Question: Can an information systems Engineer eventually move to Industrial Engineering or Business Administration? Hello,
I have a degree in information systems engineering, but for the future I'm planning to move to business administration or project management (not related to software). Is this possible for a person with my university degree? The only strategy I'm planning until now is to get an MBA and also apply for managment positions within my company. Currently I work at Dell which is a very open company and people can move through positions if they show the competence for it.
Best Regards
Answer: well it depends on how much experience you have in the industry and if you had any experience of taking charge of any works. Personally I think you have got a good chance especially if you are doing MBA.

Question: Systems Engineer? Pretty soon I'll be going to college (hopefully) but I have so many question about taking Computer Science as my major.....I want to know what things will I be doing in classes......are they difficult?? well I know nothing is easy but will it need the more time than any other thing I do??
Anyone studying the same major please respond or anyone who has had any experience with this please replay your comments will be highly appreciated.
Thank you!!
Answer: Well, every college is different, so your classes will vary depending on which college you choose. In the classes I have taken, I have learned several programming languages. Almost every class I have taken has taught computer theory at some level. At my school, the beginning courses focus mainly on learning how to program in Java. As you get into the middle level classes, my school begins to focus mainly on theory because they expect the students to already have learned the basic programming skills. At the advanced level, my school teaches classes on subjects such as designing software, compiler theory, and operating systems.
In my opinion, Computer Science classes are both difficult and time consuming. I spend a whole lot of time studying and doing homework (especially programming projects). However, Computer Science is a very rewarding field, if you are willing to devote your time to it. Overall, I'm glad that I chose the major I did.
If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you!

Question: Does anyone know what the annual salary of a Systems Engineer is in the states? Trying to decide if that would be a good career to study.
Answer: It depends on experience, skill and knowledge.
You can make anywhere between $40K - $120K. The top salaries are usually commanded by the guys with the most experience that can literally fix anything.
I will say this however, don't get into this job unless you really like tech. If you're in it for the money then you're making the wrong choice.
This is a job that requires you to be on call 24 hours a day and yes, you will get calls at 3am saying that there's a problem.
This is a job that requires you to learn constantly. You're always checking out what's new, what's hot and what you can implement to improve the processes. You're going to be reading up and studying very dry and boring information so that when asked a question you can give a good answer.
You will also be starting at the bottom. I'm talking help desk here where you'll answer the same calls day in, day out. It's really not a fun place to be. But if you show you're good and capable of working your way up then you might be able to move to a better position like deskside support and eventually up to Systems Administration.

Question: what would be the future of embeded systems engineer? Hai,,I completed my B.Tech and willing to do embeded systems course....how would be the future as a embeded systems engineer..Plz help me regarding projects and salaries to be expected
Answer: embedded systems is HOT HOT HOT. Embedded processors are everywhere. There are probably a hundred of them in your home. It has been hot for the last 20+ years and shows no signs of slowing down. I've been doing embedded systems work for > 16 yrs (not counting university) and have never had trouble finding work. My current contractors rate is $100 to $150/hr. My last salary was $130K+perks.
If you live in the bay area, go to the embedded systems conference (ESC WEST) in April and check it out.
Now: one word of caution. H1-b and L-1 visa abuse is rampant, as is offshoring... engineering salaries have been stagnant for a decade. Make sure you map out a career path for yourself before investing in an education.
Question: What is the going Rate for a Senior Systems Engineer in your City?
