Question: How will executive education change in the next 5-10 years? Will office workers and executives of the future sit in classrooms to get their executive education? Will it be delivered through Second Life or another virtual world? What role will Web 2.0 technologies play in executive education? Will we get our training through mobile phones? Will we train each other, through Wikis and similar technologies? If you are 20-25 years old now, or have experience of this, please let me know what you think about this. Thanks!
Answer: i think it will be alot more computer based
alot more of it will deal with other countries since we are gradually becoming more globalized
-it wont be thru cell phones or virtual world although those will still be developing
the best education will still come thru experienced teachers- the gadgets are just a plus
Question: What is considered an executive golf course and a regular 9 hole course par 35 considered a par3 executive? My friend is trying to say any nine hole course is called a par3 executive course. I'm saying a par3 course is all par3's . I'm also saying a 9 hole course par 35 or 36 is a regular course not a par 3 executive course are any other fooey like that,
Answer: Any executive golf course I've seen has always been a par 3 golf course consisting of all 9, par 3 holes. A par 35 or 36 course would be a regular course. You are right.
Question: What executive department is responsible for establishing foreign policy? What executive department is responsible for establishing foreign policy, setting up embassies, and issuing passports?
Answer: The State Department (at least in the U.S.), the current Secretary of State being Hilary Clinton. Hope that helps.
Question: What roles does an executive officer play for a commanding general? Is the executive officer function like an aide to a general? I do not mean an executive officer as in the number 2 in a chain of command.
Answer: An Executive Officer is the 2nd in command. He usually focuses on the administrative and logistics side. At Company level, he would mentor and work with the platoon leaders. At BN level, he would head the staff officers to kep them focused on the Commaner's goals and tasks. For combat missions the S-3 may take more of a lead role with the Commander while the XO covers the admin/logistics tasks.
Commanding Generals don't have Executive Officers. They have a Chief of Staff and a Deputy Commanding General. (In combat, there are 2 Deputy Commanders - Maneuver and Support).
Question: Do executive assistants have to work weekends and nights? I am really interested in the executive assistant position. Organization is something I am really good at and everything I've researched about the job sounds absolutely perfect. My only concern is having to work many extra hours outside a normal shift. Can anyone help?
Answer: If you don't want to work outside the hours of a normal shift, this is likely not the job for you. However, in some smaller companies, they might have normal hours. But your pay will be a lot lower to reflect that and your opportunities for growth may be limited.
It depends on what you are willing to do. More sacrifice = more reward.
At any rate, please be sure you ask before you start the job. You will burn a lot of bridges if you accept a job you cannot fulfill. Good luck whatever you choose.
Question: What is a Nurse executive and what is their starting salary? Im currently a freshman in college my major is nursing
Im studying to be a registered nurse (basically have my bsn in four yrs> I would like to know how many more years of schooling would i need to become a nurse executive? I live in nj but will either work in nj or ny. So i would like to know what the average salary if for a nurse executive? What exactly does the job entail?
Answer: A website you can check out is http://www.salarydom.com -- they have salary comparison information within the same industry, and also includes specific names of companies and locations. They also have a personalized salary report feature, where you can request a report based on specific parameters like occupation and company. You can find out the top paying companies in your chosen industry and your salary ranking as well.
Question: What allows executive orders from an outgoing President to be irreversible? It seems to me like what one does, the next should be able to reverse. Yet they say that Bush plans on implementing 90 executive orders to implement even more deregulation for industry and the only things we can do are to sue for constitutionality or to use congressional review which wouldn't allow for replacement legislation.
Answer: Timing. They can potentially be reversed, but not without a whole lot of time consuming bureacratic rigamarole because of when he made them.
Question: What is executive management of corporate America sacrificing for the benefit of their companies and employees? Ten million people out of work and growing. Consumer spending dropped last month more than it has ever dropped. Home foreclosures at record highs and the economic outlook going forward is nothing but doom and gloom.
Just like in politics, why does the executive level management only seem to be concerned about getting bailout money and their bonuses and how taking that bailout money will affect them?
Answer: Certainly the problems of corporate America and the problems caused by corporate America has started at the very top.
Greed, corruption, competition, stock holder expectations, need to achieve forecasts, have all played a negative part in what corporate America has become.
The mind set of corporate executives is truly a mystery to most people. The ungodliness that over takes this element and it's own quest for riches has been written in the scriptures over the centuries, yet it still prevails. Those who are elected to protect the people are themselves tainted by the corruption and greed by allowing laws to pass they know will benefit the executive class and deny the people.
AIG is the recipient of government bailout, and their appreciation and gratitude is reflected in how they responded. They turned around and had an all expense paid, week long party, at one of the country's more pricey resorts. They even took precautions on keeping it low key, so as not to alert the media, but to no avail ! They were caught with their pants down and the world became even more aware of their terrible indiscretions !
To do any less than fire this complete layer of management would be unjust. This scum needs to be made example of, yet capitalism needs to survive, but not at the cost turning our backs on this scum that first caused much of the financial crises and then benefited by it.
The politicians who supported this crises and in general allow corporate America to abuse the laws, must themselves be punished. At the very least, any and all elected positions in all levels of government, should be subject to recall !
Question: What does an executive officer in a foundation do? I mean, a foundation which all it does is fund other organizations. For instance, the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation (which primarily funds other organizations). I heard that Jeffrey Raikes will be paid a nice chunk of change to be the executive director, but what does he really do?
Answer: The type of foundation you are asking about doesn't need to raise money from other sources. The Gates Foundation has a large endowment which generates interest income. This money is used to operate the foundation and give grants.
An executive director of a foundation like this one would have administrative and public relations duties. The person sets the tone and oversees the staff of the foundation. He/she is usually one of the spokespersons for the foundation and serves as the liaison with the board of directors. He/she also checks in on grant recipients to see that funds are being used properly.
Finding good projects to fund with grant money is much more difficult than it may initially seem. Giving out grant money is viewed as an investment in other organizations. Grant makers want to be sure the funds are used wisely and according to the foundation's guidelines.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
P.S. The person who previously held the ED position at the Gates Foundation took a token salary ($1 per year, I think) because she had earned a considerable amount of money during her tenure at Microsoft.
Question: What takes courts so long to nullify executive acts that are unconstitutional? The use of signing statements is legislating by the executive, in violation of the separation of powers doctrine, and is clearly unconstitutional. Why haven't the courts outlawed this abuse yet? What is taking them so long? And what power does the executive have over the judiciary that might be used to delay or influence the ruling?
Answer: I believe they call it "due process" It also depends on how resistant the other side is; at times it seems that things move at a snail's pace in the legal system..
