Question: trivias on anaesthesia or anaesthesiology??? please give me any trivia on anaesthesia or anaesthesiology, or any trivia related with the answer... thanks!
Answer: historical controversy over who invented modern anesthesia: horace wells claims credit for first using nitrous oxide in a demonstration in boston, but crawford long was using ether to anesthetize patients many years before that in georgia. unfortunately, long did nothing to publicize his work so the medical community knew nothing about this very important innovation in health care.
think of all the modern advances in surgery which wouldn't be available if we didn't have modern anesthesia.
Question: for a doctor what are the options of working in usa with out usmle? iam a doctor doing doing my post graduation , final year in anaesthesiology. i would like to knowwhat other opputunities i have like research assistant, etc to work in usa.
Answer: Depending on your undergraduate field of study, you can get work as a research assistant, but if you are just finishing up your post grad, then I would recommend that in the US you take the test to qualify for residency programs in the US and then do your residency and become a US doctor.
Question: can you find me some information on Appadurai, I. R.; Hanna, C. L.. European Journal of Anaesthesiology, May20?
Answer: yahoo has this thing about suggested areas for a question, which don't always work well. Somehow, it thought you wanted to know about someone's ancestry and put it in genealogy.
Many in depth clinical articles are accessible only to subscribers, and it seems (using google) that this journal may no longer be in publication. BUT.. libraries can often access specialized articles and journals.
If that is what you need, you may want to call your local reference librarian. Another option is to post in the medical area, since the best person for helping you, may never bother to hang out here. Keep in mind that just being yahoo answers does not make the persons in the medical area, a professional. I'll bet that MOST of the persons there are persons looking for info like you or me.
Question: where to get anaesthesiology journals free online?
Answer: I personally have never been able to find and kind of journals for free online that weren't an arcive 3+ years old but you might want to check Google Scholar
Question: Are anaesthesiologists proper Dr's who have had the same amount of ? ...training and specialised in anaesthesiology or is it a separate job with its own career and training path, also is it considered an "easy" way of being a doctor, or is there a lot to it ?
sorry I used the american term becuase I relied on the spellcheck
Answer: why is this in mens health???
its a specialised area phil you still have to train to be a dr. but you can choose which area you want to work in, i dont think any part of being in the medical profession is easy and doctors tend to have no life really as they are always working so not easy no, just a different area. nurses in the uk are unable to study this field at the moment but over in the usa they can.....
they usually work along side surgeons , in truama , life support actually in very area of pain relief....
Question: I m doing my MBBS from one of india`s top medical college I want to do MD from US ? Please tell me procedure of admission in leading colleges in US IN anaesthesiology or neurology i m in maulana azad medical college???
Answer: Your graduation will be considered as a foundation course for admission into medical colleges in USA, since a basic degree of any stream is a minimum requirement.
After this one has to study for 4 years to obtain a Medical Doctorate or MD degree, which is the basic medical degree in USA. The standards to get accepted and achieve this degree are very high. a negligible number of foreign nationals are given admission to Medical Schools and most of them are those who have completed their undergraduate education in USA.
In addition to an excellent undergraduate academic record, fluency in English, extracurricular activities such as work experience and volunteer commitments; and a satisfactory score on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), (a standardized entrance examination administered around the world on computer) are the other requirements.
After satisfying all the requirements one has to be prepared to fund the education as no financial assistance of any sort is available. The final hurdle that one has to cross is obtaining a visa, which is always a question mark for anyone in general and more so for medical studies or doctors.
