thanks
Answer: Have you finished your degree yet?
If not make sure you finish with a B.S. in either Finance or Econ. The CFA exam is rather difficult and should be a long term goal, for the moment try to concentrate on a firm that specializes in this area...for example Goldman Sachs!!!!! We offer a 2 year program that new employees enter upon graduation--everything you need to know to be an analyst is taught in our courses.

Answer: Depending on the area you are looking at will determine how much starting salary is. I would say that nation wide you could expect to see somewhere around $40,000 for an analyst with no experience. Where I work we just hired on an analyst right out of university at $36,500, of course I'm in a much smaller area, Chicago on the other hand had many jobs starting around $45,000 so I'd say you could expect $40,000 to be a good median salary. Question: what are the duties of credit analyst in bank.? can anybody who is working a credit anlayst in bank, tell me how you works and what are your daily activities from morning till evening. how one can work efficiently in this field. what knowledge one need to excel. what a beginer should do what kind of questions he can expect in an interview.
Answer: A credit analyst at a bank will review financial statements and other information provided by a prospective loan customer. The analyst may review outside reports such as Dun and Bradstreet reports. The analyst may review important factors such as working cash, income vs expenses, quick cash-current funds, debt/equity ratios. The analyst may look at profit margins, as there are benchmarks for given industries. The analyst may look at trends in the business or the industry generally. The analyst needs good writing skills because he or she will contribute to a "loan write-up" which the banker will have to make in order to justify making a loan to the prospective customer. If the loan is large enough, it would have to be approved by a loan committee or at least a higher level officer of the bank. Some credit analysts also review loans on an ongoing basis, to assure that the credit of the customer does not deteriorate. And some cerdit analysts review loans which are non-performing for parts of the bank referred to as "work-out groups" or perhaps "special asset groups".
It is a good entry level position at a bank. Credit analysts who perform well are often given the opportunity to advance to loan officer and higher levels at banks. Try to get a chance to work with loan officers who are held in high regard. They probably started as credit analysts too.
You should be completely knowledgeable about Excel. You should have good intenet skills to look up and determine information about almost anything. You should have excellent writing skills. You shouuld have the ability to think critically.
You should be prepared to answer any question pertinent to any of these abilities and attributes. You should be prepared to demonstrate your commitment to these sometimes mundane tasks but you would do well to also express and understand the importance of this function to the banking process. Try to point out that you are looking for opportunities to advance and that you recognize that this is a good starting point for a banking career.
