop, the transmission will automatically select low gear, but you can force the selection if you wish. When you release the brake, the car will move forward or back, depending on gear selected. By keeping your foot off the throttle, you will not pick up speed. If you feel you are moving too fast, then use the brake. In practice, even with a manual, you should not be slipping the clutch in order to control speed.
