Question: What type of experience do I require in order to become a Marketing Director? I want to apply for the position of a Marketing Director in Germany, what kind experience do i need? Also mention if certain types of awards i need to win that will look good on my resume. and I am from Canada.

Answer: you need to have knowledge and experience about business management , business marketing. you need to know types of marketing and how you can use marketing to expose the business to their targeted customers in additional to that strong communication skills. I think related college degree will support you.

Question: what exactly does a marketing director and a marketing intergration manager exactly do? i want to get into marketing when i get older, and i saw marketing directors make around 135k a year, and marketing integration managers make around 105k a year, and i was wondering what they exactly do. please help, best answer given

Answer: I dont know what an integration manager is but I can tell you about marketing. People who work in marketing are responsibile for selling things. 99% of their job is to make money. They are responsible for creating the marketing communications (marcom) that increases the public's awareness and encourages people to buy your product or serice. The marcom could be newspaper / tv or radio ads, web banners, flyers that come to your house, etc. They are responsible for pricing the service or product so that its profitable and a good alternative to the competition and creating offers and discounts to attract new and retain existing customers. They are responsible for figuring out who needs their product or service, where they live and how to best communicate with them. It is a fast paced job; lots of deadlines, lots of creative work with a wide variety of people and always the focus on the numbers. You report in to the company executives. You work with the people who design and update your product or service as well as the people who support it and sell it (storefront, websites etc). You are alwasy monitoring the numbers: how many customers did we get, how many left us, (why?) how much are they paying, how can we sell them more, how is the competition performing? etc.You live and die by the numbers: if you meet your targets for sales, revenue, etc you usually get a bonus on top of your salary. If you don't make the numbers you dont get a bonus and eventually you'll get fired. The director is responsible for all of this, and maybe more. It can be cutting edge, dynamic work but it's not for everyone... Good luck. I suggest you figure out what you like and what your'e good at and start there. Focus some, but not too much, on the salaries.

Question: My friend is a director of marketing at a dealership and he says he can give me an employee discount? What should i be looking at in reagrds to the price he said he can hook me up with any car i want but i want to know what i should expect in regards to the price like lets say how much money would a 22,000 regular price car cost?He is a close friend so i know he wont screw me, but i just want an idea and he said he wont know till i go to the dealership and talk to them about it becuase hes not a dealer,hes the director of marketing

Answer: Ask your friend if he means a supplier discount. He can't actually sell you a car at employee prices because the manufacturers require proof of relation now a days, so he could loose his privilege if he 'gives' you the discount and submits the deal. Dealer employees get a different plan than actual factory workers, which includes not being able to give out discounts. If he knows a factory employee who is willing to give you a pin number for a friends & family discount, this is an actual discount, not the same thing some smug off the street can negotiate. The dealership still makes money off the purchase, however not as much as a retail sale. Ask your friend exactly what discount he is 'giving' you and let us know. Question: I am a marketing director for a restaurant. What do you think is the avg. work week for working in the office? What is the industry standard for personal and sick days and holidays for office personnel working for a restaurant. We don't work directly in the restaurant but in the office.

Answer: In the interest of fairness, a restaurant will usually provide the same nominal benefits, holidays, and other compensations to office management that it does to other bar, back of the house, and front of the house management. Independant restaurants are less likely to provide sick pay, and are more likely to require you to work holidays, even if it is outside of your normal job responsibilities and usual scheudle. Hours could be a standard 40 hour week, but are more likely to be vaired, or second shift and weekend work. There really is no standard.

Answer: Doing a search for jobs like this, it appears that a range of 103k-201k is very likely. Kind of broad I know but it is usually based on experience.
