Question: President? Who was the president who was going to run for a second term but said no. (but noone liked him)
Answer: Lyndon B Johnson - took over from Kennedy in 1963, elected overwhelmingly in 64, and decided not to seek a second full term in the spring of 1968.
Question: If the Vice-President assassinated the President what would happen during the trial? Would the Vice-President still run the country or would the chain of command be followed and the Speaker of the House automatically be made president or would the Vice-President be made president until convicted of the murder of the president?
Answer: The usual trial activities. There is nothing in the Constitution that limits the right of the vice president to become president except the president staying alive.
Question: What year did the president and vice president start running together on a ticket? From what I recall, the winner of the presidential election became president and the loser became vice president. What year did this change to where the president and vice president run together on one ticket? I'd assume that having someone from one party as president and another party as vice was problematic at times. Any further history on this subject would be appreciated.
Answer: wow, what an excellent question! i can't help, either, but it had to be over 100 years ago...FDR back in the thirties picked his own running mate, i know that, but when it began, maybe someone even older than i can help. Heck, maybe google "running mates", gees, wow, i'm impressed with the intelligence of your question--aren't you impressed with my wishy washy answer? (lol).......good luck.
Question: What do you think about the president asking citizens to snitch on others about the health care meetings? As I'm sure your aware of, the president has posted on the white house web site a link where people can snitch on others who spread the word about the town hall meetings such as through e-mail or on face book or other web sites?
Personally I think it's sad.
When Bush was President. Hillary Clinton back in 2003 made a statement saying that she and other liberals should be able to criticize the president, but if anyone criticizes 0bama we can't do that.
Answer: I've already reported a number of democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, spreading disinformation about mobsters.
Question: Can a president be convicted of a crime as president, once he leaves office? If it was found out that President Bush committed crimes (for argument sake, let's say war crimes) during his presidency, can he be convicted after the fact? Is there a statue of limitations for the President? How long before he has immunity from this?
Answer: yes.. but you'd have to find a cop that wasnt an accomplice.. or one that wasnt as crooked as bush.. to arrest him.. then a court not as corrupt as bush to convict him..
so .. you can forget about it..
the first test of obama will be the bush criminal enterprise issue that hijacked our govt.. and drove it into ruin.. murder torture kidnapping agressive war.. attacking and destroying much of the us constitution.. using lies to fraud the people. no bid contracts to their friends .. nothing more than money laundering.. except that it alsto cost close to a million lives.
i dont know of any statute of limitations on treason.. torture.. murder.. kidnapping.. treason.. these are all capitol crimes i think.
unfortunatly i think obama will fail his first test of being a law abiding honest citizen.. which would be to investigate.. and try bush.. or ship him off for a fair trial in germany.
i think it will be swept under the rug.. and fester there.. our national shame.. the bush stain.. with obama covering it up.
Question: What does President Awards mean in a Toyota Service Center? Hi, I have a problem (need an oil change + some repair on my engine) with my car and I have really two dealerships to bring my car to, one was awarded president awards and another wasn't. The one without the president awards is closer to my house and I am planning to have my car fixed there. My question is that what does president award mean and would that affect the the quality of service significantly in my case?
Answer: http://www.toyota.com/dealers/services/p…
Basically, they get high marks on customer surveys. Some dealerships will specifically ask customers to reply to surveys with the highest checkmark possible, otherwise they don't get their awards/bonuses...
I wouldn't let the award/lack of award sway you one way or the other. Just go wherever is convenient or has quoted you the lowest rate. (Each dealership has different hourly rates, set menu rates (oil change, x-mile service, etc.), and different prices on parts.)
Question: Can the president abolish a law that a former president signed while he is office? For instance, say President Bush signed a law today. Could President Obama/McCain kill that law that when they get into office if they disagreed on it?
Answer: Yes, of course. But it takes a lot more than just a president to make a law. That is what the Senate and Congress are for.
But as for your question, whether McCain/Obama could kill laws passed during the Bush presidency. Yes they can, provided they have the support of the other branches of government.
Question: How important is experience in becoming President ? Most politicians that become president never had experience of being a president . Most candidates were first time presidents. Bush never had experience as a president ..
Do you need prior presidential experience to be a president ?
Answer: You make it hard to answer, you make a good point, most presidents were not president when they got elected to president, but then you bring up Dubya, who not only had a prez for father, but managed to steal, I mean get elected twice. Does that mean the American public, voters that is, are in the majority gullible? So which is better, someone who supports failed policies without question, or someone who recognizes our country is in deep doo doo and we need change, but was not a POW? ABB McClone (anybody but McClone).
Question: How many wish the President and Vice-President slots were filled like our forefathers intended? President (highest number of electoral votes)
Vice-president (next to the highest electoral votes)
.
Could you imagine a Democratic President with a Republican Vice. Now that would bring us together and equal out the power?
Answer: Obama/McCain?
Actually not bad.
If McCain from 2000 were running, I would love that!!
Question: What President married a second wife that was younger then his grandchildren? There was a President that married a second time (after his first wife died) and that woman was younger than his grandchildren. What president was that?
Answer: I don't know but he's my idol.
