Question: What can be done to promote good communication with others within the industry(chiropodist,GP,? physiotherapist ,other therapists) and how should this be conducted?
it a question on my assignment for my college course in cosmetic make up and im stuck
Answer: That sure needs to be done. There should be some sort of standard association of phsyiotherapists, etc. and it should be a network complete with news updates in the field and a forum for doctors to share info. They should organize seminars as well.
Question: Can a chiropodist provide anti fungal creams for toenails ? Or does the prescription need to be from the doctor?
Answer: I think in certain areas of the world chiropodists/podiatrists can but they are not qualified doctors so you may need to get a prescription from your doc, it depends really...
Question: What is the difference between a chiropodist compared to a podiatrist?
Answer: A Chiropodist deals more with the cosmetic things concerned with the feet and with comfort. They deal with hard skin and toe nails and bunions etc. A Podiatrist deals more with the physiology of the foot and provides things like insoles to help with walking and refers on to consultants for surgery.
Question: How do you become a Chiropodist? Just wondering because we lack Chiropodists in our area, and it would be interesting to see what you have to do to become one as I think there should be more of them around.
Answer: Interesting, that's a term not too common you hear in US too often. Not certain where you're from, perhaps England or so, in the US, to become a podiatrist (chiropodist), you need to fulfill your pre-requisites. It's usually 1 year of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, half year of psychology. And also take the MCAT. Each podiatry school requirement varies slightly, so double check with their requirements. And good luck!
Question: How Much is a Trip to The Chiropodist First Time? approximate rates, please, Los Angeles.
FOOT DOCTOR?
Answer: You mean podiatrist?
It all depends if it's covered by insurance. And what you need done. Initial exams should be under $100, maybe $50, if you negotiate up front with a doctor. Rates vary by doctor, and whether you have insurance.
Question: What is the difference between a Podiatrist and a Chiropodist?
Answer: chir and pod
Question: What's the difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist?
Why does everyone think my picture looks like a mugshot?
Answer: A chiropodist is a foot chiropractor. They believe in pressure points and homeopathic medicine. They cannot prescribe medications or do any foot surguries (even simple in office ones).
A podiatrist has a medical license and can prescribe medications and do certain procedures.
Question: I have hard skin on the top of my toes, and my chiropodist said there is nothing she can do-is she right? She says its do with the shape of my foot and i have to live with it. Surely chiropodists should be able to remove hard skin on toes?
Answer: It probably has to do with the type of shoe you wear. I have hard skin on the tops of my toes but that's because I wear Converse all the time, and those shoes aren't made in the shape of your actual foot. Plus, the top part of Converse are hard, which rubs against my toes constantly when I wear them.
I think sooner or later, that hard skin will turn into dead skin and come off.
Question: I have a ingrowing toenail problem, is the early stages. does any one know how much a chiropodist will charge? I have no insurance, and the toenail need to cut on the side. Thank you
Answer: Hi i cant tell you how much it would cost but a friend of mine had bad a ingrown toe nail and he cuts a vee in the centre of the nail and that has solved his problem also i have been told that you must cut your nails straight across it helps stop them from forming good luck
Question: ok im going to a chiropodist tomorrow to remove dead/dry skin on my feet, does it hurt? does it hurt, what do they do ?
Answer: They'll probably use a file or something similar !
It doesn't hurt at all !
Question: what is the difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist?
Answer: a chiropodist is more concerned with foot skin and nail care
a podiatrist is more concerned with the bones of your feet and your posture etc. the fields do overlap though so both of them can help with both sets of issues but just not as well as the other who is an expert in it (i.e. a chiropodist wont as good on posture issues as a podiatrist).
Question: what is the difference between a podatrist & chiropodist?
Answer: Just the name! Podiatrist has replaced the title chiropodist although both titles are interchangeable in terms of the scope of the role fulfilled.
Question: I have just come back from the foor clinic and the chiropodist told me that? my feet were in a very healthy condition. Apart from the obvious signs of no fungal infection, altheletes foot, obnoxious odours etc, do you know how you can tell if you have healthy feet?
I am amazed at how you can tell.
No.... your cold.
Answer: Actually you have pretty much answered the question, no fungal infection, athletes foot (which is a fungal infection by the way) no obnoxious odors. I would add one more thing, no pain or discomfort when walking of standing. Pain is always a good indicator of something wrong in any part of the body and that is true of yor feet also. Also be on the lookout for pressure points, red spots when you take your shoes and socks off, hardened or roughened skin in areas as these can be precursors to corns and bunions. Finally, and I think most important, make sure your shoes fit properly. If you are a woman and feel you must wear heals be sensible about the height and don't wear them for long periords and remember those women who wear things like spike heels will pay for it down the road when they develop all kinds of foot problems.
Question: I want to become either a chiropodist or a dentist, but...? ...First of all I am worried that I may be to old and have left it too late. I will need to get the A-levels needed before I do a degree, and possibly do an Access to Higher Education Course before that. So, giving all of that, do you still think that I have left it too late and that I am too old?
Sorry!!- I am 27
Answer: How old are you?????????????????????????????
Their two completely different things, Dentistry has alot of competition to get into and they want top grades.
It is never too late to do something you want, give it a shot.
