Business analysts are the liaison between technology staff and management. A business analyst's role is usually undertaken prior to the system design, building and programming stages of the systems development process. Please visit these web sites for more information:

Question: What's the factor of GPA when applyin for banking analyst position? I graduated from UofT and my first and second year GPA was 1.39 combined. My third, fourth, and fifth year GPA was something like 3.8 all combined. I'm wondering if my GPA stand a chance against applying for any decent job in banking business.
Answer: I work for a financial services institution.
It's going to be tough, but is possible. Most banks want to see a 3.5 or above, and will consider good candidates that are at least a 3.2 or above.
In your case, I'd suggest two things:
1) Address the issue BRIEFLY in your cover letter. And hopefully the explanation has something to do w/ a life changing event or overcoming adversity. Emphasize what you learned and how you translated that into a successful GPA in the end.
2) Don't just list your overall GPA by itself. Break out your GPA in your major (assuming it's good), or just list your last 3 years' GPA (with a disclosure that it's for those 3 yrs).
Be sure that the rest of your resume is as good as it can be. Highlight any relevant work experience, activities or sports at school, or other notable items. Ensure your skills shine through. Have a friend or school career center critique your resume to get the best possible results.
Good luck!
Question: How can i look for a job as an analyst or investment banking?? I Tried career websites and direct. No Luck.? i have series 7, 63 & 55. I traded for five years and have been trying to switch over into another field in the industry. I am interested in becoming an analyst ot moving into the investment banking side of the business. I have been unsuccessful in my search and enrolled myself back in scholl to get my 2nd BA in finance and economics. am i doing the right thing?? is CFA an option i should look into?? more importantly how or what do i do to look for employment. thank you all for your input.
also i do not mind starting from the bottom. but how do i get there
Answer: Do not be detered.
Keep following up with firms and if you are willing to relocate, consider approching firms in other regions.
The schooling may help. But even with the extra certification, there are no guarantees about jusmping into a firm, too high up the ladder. You may have to do some "ladder climbing" with or without extra schooling.
Another approach may be to get a moderate position, perhaps selling mortages or even assisting someone, then work your way up the ladder through awareness, great work, and great business relationships. It's not easy. But if you work these skills, they grow.
The ultimate abitious plan would be to do both; get a position and keep up with schooling. This can be hard work, but you will learn tons and if you can manage it, people will be impressed.
Just remember, if you do take a lower position, make sure it doesn't stagnate. Look for promotions and be aware of opportunities, within your firm and elsewhere.
Just stick to it!
Question: How much do Bank Credit Analyst make in the state of California? With a BS in Business Adminstration? and what is the range for Bank Credit Analyst in State of CA.
and can you make 6 figures.?
Answer: A BS in business administration is pretty much what it says. This degree is more general than a degree in finance, accounting, marketing, etc. It is a good all round grounding in business.
Can a Bank Credit Analyst make 6 figures. Not to start. Too much of this analysis can be done by a computer to generate basic parameters. You can work your way up to 6 figures, but not until you have worked into the management structure of the department.
Question: What kind of degree do I need to get into banking, investments, financial analyst,or management? Ok I start college june 3rd I am going to get my Associates degree in Business management. I want to take the right classes so one day I can get into one of the following. banking, investments, management, financial analyst. can someone suggest the degrees or path I should take to get into one of those fields. Also if anyone knows starting salary's for those fields can you please let me know.
Answer: At least a bachleors degree in business or finance. To get into banking (other than a teller) or investments you will need at least an insurance licence (many banks and investment firms sell annuties) or a series 6 securities license (for mutual funds) or a series 7 securities license for stocks.
Many investment firms will provide training classes usually free of charge. If you agree to work for them
