Question: How do I get a pharmacy intern permit in the State of NJ and what are the requirements? Does anybody have an info on how to get a pharmacy intern license in NJ? I've searched EVERYWHERE and can't find anything!!
Answer: Not every state licenses pharmacy interns. My state has a legal difference between them, but you just need to get a pharm tech license. This is something your college will take care of.
Question: Question about being a pharmacy intern? I currently work for RiteAid as just a pharmacy assistant. I am going to be able to be an intern starting this summer. Does anyone know how much RiteAid pays their interns? Also, do i have to sign a contract saying ill be a RiteAid intern for the 4 professional year? Does any of this happen at different places like walgreens, cvs, giant eagle..etc..
any intern information or own experiences would be helpful thanks!
Answer: http://www.riteaid.com/careers/student_grad.jsf
See "Drugstore Internships"
Question: Do CVS pharmacy interns get paid? I got an offer to work as an intern over the summer at a CVS but I'm not sure if I'd be getting paid or not. Does anyone know from experience or otherwise?
Answer: Yeah I know at Walgreens they start at $13 for a first year intern, and my one friend makes $17 (but that could be b/c she's certified, not sure). But if Walgreens pays, most likely CVS does too.
Question: In Illinois, how do you apply for a Pharmacy Intern license? I am a PharmD student in Georgia. I am trying to get a pharmacy internship in Illinois. How do I apply for the internship license?
Answer: look it up on their website.
Question: How can you find out if a place will hire you as a Pharmacy Tech Intern? I am going to try to get my diploma as a Pharmacy Tech. I just wondered though, how do you go about finding out if a place like a hospital or place like walgreens would hire you as an intern until you get your diploma. Anyone know how you would find out?
Answer: Your best bet is probably your neighborhood Pharmacy store. Somewhere like Walgreens, CVS and such hire people as phamacy clerks and cashiers until they pass their Pharmacy Tech exam. It would be a good idea to work as a clerk or cashier or even volunteer until you take the exam. This will help you learn more as you study to become a Technician. In addition to however you study for the exam I would recommend you to buy some Pharmacy technician book at the bookstore and read through it and study it as well. Also take as many practice exams as you can. I hope I have helped! good luck!!!
Question: Does anyone know of a pharmacy that is hiring interns or clerks?
Answer: The pharmacys we get our prescriptions from, the personnel working there have name tags and FYI from what I can tell many are PHARMACY TECHNICIANs which to me implies they completed a 2 year course at the nearby community college and most likely have an Associates Degree.
Of course, each pharmacy is located in a larger drug, grocery or retail store <= but my interpretaion of your question is that your desire was to work back where the prescriptions are being filled.
Hope the Above Info Helps!
Question: Pharmacy students/interns/pharmacist..Which chain store is best to work for when I graduate??
Answer: I started my career with Walgreens Pharmacy chains 6 yrs. ago and now earn $70,000.00 plus... the incentives include profit sharing and the growth potential never stalls... definately go for it... if you are on top of your game you are in, no problem~~~
Question: Will interning at a pharmacy help become a pharmaceutical rep? I'm going after a degree in Biochemistry with hopes to be a pharmaceutical rep. If I intern at the pharmacy at my work will that work to my advantage?
Answer: Volunteering at a pharmacy would be good, but SALES experience would be better. Applications for pharmaceutical sales positions include sections on sales experience, but the ones I filled out didn't include a spot for science experience at all. When it all comes down to it, it is much more a sales position than a biological one. I think your time might be better spent trying out a part time sales position somewhere than working in a pharmacy. There are pharm reps on this site though, they might be able to offer more info than I can.
Question: I am a pharmacy intern looking to work at a pharmacy that pays the most, how much do places like Kmart pay?
Answer: Why don't you call your local store and talk to the human resource manager and find out? The answer will be different depending on what part of the country your are living in and what the current demand for pharmacy workers are in your particular area.
Question: Does anyone know what the pay of a last year pharmacy school intern is? I am referring to the year in pharmacy school the student is essentially just doing rotations and not having class. Is it about half the pay of a pharmacist or more?
Answer: You don't get paid, you pay to work (tuition). For the student, it's worse than being free labor.
Question: Anyone know if a highschool student can intern at a Pharmacy over the summer? I'll be interning at a pharmacy later in my senior school year for my internship program. But I really would love to start over the summer with extra practice and experience. Anyone know if its possible that a hospital pharm. or Drug store will take on a high school student?
Answer: I'm not sure about internment, but you can look for a job as a pharmacy clerk in a local drug store (like what I'm doiing :0) I heard that you may need a high school diploma to work as a clerk though
Question: What type of Drug test does KROGER use for pharmacy intern employees? Also does Kroger randomly administer drug tests. I heard the answer was NO-- just want to make sure.
Brian
It's just a joint once in a while-calm down. I have never abused any hard drug or prescription med. Its just that THC stays in your system longer than any other drug, so drug tests are letting hard drug users off the line. I mean think about it a heroin or crack addict could leave work Friday go an a complete drug binge that night and pass his drug test Monday at work(since those drugs clear in about 48 hrs.) whereas If I smoke a friggin joint 3 weeks ago I fail. And trust me, some of your healthcare providers and people you depend on, have thier own naughty little endulgences/habits-YOU JUST DONT KNOW ABOUT IT.
Answer: If you are not already employed by Kroger, you will need to submit a urine test, sometimes a hair test, but that is rare, very rare. But...if you do drugs, is the pharmacy the right place for you? There are major fines and imprisonment that go along with "mistakes" in the pharmacy department.
No, there are no random drug checks, unless you get hurt on the job, up to and including small incidents, such as a scrape, scratch, etc. If you complain at all to anyone about pain involved from work, chances are management will get involved, and enforce a drug test.
You will however get a chance to save your job, except if the incident occurred in the pharmacy, with pharmaceutical drugs, you'll have a choice between dismissal (fired) or drug rehab, assuming your insurance has kicked in.
Question: Pharmacy Summer Intern for non pharmacy student? If I'm not in the pharmacy program, but want to apply to pharmacy school, but first need experience. Am I able to apply for a summer intern if I'm not in the pharmacy program yet? Right now I'm a biology major.
Answer: There aren't any. By definition, a Pharmacy Intern is a current pharmacy student.
Question: I'm currently a Pharmacy Techncian Intern.. What could I do to get hired? I just started doing my internship at a private clinic and I really like it there.. How could I get them to notice me so after I'm finished with my internship I could get hired there?
Answer: If your doing a good job, they should notice. After you do something well, you should ask someone important if you can discuss with them later the possibility of working there once you complete your internship. They are probably observing you enough though, thats why they agree to take on interns. They like trying out people for free before offerring them a job.
Question: How much do a 3rd yr pharmacy intern make at rite aid in Philadelphia,PA. I heard the pay about $9 iNew Jersey
Answer: 3rd year= third year in school (p-1) in phila college of pharm, i'm assuming this is what you are. You'll get about $9 anywhere. it'll increase as you go. if you want something different try excellerx in philly they pay more to their students. i liked working there
Question: pharmacy intern at kmart? 10 points!? Well I was applying for kmart in southern california and the only opening they had was in pharmacy I clicked on it and it had a box marked pharmacy intern.
I am 17 years old in 12th grade no experience in the pharmacy area and not in a pharmacy school.
My question is would they hire me or do I have to have a certificate of some sort or be enrolled with a pharmacy school?
Do you get paid for this job? how much average.
Answer: A pharmacy intern is a student enrolled in pharmacy school. You have to be a pharmacy student in order to be an intern. They usually get paid between $9.00 and $14.00 per hour. Many places hire pharmacy technicians also. To be a pharmacy technician, you usually have to take the Certified Pharmacy Technician Exam before you will get a job or have previous pharmacy experience. If you want to work in pharmacy at your age, I suggest taking a college course for pharmacy technicians and than taking the exam.
