Question: How exactly do you dye your hair with kool aide? I have looked at all these sites that say to mix two packets of kool aide with a double quarter sized amount of conditioner but does that mean that you mix the straight powder? If I jist want to do one streak should I only mix a little bit? I would prefer answers from people who have dies their hair with kool aide before. Thanks!!
Yes it is possible to dye ur hair with kool aide, I have seen it. I am not trying to lighten my hair.
Answer: here's what i did...
i took two packs of cherry koolaid powder and put it in a bowl with a little bit of water (i rinsed out the little packets and poured it right in the bowl). then i kind of just wet down my hair with the koolaid-water, put it in a bun, let it dry (i kept it in overnight), and then wash it out.
so to answer your question... yes only use the straight powder! conditioner would be a good idea, but i didnt think of that when i did it haha. if youre only dying a little bit, id use like half the package maybe.
the "dye" from koolaid isnt like normal hair dye... its like more of a stain.. if that makes sense
also.. if you really want it to stick.. blow your hair dry with the koolaid in it. and to what other people have said... trust me it does work. but if you have dark hair, it may not show up. my hair is light brown.
Question: How do i do a care-aide resume? Im working one day a week with an ms man, doing typical care-aide work. Id like to know how to put this on a resume besides the "change sheets daily" thing.
Answer: Current job, since _____: In-home care aide with individual, male age 26 with MS. Provide services including physical care for daily needs, companionship, some cooking and light housecleaning.

Question: What visual aide should I use for a speech about elementary school teachers? I'm giving a speech on elementary school teachers. I'm talking about the nature of the work, working conditions, education and training needed, job outlook, earnings and benefits, rewards of the job, drawbacks of the job and related occupations. I need to use a visual aide for this speech, do you have any ideas? Thanks =]
To my dissapointment I can't use a powerpoint, or a real teacher.
Answer: Go with powerpoint definately. You can add images and graphs while discussing ur topic.
Or to get creative, bring in an elementary school teacher and have a Q and A if thats allowed. Having a real life teacher should count as a visual aide.
Question: What are the requirements on becoming a teacher aide in the state of Michigan? I am planning on going into Special Ed. EI at the secondary level. I do not have a job for the winter and I'm commuting to a University.
Does anyone know the job requirements or know of a website that can give me the requirements on becoming a teacher's aide (particularly for a special ed. classroom)? Not only will it give me a job, but it's something that I'm interested in and something that will benefit me for the future.
Answer: It appears that teachers aides in Michigan need a high school diploma. Here is the Michigan Civil Service Job Description for Teacher's Aides:
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/TeacherAide_13051_7.pdf#search='michigan%20teachers%20aide%20qualifications'
BUT, the No Child Left Behind Act has made it a requirement that teacher's aide meet the "highly qualified paraprofessional" standard if they assist with reading, writing or math in a Title 1 school (a school that has a high percentage of children who qualify for Title 1 reading assistance). Highly qualified means you must meet one of the following standards:
a. Complete at least 60 hours credit toward a college diploma; or
b. Obtain an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
c. Demonstrate, through a formal academic assessment test, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading, writings, and mathematics readiness).
Michigan has a test that you can take if you haven't met one of the educational requirements.
Read all the details on this, including a worksheet to see how the educational requirements apply to you at:
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/FAQ_-_paras_83927_7.doc
Its a little confusing with the No Child Left Behind Act. Your local school district will be happy to help you understand the requirements. Call the Personnel or Human Resources department and ask.
Hope this helps!
Question: Is it okay for an instructional aide to take over my classroom? Is it legal in California for a teacher to leave the classroom in the hands of an instructional aide for more than a few minutes?
I teach in Los Angeles. The practice seems commonplace, at least at my school, for an aide to cover the classroom during times when a teacher is called into a meeting, but some have said it is not legal. Does anyone know the facts?
Our principal is the one setting this policy. All of our aides are adults and employees of the School District.
Answer: I would not go if they suggest this. You are the supervisor in charge of your students. Unless they provide you with another bonded teacher or substitute you are putting yourself at risk. this is a state credential issue. neglect of duties - its one of the criteria for revocation. While it was your principals idea, you are ultimately responsible for the kids in that class. Say something does happen - your district may disagree with your principal and find you neglected your duties. While this all sounds extreme, there are some things you don't take chances with. Your principal has a responsibility also - not to put you in harms way.
Here is what it says in the california education code about aides:
An instructional aide shall perform only such
duties as, in the judgment of the faculty to whom the instructional aide is assigned, may be performed by a person not qualified as a classroom instructor........An instructional aide need not perform such duties in the physical presence of the instructor but the faculty member shall retain responsibility for the instruction and supervision of the students in his or her charge.
Note that you retain responsibility for supervision. It says nothing about your principal. That is your group of kids. stay with em.
Question: How long does it take to receive your certified nurses aide certificate in NY? I just found out that I passed the NY State nurses aide exam.(YAY!) But no one seems to know how long it takes to get your certificate from the state.
Answer: Good question. The handbook doesn't say when you can expect the certificate but six weeks in pretty standard.
You should be able to use the letter you've received to show potential employers.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!
Question: How hard is it to go from being a pharmacist aide/technician to becoming an actual pharmacist? Do you have to be an aide/technician before becoming a pharmacist?
Answer: You have to go to school for that. It's expensive, but worth it. Also, when you're a pharmacist.. you have to go back to school every few years to keep up with the new medicines that are being created.
Question: How do I become a certified personal trainer or dietary aide? I'm moving to a new state next month and I really need a career change. After a lot of thinking, I've decided I would like to become a personal trainer or a dietary aide in a hospital but I'm not sure what the minimum requirements are.
***dextersuess- No I don't have neck acne. Read the whole question!****
Answer: I've tried most of them and the The National Strength and Conditioning Association is the worldwide authority on strength conditioning specialists and personal trainers.
Unlike any other organization, the NSCA brings together a diverse group of professionals from the sport science, athletic, allied health, and fitness industries.
I researched it extensively when I was doing my own certifications, and you can't go wrong with the NSCA. Good luck.

Question: Where can I find a complete listing of Federal educational financial aide? I need some information on where to find more federally funded aide for college education, preferrably grants. I am trying to get a Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration online. My husband is totally disabled and I have been unemployed since Jan. 2006. We get only $1000.00 a month for a family of 4. I do not have the means to pay for my education. I am already having major problems paying for this year's tuition expenses. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Answer: this isnt by the government, but fastaid.com has a ton of scholarships from all over that you can apply for
Question: What sort of qualifications do i need 2 become a teachers aide? I am mature age and need a career change . I want to know if i will need to go to a University to become a Teachers Aide. I have worked in Aged Care for the past ten years.
Answer: In Australia, as far as I know, there are no formal requirements needed. Most of the time, your chances of employment are based solely on your previous work history. I would imagine that you would have no trouble getting a job as a teachers aide.
Question: What is the difference between Certified Personal Care Aide and CNA? What is the difference between a Certified Personal Care Aide and a Certified Nurse Assistant/Aide? Are they alike or different? What does each job requirements? Do they both give medication and shots/IVs?
Thanks for the help
Answer: neither give meds... that's the job of the nurse...Both of them more or less take care of the patients needs, I.e hygeing, assist with feeding and what not... The difference is the personal aid is responsible for liek one patient and normally works in private home care... while a cna will work at a hospital or nursing home most of the time and is responsible for more than one patients... the two duties are interchangable, thus it's easy to switch from one to the other.
Question: How do you become a teachers aide? Does anyone know if you have to be certified in Indiana to be a teachers aide? If so, how do you get certified. And are there any websites with job listings? Thanks!
Answer: As a start, I would call the special education department in your school district. I think that the qualifications may vary widely depending upon the type of classroom environment from "profound" on up. Also don't forget that there may be private schools who also hire teacher's aides.
Question: What is a transient student and how does it work with financial aide? I am not eligible for financial aide at my home school (MU) due to my completion ratio (of hours). Last semester I transferred to another school (WVU) within the state. I'm wanting to pay tuition to WVU and take class at MU. Will there be fees to do this? The tuition at both schools are relatively the same.
Answer: Does the financial aid office at WVU know what you are planning on doing? Schools have policies on what they do and do not allow you to do when taking classes at another instituion. Make sure you check with them to see if this is even possible. If it is, the aid office will have policies on what aid programs you are eligible to receive. In other words, you may receive a different aid package if you take all of your classes at WVU rather than taking your classes at MU.
Question: How can I prevent a special circumstance aide? OK, I am a freshman in high school. I was the most desruptive student in Spanish class. The teacher requested I have my aide back (WHICH GOT CANCELLED THIS YEAR) and told it to all the other teachers. One, my Algebra 2 teacher, an probably my English teacher, agreed. However, I complained to the principal about the teacher being unfair to me, and I believe I was wrong. Now, there is a question whether I will have the aide back or not.
P.S. I was once in a special ed school Mardan, and my parents recently asked to have speech (social skills) removed.
Now, what can I do to prevent my aide from returning? What will probably happen in my situation???
Are there any teachers/principals who know what I can do or say so that I WON'T get the aide??? What can actually work?
What do you reccomend I do and what can happen?
Answer: I've been a para (aide) for 20 years, plus 3 of my four kids have had them. What you need to realize it that you have dug yourself a hole that will take time to get out of. It is highly unlikely that you, or your parents, will be able to convince the school not to assign an aide to you.
What you CAN do:
Realize that your behavior and choices will result in a consequence. This can be good or bad, but in the end you are deciding what you want to happen to you based on the behavior you show.
Advocate for yourself. Your old enough now to recognize when: the work is too much and you need help, you need a break to deal w/ sensory issues, being antsy, or just some time to decompress; schedule: make a time frame plan with your case manager to incorporate breaks, or time w/ preferred activities that can manage behaviors and reward you for good choices.
Acting out: why are you doing this? (again, I don't know if there is a diagnose/disability or if you just have trouble containing yourself). Request time w/staff social worker to work on this. Adding back social/life skills seems like something I wouold want you to have on your IEP. If you're acting up, something isn't working.
Responsibility: I know this isn't what you really want to hear, but as a para and a parent it's time to "suck it up". If you have support but refuse to utilize it, it's not a disability or medication issue, and you obviously know the consequences: what did you expect? Your right to do what you want and be a goof off ends when you CHOOSE to do something that interfers with teaching and other's learning. As I told my son, if you DON'T want to end up exclusively in spec ed next term you need to sit down, act appropriately, and turn off the mouth. This is school--save the comedy channel routine for lunch and after school.
If you work at turning this around, in a month or so, your parents can request a review w/ you in attendance. If you've gotten your act together, the aide may be phased out again. It's all up to you, though. Best of luck, thinking of you!
Question: What are some common questions questions asked at an interview for a physical therapy aide posistion? This is my first job as a physical therapist aide and dont know what they are looking for. I am pursuing a degree in kenesiology currently and hope this this job will give me a feel of what it will be like to be a physical therapist. Any advice for what I should say or do at this interview would be really helpfull. Thnx to whomever answers!
Answer: They will probably want to know if:
1. You've ever had a job where you worked with people
2. Are you familiar with being around those with disabilities
3. What are your aspirations?
4. What do you know about PT?
They are usually looking for people who are comfortable being around people, being in close contact, having good interpersonal skills such as answering phones, customer service, etc.
You should also be familiar with the practice guidelines for techs in your state. (If such guidelines exist in your state) You can see the link on the APTA website at: http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Archives2&TEMPLATE=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&CONTENTID=42744
Good luck
Question: How come there is a special education student who has an aide? Why does she need one? Is it because the school can’t find a special education program for her? Why are there some special needs children who have aides? The aide walks with the special education student to all of her classes. She doesn't have a physical disability. I don't understand.
Answer: More than likely, this is a case that has involved, active parents who have been able to wrangle a personal assistant from an IEP team. I say that because most students who have severe disabilities are often place in ESE classes and mildly involved students are included in regular ed classes with help from a co-teacher, who will have a number of students on her caseload. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, but it probably the case.
Some students have behavioral difficulties regardless of their disability and often need assistance to be maintained in the regular classroom. They also may need assistance to find their way to class. Other students need extensive help with their assignments in order to get decent grades. This could include being able to give dictation to an assistant for writing assignments or helping the student stay on track by assisting with materials.
Some disorders that require an assistant are people with severe learning disabilities, autism, traumatic brain Injury, emotional disturbance or mild mental retardation.
I am currently working with a student who has TBI. He has a personal assistant in regular ed because his parent refused to have him in a special class. He is intelligent, but his social behaviors aren't very good so without his assistant he would not be able to stay in regular ed. His injury involved the frontal lobes of his brain and so it has wiped out his understanding of social cues and appropriate responses.
In order to maintain his behavior, he has to have the assistant to do a star sheet all day long or he will act out disruptively. She also takes dictation. Personally, I don't see the reasoning for this because if they are doing this for socialization purposes, it obviously isn't working. He would be better off in a class in which social skills are part of the curriculum.
