Question: Radio Frequency ID? electrical engineering? I'm an electrical engineering student in my final year. I have to designing and building a something for my senior project. I orginally had an idea, but that didn't work out.
My current idea is to make a RFID-based proximity security system for use with ID cards that have RFID emmbedded in it. Design a RFID system to read the cards and grant access to some kind of locking system. I would like to implement this using minimal to zero amount of software programming. I'm not a programmer.
How do I go about designing something like this? Any suggestions, schematics, tips? Or webpages where i can find this information?
Thanks
Answer: I definitely think its possible, using CMOS counters or something. . For example, on the 8th count you could short out the antenna with a PIN diode. This will be sensed by the transmitting anteanna. You will need a battery in the receiver..
Or, makd several loop antennas with different resonant frequencies and scan across a band.
Question: Electronics engineers...Please help me design a radio frequency clock...? I need it for my mini project.. I have to design the circuit.. And I am planning to do the schematic in Pspice... please help me.. I would be very grateful..
Answer: maybe you'll get better answers at www.allaboutcircuits.com. I have some articles that tells you how to build a different kind of clocks. also you can try and build this propeller clock: http://www.bobblick.com/techref/projects…
Question: what is mean by radio frequency modulation? i want total details about communication engineering
Answer: Radio waves are a means of sending information. To do this, you need to "encode" information in the radio waves. How do you do this? Well, you change them. If the receiving unit (like a radio) understands what these changes mean, then it can "decode" that information and do something with it (like reproduce music).
Radio waves - like any other waves - have two main characteristics: amplitude and frequency. Think of waves of water on a pond. The amplitude is the height of the waves; the frequency is how fast those waves come one after another.
In Amplitude Modulation (AM) radio, the way that you encode information in the radio wave is by keeping the frequency of electromagnetic waves exactly the same and you change the amplitude. For instance, if the amplitude is x one moment, and then 2x the next, that means something, and an AM radio will know what it means (and turn it into some sound).
In Frequency Modulation (FM) radio, the way you encode information is to keep the amplitude of the radio waves exactly the same, but to vary the frequency. The way in which you vary their frequency tells the receiver something, and an FM radio will turn it into sound.
Question: Need a Help from electronics engineer or person who expert in radio communication.....!!? 1] how to draw a block diagram of VHF transceiver.....!! [ steps]
2] How image frequency rejection ratio is related to other parameters of a radio receiver...???
Answer: Googling for " VHF transceiver block diagram: quickly turned up http://www.radiometrix.co.uk/dsheets/uhx…
but without knowing what you are trying to accomplish it is hard to say what is appropriate.
In simple terms, image frequency rejection refers to the ability to ignore a signal that happens to be at a frequency "weak point" due to superhet topology. It is therefore a measure of interference rejection, similar to adjacent channel rejection in rating the quality of a receiver.
Question: Can anyone proof read my CV cover letter and recommend ur corrections? Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to ask to be considered for any jobs vacancies you may have in your organisation.
I recently earned my first bachelors degree in Mobile (Honours) Communication Technology with a 2nd upper class from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle.
My enclosed CV details my extensive experience as a radio frequency drive test engineer for 18 months, where I have participated in the radio frequency field surveys and coverage and benchmarking drive test for leading mobile giants in Sri Lanka. From the field experience I have earned the abilities of grasping complex technical data and communicating to a broad range of technical and non-technical disciplines.
In addition to my technical experience I have worked as a management trainee for almost 2 years in where I have gained experience in excellent communication skills, problem solving and time management skills. I feel that your company will offer me a great opportunity to develop my career at a more demanding and senior level and I feel enthusiastic about the opportunity of contributing to your continuing success.
I would welcome the chance to discuss the skills I can contribute to your company and I thank you for your time and consideration
Thanking you
Sincerely
Answer: i only read the first two paragraphs and seen spelling and grammar issues. do a spelling and grammar check (i am reading in the US, so it may be acceptable spellings overseas). there are also multiple punctuation errors.
the text and what you are saying is good, but you just gotta brush up on the grammar.
my only suggestion for the wording is to not make it so impersonal... it's like you are going to make 50 copies of this letter and send it out to everyone in the area- employers want to see that you know what positions they have, put in effort to customize the letter to the jobs/services they offer.
Question: I need an engineer to answer my question!? When RECIEVING radio of any given frequency ,what is the signifigance of a1/2 wavelength antenna in respect to an antenna of a LONGER or SHORTER wavelength? Also, what is the most efficient TRANSMISSION antenna in terms of wavelength , and WHY?.
Answer: its all relative
Question: HOe is the Course of RF after EC engineering ? Going on in Thane ? RF means Radio Frequency and its one course is runnig at thane Mumbai i want more information regarding that so if any one has it please share ity with me.
Thanking you
Answer: try to check on this site http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=hoe%20i…
Question: Any good books for RF engineering? Studying RF engineering and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on any RF design text book. Longley-Rice propagation, antenna design, wimax, etc. I'm looking for a good book on Radio Frequency studies.
Thanks
Answer: There must be dozens out there, but let me recommend just one which should be amongst your eventual library of many.
It's "RF Circuit Design" by Chris Bowick, published by Howard W. Sams, ISBN: 0-672-21868-2, Library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 81-85517.
You can almost certainly borrow it from you local public library to check if you like it.
Question: Unexplained Central Heating problem. Engineers can you help.? Worcester 28i installed Nov '06. Boiler in kitchen and transmitter in hallway. worked perfectly till now. No C/heating. Hot water OK. Worcester engineer attended and failed to rectify inspite of swapping several Transmitter and Reciever units. His comments" the signal is getting blocked" My reply to him" How can it be, the signal is not infra red ,it is radio frequency, and why did it work fine for over 12 months" He had no answer to the problem and I now have to site the transmitter in line of sight about 6 metres from the boiler to get central heating. Please any ideas or explanation regarding the problem. Would be very grateful for your help.
Answer: Have you added any electrical or electronic equipment lately? It seems that there is interference.
Question: What does the letter for military occupations signify? For example a Bravo vs a Foxtrot? Is there any rythm or reason?

When I was in, CMF 67 was aviation maintenance, N was UH-1's. Hence, 67N. After that was the level....1 was E-1 thru E-4, 2 was E-5, 3 was E-6. Also, there are identifiers afterward. My MOS was 67N2FA2....UH-1 helicopter repairer, E-5, on flight status, qualified safety NCO.
