Answer: Since you've already made your year 10 and 11 "extra subject" choices, I would have suggested business studies as one of those. However, I would suggest you work hard at your maths GCSE to be good with numbers. Apart from I couldn't really suggest anything else. Accountants generally are professional, so you may think about working at your ICT and English Literature GCSE aswell. Once your at college I would try at an accountant A level and maths A level. Then you've got another 2 choices of A levels to be able to have something to expand your future prospects.

Answer: Forensic Accounting is the most 'interesting type of accounting' possibly the most.. unexpected and out of the ordinary. however some people may like tax/audit/financial etc.. but i think for the most part those types of accounting are pretty... 'boring'. to become an accountant you need a CPA (in America or a CA in Canada) which requires you to have an undergraduate degree with certian courses. My suggestion is to start taking the undergraduate introduction to accounting courses to get a taste of the types of accounting before you choose what to specialize in.

Question: How good of an accountant do you need to be to support QuickBooks? I support QuickBooks in a technical sense, and need more insider knowledge of QuickBooks. Right now, the program could be in Chinese and it wouldn't matter, because I just set up the network and the backup scenarios. I need better access to current compatibility information and the like, and the best way seems to become a certified QuickBooks advisor. Answer: You don't need to be an accountant - you just need a general understanding of basic accounting practices. QB is easy to learn and does the accounting for you. If you know the difference between A/R and A/P, and you can balance a checking account - you're good to go.
