Question: What is the annual salary of a technical service manager for a onsite computer repair company? What is the annual salary of a technical service manager for a onsite computer repair company?
What are their responsibilities?
It would be great if someone could tell me that actually did this for living or worked in the same field.
Answer: The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. Question: Service Delivery Manager job pre-requisites? Hello,
I will be attending an interview for a job as Service Delivery Manager with the Shared Infrastructure Services division of an insurance company. I'm trying to find out as much as I can regarding the technical aspects of the role as part of my preparation. The main responsibility of the job with the insurer is to act as the main management focal point towards the outsourced IT service provider to ensure they uphold the level of service outlined in the agreement.
My background is not in IT, rather in customer service, technical support and business process outsourcing management within outsourced and offshore environments. From a business/process standpoint I think I am good, especially if I get some ITIL knowledge under my belt. However, I'm worried about the technical requirements.
Does one need to be a 'technical expert' for this type of position? What level of knowledge would be sufficent to be effective, using industry certifications as a guage if possible.
Thanks!
Answer: I am a SDM at a large corporation. ITIL is a good place to start but can be somewhat daunting in interpretation and mental absorption. So, focus on a short and long-term learning goal of ITIL, but don't sweat it immediately.
As far as Technical knowledge, it is not a critical point for an SDM. Depending on the interpretation and implementation of Service Deliver in that company, it should be more focused on customer relations, costs, and forecasting of the Infrastructure needs for the enabling of the business.
So, that is the short and sweet version. But, no.... technical knowledge shouldn't be big, unless they combine multiple roles. You will need to be technically minded enough to adapt to their way, and be able to pull in the resources based on your assessments at times.
Good Luck!!

Answer: The first, most obvious, problem is all the mistakes in grammar and sentence structure; this will put off potential employers. Ask someone to correct your use of grammar. Also, the two extra objectives seem superfluous and a bit pushy: "should". And, most importantly, a resume should be written for a specific job application in mind. This one seems to be too general.
Depending on the place you live, there are a lot of government funded services that will assist you with writing a good resume. I would make use of those, if I were you.
Also, visit the library and read a good modern book on resume writing.
I am not an expert, but I do have a lot of experience in writing resumes, and this one shows some fundamental problems.
Question: Please review this resume and tell me what you think.?

References
• Available on request.
Answer: First of all, be sure you can use a font or eliminate words to make sure you can fit it on two pages, most. For your level of experience, that would be sufficient, where one page would be too cramped and actually difficult to read. You can eliminate redundancies such as "References available on request" if they are spilling onto a third page. (Can't tell on yahoo)
When you finish your resume, take care to use consistency with heading sections with ALL CAPS (e.g., Objective isn't, but Education is) Not sure why OFFICE EXPERIENCE (respelled) and OFFICE ENVIRONMENT are all caps. Use your starting date on your current position, to make it look like your other jobs. Either spell out the months or abbreviate but be consistent. Use capitalization and lower case consistently. (e.g., "Mail"?)
My personal opinion is there are too many categories (4) before the actual work experience, but that the content is very valuable. Could you move the computer skills below the experience? Could you combine Strengths and Accomplishments (maybe not but worth a look)?
For the Objective, could you make it more "active" than you would like to apply for a job, e.g., Objective: Executive position in Technical Support and Customer Relations in the ____ industry. Even better, maybe you call it a Summary and you describe what you're bringing to the table. I am not sure that customer service and tech support even has any executive level positions? is what you are looking for to be the manager of a support dept? If so, say so. You might be mixing up your Canadian terminology with American. Have an American in your industry to review your revised resume before submitting it.
Please use spell check on your resume before sending it to anyone else.
Your experience *should* speak for itself, but when there are sloppy spellings, etc. in a resume, an employer is going to ask, where else is her attention to detail lax?
Question: how do I stand out at an interview for a call center/helpdesk? This is for a temp to hire postion. my resume is below. this is not in word doc but look correct that way as far as spacing.

Answer: Easy---
The focal point of your job on the helpdesk is to satisfy that customer by any means necessary. You might not have the right answer at the right time. But, inform your interviewer that your primary purpose is to GET that answer for that customer, no matter what.
Always be informative to that customer. Be honest...even when you lie...to that customer.
ALWAYS be courteous and friendly...even when you don't feel like it.
The customer is the company's bread n butter; thus, it is YOUR bread n butter.
If you demonstrate this to that interviewer, you will get that job, even if other candidates know more than you.
