In other words, how can a person defend themselves against such an agency when they have no access to a lawyer?
Answer: Can you get a court appointed lawyer,or legal aid. Some lawyers will let you pay as you go for family court. Keep going down the names in the phone book. You can all so call family services for info on how to get a legal council. How about children services? How about the Mayors office? Domestic Relations office? Hot lines in phone books? Question: Will court ordered mental health services show up on a pre employment background check? I need a job and I was wondering if my past court order to receive mental health services will show up on any background checks.
Would I be able to pass a bank's pre employment background check?
Answer: Only a criminal record will show up. The sentencing should not show up. If a a record (conviction) is found, It is public record and is available if searched for.
Question: Have you heard of court mediation services? I have tried to research this topic but can not really find anything. I was wondering if anybody has used such a service as this? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!
Answer: If you can avoid it, don't use it. Mediation is a legally binding arrangement where a plaintiff and defendant agree to accept a ruling decided upon by a mediator. My experience has shown that the mediator always comes up with something in the middle even when the issue is clean cut in favor of one of the parties.
Question: If judge approves house detention are you released to jail first or court services to set things up?
Answer: Jail first to be processed, then you will go to house detention.
Question: What types of court ordered community services is there to choose from? I got into a "run-in" with Jonny Law last weekend, sparing the details I have been approved for a Diversion to do community service since it is a first offense. What are my options? Anything even remotely interesting?
Answer: It really depends on the judge/court, but usually for a first time offender(meaning never in legal trouble before for anything), the offender will be given a list of choices OR he/she may even come up with their own "punishment".
There are the obvious community service type opportunities such as: picking up litter, mowing grass at public cemeteries, or helping out at the local homeless shelter or food pantry. Generally, the court will approve of anything that helps out the general public, as long as there is someone who will "sign off" on your work & take responsibility for monitoring your job & verifying the amount of time you worked.
Also, the type of offense that you committed sometimes plays a role in which community service you will be allowed to perform. Usually, that type of restriction is used in cases where the individual is a repeat offender and the community service will relate to the "crime". For example, if someone is caught defacing property with graffiti, then the court may have the offender assist in the power-washing of tagged walls as community service.
Overall though, if this was your first time getting into trouble, just find something you like & volunteer your time. For example, if you play/like sports, then volunteer to referee a soccer game (unpaid, of course) or hold a down marker at a Pop Warner football game. Tutor kids or give music lessons. Anything that you have an interest or skill in, find a way that you can use your knowledge to "give back" to the community.
Question: How do I find out How to convert court fines into community services? My son is in the Phoenix House and Is trying to take care of his fine by communtiy services.
Answer: In some areas - and for certain crimes - this is very common. The best, quickest and cheapest way to find out is to ask the court clerk, who will either tell you - No, we don't do that - or will probably tell you that you would need to appear before the judge and ask him or her. I do not know what Phoenix House is - perhaps some kind of rehab center, half-way house, etc? If he is there, under someone's supervision, they may be able to point him in the right direction also. It has been my experience over the years in hearing others talk about getting "community service" instead of paying hefty fines for something that it can save you "big bucks" and also do a lot of good. I hope that this is the case with your son - wish you and him well.

Question: As a Court Services Officer in a Magistrates Court, what can I expect to be asked in an interview...? and what might the typical duties be ?
Answer: They will ask you alot of questions?
Question: Help regarding letter from Her Majesty's Court Services? I received a hand delivered letter today from HMCS saying that the court wants me to contact them so they can serve documents upon me. The case number was prefixed SFP and the case is between the County court and myself. Does anyone know what this is likely to be? Does the prefix SFP indicate anything? Quite nervous about this!!
Thanks
Answer: Perhaps the most innocuous of the new acronyms, TKU encapsulates the new statutory standard of conduct for pension scheme trustees, set out in Sections 247-249 PA04. With effect (probably) from April 2006, trustees will be required: (i) to be “conversant with” the scheme’s trust deed and rules, its SIP and SFP and any other document recording the trustees’ policy relating to the scheme’s PR.
Probably not what you want but all I could fine. Why not ring and ask them?

Question: What's an easy way to remember the court case Webster v Reproductive Health Services? :] ? I was thinking something like Web - a spider's web is very complex, and so is the topic of abortion.
But that sounds a bit cheesy. :/
Any creative ideas?
For those of you who don't know, Webster v Reproductive Health Services was about a Missouri law that restricted the use of state funds for abortion. It limited privacy and Roe v Wade.
Answer: A though one to find a mnemonic for...
Webster wrote a ictionary, and 'abortion' starts with an 'a'?
...yours was better.
Question: What happens if your landlord services you eviction papers but you pay immediately and avoid going to court? My landlord served me eviction papers for past rent but I paid it right away so I avoided court and was able to stay in my apartment. I stayed for an additional 10 months until she sold the building. Now she is asking for the legal fees associated with the eviction. Do I have to pay these since I never went to court? Can she wait 10 months to ask me for the legal fees?
Answer: Tell her you believe she went to the office supply, bought the forms, and filled them out her self.........the scare tactic worked, there are no legal fee's.........she got her rent for the next 10 months.................once she servered you, then accepted the rent, shes out, and back to sq. one..............99% of the time, once theyve paid the filing fees,
they wont accept any part of the rent, because they will get it back in court...........
Question: what does a social services court report consist of?
i am applying for parental responsibilty for my daughter as i look after her most of the time there have been some violent incidents at her mums house so i got social services involved they have been involved for about 3 years now and said they would back me up in court.
would the report have any bearing on the judges decision
Answer: That depends on the subject, is it child protection? Is it for the elderly, or disabled? You need to give a bit more info first.
Yes, this report would have bearing on the judges decision. It would probably be doctors reports, any information from school, is she goes, her statements, social workers statements, results of any phsychological assesments on the mother, anything from the police, if it went that far, etc. They are pretty detailed when in comes to child protection, and depending on how bad the incidents were, I would guess you have a pretty good shot. Although, they would most likely want to do some checks on you as well, including a home visit, and interview.
Good luck, I hope it all turns out ok. Especially for your daughter.
Question: List 3 community services that provide support within the court system? also What provisions does the children’s court offer to protect the privacy of witnesses and children who are prosecuting an adult?
Answer: Red Cross provides tea and coffee making facilities at many courthouses for people waiting for their case to be heard.
Meal on Wheels and The Salvation Army offer to give offenders work experience while they are serving their Community Service sentences and then provide a report back on their performance to the magistrate who imposes a penalty based on the merits or otherwise of the report.
Question: Can I do Volunteer services instead of Community Services due to court order?
Answer: What do you think Community Services are, other then court ordered volunteer services.
