Question: How do I find a good, reliable kitchen fitter in London? I know there are bodies such as the Guild of Master Craftsmen and that you should get recommendations, references etc from friends, but I am still cautious and wondered what tips there were for finding a good kitchen fitter as I have heard so many horror stories!
Answer: Guild of Master craftsmen is B00locks they would have let me join without inspecting my work as long as I paid the fees, to me It is the sign of a idiot.
Get a few quotes, thompson local or yellow pages, most kitchen fitters will be Qualifed in at least one trade so ask to see their papers e.g Carpentry & Joinery NVQ 3 or Corgi Gas reg number, ask how they dispose of the waste.
Pay by cheque, anyone who can start within the next 2 weeks is rubbish, I'm booked while the end of may and finished work at 8 tonight and will be working the whole Bank holiday
Question: What kind of food that makes you fitter and thiner? I want to diet since I'm overwighted. So I want to know what kind of food works the best for me. It would be great if they are healthy foods that makes you fitter.
Answer: I've tried this recipe, it really works!
It helps me loss thirty pounds, it's very healthy.
Following this recipe and make it for breakfast every morning.
You just need:
1 banana
1 cup of fresh water
Tell me when you've tried it.
Question: How do i become stronger and fitter? I need to know how to become stronger and fitter. I mean bigger all round, like arms, chest, legs. I'm really really skinny and get the piss taken out of me constantly for it. I'm 15 years old, 6 foot tall and weigh 121 pounds. I would preferably need to do it at home as i can't afford a gym membership. Really need help please.
Answer: Eat healthy and exercise.
Question: What exercises can i do to make me fitter? What exercises can i do each day to make me alot stronger and fitter, and have more muscke. Also, if you know what foods i could eat to make me a bit bigger and stronger, then please say, best answer will get the best answer points, thanks
Answer: Combination of weight training and cardio. You can subsitute the weight training with exercises using body weight for resistance, i.e., push-ups, pull-ups, squats, etc.
For cardio: run, bike, jump rope, work on a heavy bag, swim.
Resistance training and cardio combinations will always give the best results. Too many studies have been done proving this.
Question: Why do you become fitter when you exercise? I am running again everyday and I can cover more miles and hills quicker now than 3 weeks ago.
In the beginning I needed an ambulance LOL but now when I finish my run I want more.
I guess I have more stamina but what creates stamina and why do you become fitter with exercise?
Answer: Your body has the ability to adapt to physical stress. It's a defense mechanism, just like getting callouses on your hands or feet, it help protect you from harm. with cardio stamina, many things are going on, more blood is being sent to your lungs so the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide is more efficient. As well as you muscular endurance, the burning of sugars and oxygen become more efficient because you are able to get more oxygen to your muscles, when the balance between oxygen and sugar are not right you start burning more sugar than oxygen, when this happens your body produces lactic acid, this is a toxin that causes fatigue and makes you muscles burn.
Question: Where can I find a sample of the written test given for entrance into a pipe fitter's apprenticeship ? I need to see a sample of the kinds of questions that are on an entrance test for pipe fitter's apprenticeship programs. My fiancee' is a nervous "test taker", so having an idea of what to expect should be helpful in easing some his anxiety.
Answer: Reputable firms looking for apprentices generally use simple general knowledge questions to screen applicants.
A typical question would be: "A water tap is running. Which way should the bowl of the spoon be to give the least splash back; the bowl catching the water or the water deflected by the back of the bowl?
Similar questions generally are based on 'Multi-choice' answers which only require a tick,
What they are looking for is a guide to reasoning ability. They are not too bothered about academic qualifications as successful applicants will automatically be given 'Day Release' to attend a local College of Further Education' to follow a suitable City and Guilds Course.
My advice to 'nervous test takers' is to have faith in your own ability and it is not the end of the world to be rejected first time. Many university graduates apply for numerous posts before they finally land one. The main key is to be persistent.
I won't wish you the best of luck because you achieve that by believing in yourself.
Question: How do i go about moving abroad as a carpet fitter? I'm looking at moving abroad to continue my trade as a carpet fitter, now looks like australia is big on this but im wondering if there is anywhere else? and how i would go about finding work
Thanks
Answer: the best way to initially find work in your line of business is to enquire with already established companies. In the future ?? Who knows....
Question: How do I get fitter and stronger? I need to get fitter and stronger?
Answer: Eat better and exercise more.
Question: Can I become a stronger and fitter fighter, is it possible at home? I just want to know how to make body fitter and stronger for a fight. what makes a good fighter and how to do it. Im talking all round fighting, so i need to practice coordination and balance and stuff. I only got equipment at home, i have, boxing bag and gloves, adjustable dummbell weights that go up to 26kg, a bench press bar with only 26kg of weight and a skipping rope.
Im also 68kg and 5 11". Im 14 too.
Answer: No doubt.
I think Boxing and Kick Boxing are the most dangerous forms of fighting and best forms of training.
If you ever watch kick boxing, just the kicks to the leg would drop most people.
Don't lift too much weight as it might slow you down.
I would spend most of time working combinations and speed.
As they say on the football field, Speed kills.
Question: How would i find out what the top wage is for a fabricator/fitter welder? the hourly wage i am looking for is what is paid in edmonton AB for a journeyman welder /fitter
Answer: Confer with the workers union.
Question: why did my gas fitter say I needed no room thermostat? I have always had a room thermostat until I had a new combi boiler recently. As I like to keep my house at a temp of at least 12 to 15 degrees at night, I feel I need a stat. How easy is it to have one fitted? My calls to the fitter have been ignored so far and I feel that as he has had the big money from me, that he just doesnt want to be bothered with the small stuff.
Answer: Ring corgi and trading standards and report him, it has been regulation since 2003 that boilers MUST have a room thermostat as part of the benchmark/boiler interlock provision. If you look at the benchmark booklet for the boiler (either a blue and white a5 size book, or the last 2 pages of the installation manual) it doesnt give an option for not fitting a room stat, if he didnt leave these with you, this is also against regulations, put his name on here, that will get a message to him.
Question: how do i get fitter so i can run up the stairs without getting out of breath? im really unfit okay i can run up the stairs without getting out of breath but not much more than that. im not unhealthy or fat i just have no strength or stamina.
i want to get fitter what can i do?
i don't have loads of time to go to the gym or go out running
any ideas?
Answer: Cardio excercise, it really is as simple as that.
And there are no short cuts, and no way around it. You have to do some excercise.
Cardio exercise includes any form of excercise such as running/jogging/swimming/cycling etc that gets your heart rate pumping and you sweating and out of breath. It will not only burn calories and reduce your body fat levels, therefore making you 'slimmer' by having less fat on you, but will also improve your resting heart rate and lung function, making you healthier. And fitter.
If you cant get to a gym, just run up and down the stairs, go for a run around the block. There are ways, just put the effort in.
Question: Where can I find a reliable saddle fitter? Where could I find a saddle fitter in montana or colorado or wyoming?
Answer: I know a guy in Colorado, I 'think' he lives around the Denver area, maybe south.
He is the one I go to when I question a saddle fit on my guys.
If you need his info, let me know.
Other than that, the pickings is slim. I live in WY, and can't anyone reputable here. Good luck.
Question: Does anyone know how much it costs for a carpet fitter ? My daughter needs a carpet fitted in her living room and wants to know if anyone knows about how much it will cost her for a carpet fitter to do it? she lives in the North West, Wigan area, UK
Answer: It should cost around £3-00 per square metre fitted, so work out the room size and you won't be far away.
Question: Is there a way of getting better and fitter at running at home? is there techniques or exercises that you can do at home to get fitter in running at night, for example breathing exercises or muscle exercises. Just wandering because i have run for the kids in 2 weeks, and when im not training in the day i want to know if theres anything to do at night.
Answer: unless you have trouble breathing when you run, i don't know if any breathing techs would be that helpful. Drink a lot of water, and keep stretching while you are at home. the more limber and loose you are, the easier your runs will be. what i mean is your legs will feel much better
Question: What Are Foods I Can Eat To Make Me Fitter? I have two soccer teams that both drill me, schools coming up, and I want to know what foods can make my stamina longer lasting, make me fitter, and over all better.
(I AM NOT A BIG FRUIT/VEGETABLE PERSON)
ThankYou!
Answer: I will give you tips on what foods you should stay away from, and what foods you should eat more of.
CARBS:
Bad carbs are foods that have been “stripped” or processed in order to make cooking fast and easy, like white flour, refined sugar, and white rice. They digest so quickly that they cause dramatic elevations in blood sugar, which can lead to weight gain.
Good carbs can’t be digested as easily. This keeps your blood sugar and insulin levels from rising and falling too quickly, helping you get full quicker and feel fuller longer. Good sources of carbs include whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables, which also offer lots of additional health benefits, including heart disease and cancer prevention.
PROTEIN:
Boys ages 9 - 13 should have 34 grams of protein each day.
Boys ages 14 - 18 should have 52 grams of protein each day.
Boys ages 19 and up should have 56 grams of protein each day.
The problem with protein is the package it comes in. Most Americans rely on red meat products for their main protein source, but red meat contains a lot of unhealthy fat. Aim for protein sources that contain the highest amounts of protein with the lowest amount of saturated fat within a healthy serving (about the size of the palm of your hand.)
The bottom line: Pay attention to what comes along with the protein you’re consuming. Vegetable and fish sources of protein tend to be lower in saturated fat.
FATS:
To optimize your healthy diet, cut down on consumption of the bad fats and increase consumption of the good fats.
Good fats
Monounsaturated: canola, peanut, and olive oils; avocados; nuts and seeds.
Polyunsaturated: sunflower, corn, and soybean oils
Omega-3 essential fatty acids: fatty fish, walnuts, flax seeds and flax seed oil; beans
Bad fats
Saturated fats: Full-fat dairy products (butter, ice cream, cheese, cream); red or dark meat.
Trans fats: Commercial baked goods, fried foods, anything containing partially-hydrogenated oils
Damaged fats: Oils that have turned rancid from exposure to light, heat, or air; oils heated past their smoking points
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES:
Choose: Go for the brights: the deeper the color, the greater the concentration of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants - broccoli, kale, mustard greens, butternut squash and sweet potatoes are several excellent choices. For fruits, choose fresh or frozen, and focus on variety. Berries are cancer-fighting, apples provide fiber, oranges and mangos offer vitamin C, and so on.
Avoid: Fruit juices can contain up to 10 teaspoons of sugar per cup; avoid or dilute with water. Canned fruit often contains sugary syrup, and dried fruit, while an excellent source of fiber, can be high in calories. Avoid fried veggies or ones smothered in dressings or sauces – you may still get the vitamins, but you’ll be getting a lot of unhealthy fat and extra calories as well.
WHOLE GRAINS:
Choose: Dark breads, whole wheat, brown rice, oatmeal, barley, millet, toasted wheat cereals.
Avoid: Refined grains (breads, pastas, and breakfast cereals that are not specified as whole grain), “whole grain” cereals foods that also contain a lot of sugar (example: whole grain Cookie Crisp cereal).
HEALTHY FATS AND OILS:
Choose: Good choices include black beans, navy beans, garbanzos, and lentils; and nuts like almonds, walnuts, and pecans. Soy products like tofu are great for protein.
Avoid: Salted or sugary nuts; refried beans.
FISH, POULTRY, AND EGGS:
Choose: Lean, white meat; egg whites; fatty fish like mackerel, lake trout, herring, sardines, canned light tuna, catfish and wild salmon.
Avoid: fish that’s high in mercury such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish and albacore tuna.
SALTS:
Limit sodium to 2,300 mg per day – the equivalent to one teaspoon of salt. Processed foods like canned soups or frozen meals can contain hidden sodium that can quickly surpass this recommended amount. Many of us are unaware of how much sodium we are consuming in one day.
