Question: what does a manufacturing engineer do, does he design the process for manufacturing a product designed.? do manufacturing engineerss work with other engineers such as automotive , and design the manufacturing pocess of the product design by the engineer. what does a aerospace engineer do, does he only design and anylaze and does he have anything to do with the manufacturing process design
Answer: Performs engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production. Examines equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggests improvements. May have responsibility to carry out changes or monitor operations standards. Evaluates vendor proposals for new equipment purchases. Usually a journey level position requiring a 4 year degree plus 2-4 years relevant experience, or equivalent.
Question: I want to find a job that has me traveling internationally as a Manufacturing engineer? I have a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from a major university and have been in the workforce for 2 years. I am looking for a Manufacturing/Project/Process Engineer job that will require lots of international travel. How do I go about finding a job that would let me travel? Is there a website that has a listing of all these types of jobs that are now looking to hire? (I am not looking for a sales position).

Good Luck!
Question: I am a fresh graduate, should I apply for Manufacturing or Production or Process Engineer? How hard is it?
Answer: When you are first starting out, most of these jobs are the same. IMO, none are any harder or even hard than the others.
You'll need to read everything you can and take as many six-sigma lean courses that you can so you can become valuable ASAP.
Good luck!
Question: what field of study is usually used in Manufacturing Engineering? for Process? for Production? Please relate to computer and semiconductor manufacturing.
Answer: Mechanical eng. , & usually the mechanical power sub-speciality , for my college they have mech production as well which is dealing with designing production lines
Question: What is a better field for me to go in (mechanical engineer)? I am both interested in manufacturing(process) engineering and the thermal sciences. What is a more rewarding career, money wise and job outlook.
Answer: Neither, go get your Civil degree, get your PE and start a firm. Thats the way to make the money and not be chained to a desk making money for someone else.
Not to be a downer, but as a Mechanical you are destined to be rat-holed doing one thing at a company with little reward and increase in pay.
If you still want to choose between Manufacturing process field and thermal sciences, thermal sciences will pay better, but you will have a narrow job market if you should ever want to change jobs. As a manufactuing process engineer you will not have the pay, but more options as far as jobs go.
Look at where you want to be in 5-10 years and figure out what it will take to get there-
Gary
Question: What is Process capability analysis in manufacturing engineering?
Answer: It is a statistical analysis of the quality characteristics from a machine or process to determine whether the process is capable of maintaining acceptable quality. Often, a 30 piece study is done and the range of dimensions is tabulated and analyzed. The process capability is often called the Cpk.
Question: Manufacturing engineer interview question? what do you mean by overseeing manufacturing processes internal and external? I come across this in many job descriptions. Someone please explain me. MAny thanks in advance.
Answer: There are lots of ME positions.
Here are a few:
1) ME in Die Design - engineer what new die's will look like, where they will fit in the factory, deformation, material properties, et al.
2) ME in outsourced parts - Create specifications for third party vendors to create manufactured parts, create validation tests for finished products, et al.
Question: what is the role of manufacturing process in engineering?
Answer: It is the harvester of the fruits of an engineers imagination. Or it is the bane of an engineers frustration. Often it is a love/hate relationship. At the very least it is an open opportunity for a self correcting feedback loop.
Question: What is the job scope of Manufacturing Engineer in Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant?Starting pay is how much? what is the level of difficulty in terms of job scope for manufacturing engineer (ME) position comparing with other positions for examples like process integration (PI) or yield engineer ?
Answer: I worked in this capacity for a few years. The job consists of routine type activities and project type activities. The routine activities consist of trying to help technicians adjust and optimize the process on a day to day basis. This might include time adjustments or doing repeated particle checks to diagnose a problem. You'll learn how to do this as part of your training.
Projects include things like, trying variations in the process to decrease cost and/or improve die yield. This might include trying a different 'recipie' for a process (i.e. drying the wafers), making sure a new tool lives up to its manufacturers claims, trying different chemicals or chemical manufacturers, and so on. Once again, you'll have to be trained on the process before you can do the work.
Whatever you do, do NOT start as a "technician" doing engineering work with the understanding that you'll be promoted. Once you're pegged as a technician, you will do crap work for years, even as they hire less qualified people in higher positions. Intel and AMD both claim to promote internally, but it is a slow and political process that makes it easier for HR to hire from outside than promote internally. If you have a choice, photo-lithography is the area to be in. It is the hardest but has the most visibility. A 'Fab' (Fabrication facility) or MOS (?) revolves around how well the 'photo'/'litho' area functions. All other units support this area. (I worked in 'diffusion' and 'polish').
Another consideration: AMD seems to believe that ethics is something that should be considered, only if getting caught might be an issue. When I pointed out to the vice-president in charge of manufacturing that they might get in trouble for unethical things that were being done to the paychecks, his response was "I think we can get away with it". I tried to get the AMD IT department to help the police catch pedophiles who were pushing 'kiddie porn'. A couple months later I was let go in a "routine layoff" despite the fact that I was more qualified than anyone in my area and AMD's own numbers indicated that I was the most productive person in the area by a wide margin. (Most of the black people and half the hispanic people from my shift were laid off at the same time. Racism is a problem at AMD as well). I didn't work from Intel, but from what I've heard from friends who got jobs there, it is a good place to work. As a market leader, Intel tends to dominate as far as profits go too.
My base pay around 2002 was listed at around $48K annually if memory serves; but after shift differentials, bonuses, overtime, and so on I grossed around $65K. I've never worked in PI or yield engineering so I couldn't talk about these areas.
Question: In textile manufacturing is there a globel standard for characteristics and engineering process? I wish to learn about a software, or global standard that helps in reducing confusion in the design process to limit variation from customer expectations.
Answer: There are no global standards that are enforcable.
