Question: Are Cardiology technologists the same as Cardiovascular technologists or not? I just want ot know if Cardiology technologists the same as Cardiovascular technologist, and the reason why is because every time I want to search about Cardiology Technologist I notice its always linked to Cardiovascular technologists so are they the same and just different terms or not? and if not whats the difference between them? can someone please tell me and thanks in advance
Answer: They are pretty similar but no they are not the same thing. Cardiology tech is someone who studys the workings of the heart, and just the heart. The Cardiovascular tech studies the vasculature ie, arteries and veins, of the body and how they flow or ususally don't flow.
Hope this helps a little.
Question: cardiology technologist/sonographer salary question? just wondering.. who gets paid more. cardiology tech or a ultrasound tech (sonographer). is there a website for canada where i can look up the average salary for differnet professions. Every time i search i get us websites. Anyone with personal experience. Thanx
Answer: a cardiology technician gets paid more, because its a specialty. you do have to go through a four year program though. you can check this one out www.salary.com (its americian), it asks you for you zip-code ( if you guys have that) and you can just type it in and see what areas pay what, or http://www.ccs.ca/home/index_e.aspx
HOPE THAT HELPS.
Question: What's it like working as a cardiology technologist? I am interested in this occupation and would like to hear from someone who works as a technologist. The program I would be taking allows individuals to perform electrocardiograms,exercise-tolerance testing (physician-supervised), ambulatory ECG monitor hookup, disconnect and scanning, arrhythmia monitoring and event monitoring. Can you tell me what a typical day would involve, how well you like your job, what you don't like, your salary, etc. etc. Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks. That was interesting to read more about this career. I should have mentioned, however, that I am in Canada. Thanks for the advice on accredited programs too.
Answer: For general career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'cardiovascular technologists and technicians' or such.
Please only consider programs accredited within the industry, and please forgo those private $$ career schools and instead opt for the county vo-tech school or community college.

Question: Does it matter which college or university you attend as long as your licensed? I'm planning on attending a cardiology technology program, so my question is: do employers care about the university or college I graduate from as long as I have my cardiology technologist license (of course the university or college I'm going to attend is going to be an accredited one)?? please help answer my question.
Answer: In licensed and regulated professions; it's the license that is more important to employers. The school is only important if there are two applicants that are otherwise equal candidates and even then it's not the most important consideration.
It's important to note though that the quality of the school can make a huge difference in whether you pass the license exam. Some schools have very low pass rates while others have incredibly high pass rates.
A degree with no license is worthless in a regulated profession - make sure the school can prepare you to get licensed.
