Question: If your realtor doesn't show for an open house, is that legal grounds for terminating your contract with them? She has basically pushed the selling of our house onto her inexperienced assistant. This person was not in the picture when we signed the contract with her. This assistant showed up late for the first open house, couldn't properly process the sale price for our house on a deal that fell through, and then didn't bother to show up for the second open house. Can we legally terminate our contract with their company?

Answer: Sure sounds like she isn't doing her job. You can't just declare it terminated though. I'd go to the head of that realty office (even if your realtor IS the head) and tell them you want to terminate the contract and tell them why. If they refuse, you'd probably have to get a lawyer and go to court to get it terminated - and by that time, the contract would probably have expired. Good luck!
