what are all your tasks. what are your responsibilities. and what u really do.
Answer: Emptying bedpans
Wiping incontinent (pooping) patients
Cleaning dentures
Clipping toenails
That's about it.
Question: Whats the difference between a Medical Assistance and a License Practical Nurse? Hi can someone help me figure out the difference Between a medical assistance and a License Practical Nurse. They kind of seem as the same job. Are they the same job???
Answer: LPNs care for patients in many ways. Often, they provide basic bedside care. Many LPNs measure and record patients’ vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. They also prepare and give injections and enemas, monitor catheters, dress wounds, and give alcohol rubs and massages. To help keep patients comfortable, they assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, moving in bed, standing, and walking. They might also feed patients who need help eating. Experienced LPNs may supervise nursing assistants and aides.
The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioner’s specialty. In small practices, medical assistants usually do many different kinds of tasks, handling both administrative and clinical duties and reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner. Those in large practices tend to specialize in a particular area, under the supervision of department administrators.
Medical assistants who perform administrative tasks have many duties. They update and file patients’ medical records, fill out insurance forms, and arrange for hospital admissions and laboratory services. They also perform tasks less specific to medical settings, such as answering telephones, greeting patients, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and handling billing and bookkeeping
One of the chief differences is that length of schooling required. LPN/LVNs have some job mobility, where as Medical Assistants tend to be stuck doing that work until they acquire more training or leave the field entirely and do more straight foward administrative work.
Question: can i have a comfortable lifestyle if i become a practical nurse? Iam asking because i was thinking about becoming a practical nurse.
Answer: LPNs are being phased out except in nursing homes. So if that's what you want to do then do it. Why not just go ahead and become an RN?
Question: Will I get work if I am a registered practical nurse, or do I have to be a registered nurse? If I go to college and become a registered practical nurse in Ontario, will I be able to get work, or do employers only want registered nurses (who have gone to university)? Please let me know if you or someone you know went to college to become a nurse and now can't find work because you/they are not technically a registered nurse.
Answer: Yes, the job outlook for LPNs is great, EXCEPT you probably won't find work in a hospital. Hospitals are currently "out dating" LPNs/LVNs, But home cares and nursing homes are hiring like crazy. Basically RNs don't want to take care of the elderly, so all that's left are the CNAs and LPNs/LVNs.
Question: What is the difference between a registered nurse, a practical nurse and a resident care attendant? I just want to know the main duties and responsibilities of each, and how practical nursing is different from being a resident care attendant.
Answer: A registered nurse usually has at least an Associate of Science degree and is responsible for all the patients in his or her care. An RN can perform assessments on patients, give certain medications that a practical nurse cannot and many other duties too long to list here. AN LPN can give medications (oral medicine), assist with collection of data from the patient. A care attendant is just that, he or she assists with basic functions of life such as bathing, toileting, feeding, taking temperatures, blood pressures and pulses and then gives them to the RN or LPN.
Question: I am a graduate of nursing in the philippines,do i need to study again to be a practical nurse? I am nursing gradute form the philippines but now we are here in canada,do i need to study again to be a practical nurse here or not?can i just take an exam?
Answer: You can take the exam by presenting proof that you finished. You can find a more detailed answer at http://pinoynurse.me/
Question: What exactly is a practical Nurse? On some university websites they have Practical Nursing,
is that like a baccalaureate in nursing or an associates degree.
Answer: It depends on the university/school, but as far as I know, a practical nurse or LPN (licensed practical nurse) has gone through a little less schooling than a RN. They still make pretty good money, though.
Question: Are there any nurse refresher courses for practical nursing that can be done online? I am a nurse who has been out of practice since 1999. I would like to reinstate my lisence but am required to take a refresher course. Anything information would be appreciated!
Answer: You should check with your local community college or university. They will have refresher courses that you can take. Good Luck
Question: Is a neonatal nurse a practical nurse? I want to be a neonatal nurse and I'm not sure if thats also a practical nurse. Thank you so much!
Answer: A Neonatal nurse can be either a practical nurse or a registered nurse....
They are different licenses based on amount schooling... and level of expertise. ..but Either can work in a Neonatal unit which takes care of babies....
Question: How long does it take for an LPN (Liscensed Practical Nurse) to become and RN (Registered Nurse)? I'm considering being a nurse but you have to be an LPN then become and RN.( That's what I have heard so far) How long does that take and what classes in college do I have to take to become one?
Answer: You do not have to be an LPN first (to my knowledge) in any state before getting the RN. You could call schools in your area to confirm.
If you choose to go this route, it's about 12-15 months to earn the LPN then another 12-15 months to earn an associates degree RN after that. But if you want the RN, just go straight into an RN program. Either the associates route, which will take 2 years minimum but you may need more time for pre reqs, or a BSN is 4 years minimum if you go full time every semester.
Every school's nursing programs have different admissions requirements, but most require general freshman biology, gen. chemistry, anatomy & physiology, and sometimes microbiology. You will also have general education courses in things like English, psychology, history, sociology, etc.
It's best to visit with the school's admissions reps to find out their specific policies and there are usually very detailed in how you have to apply to the nursing program.
Question: What is the difference in practical nursing and just being a registrated nurse? I am a senior in high school and I am confused about my major. Will someone please help me...
Answer: Both are honorable professions that will result in you helping lots of people. RNs usually have a higher level of education and more responsibility than an LPN. RNs are able to perform nursing at a higher level in terms of delegation, skills/procedures, and positions (advanced practice nursing, management, etc). Both professions require education beyond high school, with LPN programs usually being shorter in length. Both also require liscensure by a regulating body (usually the state). I think it is important for you to maybe do some internet searches to read more about the limitations and possibilites of both fields. Another great thing to do is to try and shadow both a registered nurse and a liscenced practical nurse to understand just what their every-day responsibilities are like. Just keep in mind that people who hold either title can have a wide variety in what they do for a living. I am a registered nurse and am in school right now earning my master's degree in nursing to be a nurse anesthetist (I'll provide anesthesia to patients having surgery). There are also registered nurses who deliver babies, visit and provide care to people in their homes, and nurses who help develop public health programs. The field of nursing is vast, and there is a nursing shortage right now, so I am glad to see you are interested in the field. I feel that as a registered nurse, you may have an opportunity to do more things than as an LPN, but as I said before, both are good professions that are very rewarding!

Answer: If you want the opportunity to earn a lot more money in the long run and be able to work anywhere in the world, I would do the Cisco training. This is the ultimate certification course for networking technology, and I can tell you that this industry is growing on a worldwide level. Check out the Cisco Learning Network if you want to meet some other IT professionals and get more information about the CNNA: https://cisco.hosted.jivesoftware.com/index.jspa?ciscoHome=true?utm_source=blog+commenting&utm_medium=media&utm_content=Yahoo&utm_campaign=Domestic
