Question: Two job offers: audit in BIG4 and SAP consultant? What is better to prefer, SAP consulting or Audit in BIG 4? The main point for me is the future career, what my prospects after audit and SAP. I think that after audit there are more ways to develop my career in financial management or smth like that. And after SAP there is only one way - SAP or IT. But consulting is much more interesting than audit services. What do you think? Please give any opinions.

Answer: Audit will give you more future opps in different areas. If you really just like IT and tech, SAP isn't bad and it will pay well, at least near term. In Audit, you will develop a broader skill set and be much more "polished". If you think you might get an MBA or Law degree in several years, this job is a better path. What is your degree in?

Answer: Have you tried posting your resume on Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, Dice.com, etc? Also, have you considered going to the Career Sections of the Big Consulting firms (KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, etc etc) and sending your resume to them directly in response to specific job postings?

Question: how much should i expect to be earning being a consultant with 2 yrs experience? the work is accounting/finance related. a lot of audit/compliance assessment type work.

Answer: A good $200 a week..

Question: Can anyone share experience with Tax Audit especially for "Business Use of Home" and "Car Expense"? Are the auditors very picky about all the receipts and gas mileage record for being audited. Do I need to hire a tax consultant/expert to come along with me at the tax office for the interview date? Any help/advice will be of great help!

Answer: For the home office expense, be very very careful. The IRS will disallow the deduction if you admit or show that at anytime the space was used for anything other than business. (For example, a claim was disallowed when the filer showed pictures of their home office, and pet food bowls were visible). You can not share space either. For example, if you use half of you family room for business, you can not claim anything. It must be dedicated. The easiest way to deal with a home office audit, is to have the audit done at your home. Then the agent can see exactly what you are claiming. Make sure there is no tv, radio, excercise equipment, or book shelves with novels. JUST BUSINESS. By the way, if your employer provides you with an office, you cant claim a home office. Also, make sure your business card reads your home address. For auto expense, im assuming you didnt claim the standard mileage deduction. In that case, the easiest way to justify expenses is make a monthly log of business travel. List by week the travel pts to and from, and who was visited. Determine the mileage on a weekly basis. (This is needed because you must declare what % of your car use was personal / and business) Once you have that number, get together the big bills (Insurance, car lease, major repairs) and formulate the % for business. You do not need receipts for less than $50, so tolls, gasoline, car washes need only be noted.

Question: How do US taxpayers know whether the government is doing a good job? I can think of a few examples of times when the media has exposed some area of bad gov't, leading to an eventual sort of corrective measure. However, I am wondering if there are any official means by which government audits itself, or better, hires outside consultants to check up on its work. I realize that I may be asking a hopelessly naive question, but I do want to know if official channels exist, or if they don't, or have been proposed. Thanks.

Answer: They know the government is doing a good job if they have a roof over their head, clean water, fresh food, a job, and most importantly - if when a new official is elected the power is transferred gracefully. If they needlessly lose any of those, then start voting people out. That is why democracy is great.

Question: Accenture(ERP) or Deloitte(IT Audit)? Hi, I received offer from accenture as ERP consultant and deloitte as CISA IT adudit consultant. I'm currently engineer and want to get job in Europe in future. Both offer are almost in the same salary. but IT audit is less stressful and working hours than ERP. Pls tell me which is the best to get job in Europe in future.

Answer: go with deloitte. Mainly because it's a Big 4. You can work there a few years a jump to a better job where you will get paid a lot because of your experience in a Big 4.

Question: What should I do : Love (infatuation) at first sight hurts !? I met a guy briefly on my workplace. It was "love" at first sight. His company has been doing an audit at my company for months. He has now left but the audit is continuing and could go on for several more months. Audit consultants are not allowed to have personal relationships with employees at the client company ! I know that it is completely irrational, I haven't seen him for months and I feel heart broken by the idea of never seeing him again : never being given the chance to get to know him. Something strong happened between us. I'm certain that he liked me alot too but I don't know if he has a girlfriend, or not. He has my number. I asked him to call. It's raging hormones girly and this is how we women get in trouble, pregnant, all the other crap, even marrying the losers.........men are smarter, they know when it's their little head talking, no matter what most women say about that. Answer: Ask the HR manager/director for a list of all their HR programs and processes. Find out what the company's goals and objectives how. Does your clients HR programs and processes align with the company's overall strategy? What do they need to do that they are not doing in order to assist in meeting the company's goals and objectives? What are they doing that is not value added toward the overall goals and objectives.

Clarify your role and what you assess prior to making suggestions for implementation. From there compare and contrast their old way of offering bonus' to your way of determining bonus'. Look at how the old method of job evaluation was more 'comparative' as opposed to individual performance rewards. How does your company financially combat financial bands and offer a better more sound fiscal structure in which to promote, offer bonus and retirement.
