Mozy
Those services would be the easiest to partner with and install to backup your data.
Question: I am a Marketing Manager for Asia Pacific in a Healthcare MNC in Singapore I am looking for a job in US? I am looking for a job in US either in Marketing management or in Gneral Sales Management, for are the job prospects in US. Can anyone suggest me a good job consultant in US ? I am an Indian national and working in Singapore for Last 3 years. I have an experience of 15 years in a US MNC. I also have a masters degree in Physics and a management degree from IIM Indore , India
Answer: Best thing you can do is to explore in your present company for opportunities in the US.
Next best thing is to join professional networking sites like Linkedin.com, and let others know of your intent.
Check with jobsites like Monster.com, careerbuilder.com, dice.com, and hotjobs.com, even Craigslist.org.
It is not easy to get a work permit for the US unless you get a sponsoring employer. I believe there are some headhunter companies specializing in Indian professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area - google and see what pops up.
Question: Write a job application letter to Apria Healthcare company asking for a position in customer care manager?
Answer: No, that won't work. Too general.
Try www.apria.com and look under jobs. GOOD LUCK!
Question: Is anyone here a health care office manager or an administrative assistant in healthcare? If so, how long was your formal education and how much do you make starting out and how long does it typically take to make "good money" if ever. Im talking about 55,000 or more a year
If you know anything about this please answer, I'm beginning to doubt myself as far as the major I'm taking in college and its scary because my daughter is already 5 and i don't have much time to change my mind.
for the lady that just answered, how much do you make if I might ask?
Answer: Well I am an Administrative Assistant in a hospital and I DO NOT make 55,000 a year I can tell you that. I have a Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant. Maybe the manager makes much more but I sure don't. I like what I do but I hope to go back to school for nursing soon! Good luck
Question: Is the healthcare jobs of office manager, medical encoder, etc. growing? I've heard that these are some of the fastest careers in growth. Before I invest time and money into schooling, does anyone who's did billing and encoding, medical office assistance, or medical transcriptionist tell me how to get experience and also if they feel their job is worth the effort for the pay.
Answer: I'm a nurse. I've heard that medical encoding is booming! You can probably learn that skill in a course or two in a community college or vocational school.
Question: How do I break through employment barriers at healthcare corperations? I have a blog about employment in the healthcare industry. I want to write about how people can get hiring advantages over a typical prospective employee at hospital chains and scientific companies (J&J, etc). Any tips? For example, how does one contact a specific hiring manager at XYZ corp?
Answer: ya..to get an advantage.. you need education and experience.
Question: how do you deal with a verbally abusive manager? i am a professional who works in the healthcare field and i have a manager who is very verbally abusive to her subordinates. my work area is very thriving and has very good potential and its just that whenever we have issues at work it sure stresses my manager but just the way she handles it to her staff is so dehumanizing. hers is always the last word and by the time she calms down which is after some days, she somewhat expects us to just let it fly and move on but of course, the damage is done. we really believe in her capabilities to run the area but its just the way she verbally attacks people when mad. if it was the other way around, surely we'd be fired. but because its not, we are left to suffer in silence.
Answer: Report her to the Better Business Bureau
Question: How do you become a practice manager without experience but with the right education and degree for it? I am a fresh graduate of healthcare administartion. I have experience working as a billing specialist but I do not have managerial experience. I want to apply for managerial position. How do you convince employers that you can do the job without managerial experience?
Answer: It's difficult. Most practice managers have been medical secretaries for a long time and the majority of candidates shortlisted from applicants for practice manager positions are medical secretaries. The lead doctor at the practice is more likely to shortlist a medical secretary rather than a graduate with little experience. Your degree may prove to be your downfall if you want to become a practice manager. Wouldn't you consider applying for a secretarial position and stick it out until a PM position comes up?
Question: Residential conuselor or case manager is it a health care career? I recently research a grant to become a LPN that I may. There is a application process and a prerequesite.I meet all but have a question about the last criteria. It staes that you have a working background in healthcare.Do you consider the occupation stated above in the healthcare industry although it deals with mental health.I've had called the office to obtain information but the scretary states to just mailed in the application because she does not have time to answer any callers questions.
Answer: Unless you are a Scientologist, mental health is part of healthcare.
Good luck getting the grant!
Question: Besides healthcare, what can I study to gaurantee my employment when I graduate? I currently have a B.A. in mathematics and work as an Estimating Manager. I want to further my education at the Masters or PHD level, but don't want to study something that will leave me without a job when I graduate. I want something in very high demand. Besides heathcare, what should I study?
Answer: I know it sounds stupid, but believe me it is almost a lost art. The ability to type and spell and punctuate is in such high demand, that people like me easily knock off $60k as an Executive Assistant just for being able to type and write English well.
I understand you have a BA, etc., but if you want something that is job-gettable that is fool proof, you can't beat being able to type.
And just so you don't think I'm a total dolt, my very best friend was a career diplomat who speaks seven languages fluently. He had a degree in International Law but found it very difficult to get a job, lawyers being found on every street corner. He complained to me about not being able to find work; I got him a job as an Executive Assistant in my international company. It helped to tide him over until he got the job he wanted -- at $45,000/year. It took him nine months to find a job that suited him, but because he knew how to type, he didn't have a nine-month hole in his resume.
I know that's not what you were looking for, but it is true and applicable just the same.
I've gotten better, higher paying jobs knowing how to type than my degree ever got for me.
Question: Project Manager--Should I go for a Full Time or Part Time MBA?? Or Other Opportunities? I am a project manager with 5 years of work experience in the healthcare industry in Orange County, CA. I am looking for career advancement to hopefully be an executive one day. Should I get an MBA, and if so should I go full-time or part time? People say the network is important, but I see that you can network in both Full Time or Part Time. If I could find an exciting job and advancement without getting an MBA, I would consider that too. Let me know your thoughts or if you have any recommendations (MBA school, Job, etc.)
I would definitely need to use financial aid if I went full time and would probably need at least some money if I went full time. If I go full time (2 years), I would end up with $60,000 in loans but could qualify for grants too. If I go part time (3 years), I would probably have about $20,000 in loans, but the 3 year program is not only 1 year longer, it is $20,000 more.
Answer: I'm assuming you are working for a hospital currently. I'd think the best route is to move to a PM position on the vendor side of things. You've probably worked a project that involved Cerner, Eclipsys, Epic, GE, or one of the other large vendors - that experience can be the foot in the door for a position with one of them. Then have them pay for your MBA.
I currently work as an apps specialist/PM for a healthcare software vendor that's paying 100% of my MBA, including textbooks. Don't know what the others do as far as tuition reimbursement, but they're probably competitive. E-mail me at lothar6680@yahoo if you want more info.
Question: I work in healthcare and am just about to be made redundant. where can I find a job? I have management qualifications and have been working as a manager for five years. I have new service commissioning experience
Answer: well, i don't know where you're coming from (i'm assuming the US) please come to Alberta, Canada. the boom up here has made everything desperate, and the province of Alberta has unlimited funds for people in your situation. i have a few friends who are in the provincial health system and it's a great career. not to mention that your significant other will get a job in 2 secs no matter what they do/want to do. it is a great province for health care, taxes, family, career. what more could you ask for?!
Question: what is healthcare and ethics? Possibly the biggest ethical issue in lieu of the healthcare financial crisis, is the ability for managers to effectively balance the necessity to maintain profitability while still ensuring they follow sound ethical decision making process. There was a time early in my career when I had to make a decision to follow the ambitions of making money, and more money, or changing my thought process to providing the best services possible, making the best ethical decisions possible, and knowing that profits will surely follow—and they did. Any thoughts about this potential dilemma?
Answer: Insurance and healthcare managers and pharmacists should not nor have the ability to dispense medical opinions, they do have the ability to argue with healthcare professionals like Doctor and Nurse about an issue or medical necessity or treatment to a point. They should not be able to put a strangle hold on the professionals opinion who have better knowledge and experience. These same people don't try and persuade pharmaceuticals to come up with cheaper medicines or more cost effective devices. That shows that Insurance and mangecare firms are in the medical field for profit only not to spare or save lives and therefore their opinion is suspect.
Question: what does a case manager do? In the hospital, what role does a case manager play, what exactly is in their job description? What do they do and what are some things that affect their job, within the healthcare setting?
I have to write a paper on this
Answer: Ok, the above answer is way too text bookish. I am a case manager (but not in a hospital, in a non profit mental illness facility). As a case manager, you are linking resources with people. If I have a client that needs a home, I know where to look, how to get assistance, and so on. The situation will change for every client you have.
Question: Is Crothall Services aka Crothall Healthcare a company of integrity? ? I've heard of their unit managers imbezzling from clients.
Answer: A Better Business Bureau search provided no business with either of those names. Try for yourself at:

If you have doubts about Crothall, go elsewhere.
