Question: Who are some talented pros in investor relations? I am trying to help my company recruit a new director for investor relations. It's a technology firm, not huge but growing. We need someone with finance as well as communications abilities. Probably midwest, but could be from anywhere. Know anyone good?
Answer: cashcowmag.com
Question: Need clarification on investor relations and corporate PR? i'm currently a student majoring in Advertising and PR. i want to get into corporate communications in a publicly traded company. and here is where i get a little confused; corporate PR and investor relations is it the same thing with different names (i.e. the dirrefence between working in a company or agency)
thanks guys!
Answer: investor relations deals directly with communicating to investors. corporate PR involves communications to customers, the public at large, vendors, suppliers, etc- the extent depends on the nature and size of the company. messages to all groups must be consistent, so they are related but different-they focus on different groups.
Question: How can I get a job in investor relations? I have been working in equities for only 6 months. I have a good MBA. Please help.
Answer: Target an IR agency and arrange a meeting with them. It's better to work for an agency than to work for a corporation. I worked in PR/IR for a few years and it was the most fun job I ever had. Wish I never left it. You also have to be willing to travel and to relocate to a major financial city like San Francisco.
Question: Has anyone called the investor relations of a company? What are good questions to ask? What questions are normally asked?
Answer: That entirely depends on the company you're calling and what your concerns are. Have you done detailed research on the company? You need to develop relevant questions that could help you piece together answers to any questions you may have after your research.
Think of it in terms of the questions you'd need to ask to build a model for the future value of the company.
Question: How does one enter a career in investor relations and what are the starting salaries?
Answer: Sound like you talking a form of public relations specialists focused on investments.
Opportunities should be best for college graduates who combine a degree in public relations, journalism, or another communications-related field with a public relations internship or other related work experience.
Although employment is projected to grow faster than average, keen competition is expected for entry-level jobs.
Median annual earnings for salaried public relations specialists were $43,830 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $32,970 and $59,360; the lowest 10 percent earned less than $25,750, and the top 10 percent earned more than $81,120.
Question: What is the direct phone number for Yahoo Investor Relations so I can speak to a real person?
Answer: There is not one
Question: What exactly do people in the career of Investor Relations do?
Answer: http://cms.careerexposure.com/upclose/up…
see the article above-depending on the firm, there is a lot of PR work and usually consulting. Much different if you work for an investment firm versus for a corporation.
Question: How do I determine the legality of trading on information that I recieve from the Investor Relations Departmen
Answer: If you received it from the Investor Relations Department there is no libility to you to trade upon it. It is public information or at least you can assume that it is.
Question: On average; How much does an Investor Relations Assocciate make USD annually?
Answer: I am not sure of what an Investor Relations Associate does. However, a Branch Office Administrator at Edward Jones makes between $10 - $15 per hour. This person does all of the customer relations, marketing, customer service, transfers, paperwork, etc. The only thing they do not do is recommend specific stocks to the client
Question: i need information on shareholder and investor relations? i have this presentation to make on the 27th about share holder and investor relations and its for my public relations class . i need information on that
Answer: You can usually find that out on a companies web site. There should be a link to, Investor or Investor Relations. Sometimes if you go to the corporation or about link it will take you there on their web site.
Here's the investor relations for Coca Cola for example: http://ir.thecoca-colacompany.com/phoeni…
