Question: what major should i pick to become an engineer in the electrical field? after graduating college i will most likely join the electrical union but as an engineer. There job is to estimate the cost of the electrical project, the man power, etc... The problem is that i cant go to a different school and major in engineering bc of baseball and my school (the college of st rose) doesn't offer it. Is there any alternative majors that can help assist me in that field? Also, my current major is business admin with a concentration in human resources. Would that work? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated...
Answer: People major in one thing in college and do something different in the work force all the time. I'm and Electrical Engineer and Computer Programmer and one of the best programmers in our company has a Mechanical Engineering degree. The Business Admin with Human Resources isn't a bad route, but you should check with people and companies in this field and verify that you don't need (or must have) a technical/engineering degree. Keep in mind also that college doesn't teach you how to do any specific job. It's mainly a proving ground used to show that you can learn and a filter mechanism for company's to limit the number of candidates it has to consider for a job, if need be. Finally, try to get a co-op job or an internship. It will help you relate what college has to offer to the real world.
Question: Im an electrical apprentice and i want to know how to make entry into the electrical engineer field?
Answer: Being an electrician and a EE are very different. EEs use calculus and more advanced kinds of math, and need to understand much more complicated kinds of circuitry than you'd find even wiring a factory. It really requires a college degree.
If you're good at fine work, you might be able to get a technician's job working with EEs. That's not an apprenticeship, but gives you a good idea what the job really means. The company might also have education benefits to help you move forward.
Question: What are some major problems identified within the field of Electrical Engineering? I have to type up a one paragraph proposal that defines a problem within the Electrical Engineering field. Any resources for this answer would be helpful also.
Answer: Problems are :-
1. Poor Vendor Development
2.Rising cost of copper.
3.Power Crisis
4.Badly encroached upon by electronics.
5.Starts only after civil engeneers have done thier job.
6.Inadequate emphasis on wind power.
7.Corrupt SEBs
8.Nascent Regulatory Authorites
9.Poor support to industries.
10.Running on diesel traction.
11.Unsafe practices.
12.Last but not least, very poor infrastructure.
Question: What field of electrical engineering most relates to chemistry? and how does it relate to chemistry? What field of electrical engineering most relates to chemistry? and how does it relate to chemistry? THANKS!
Answer: the semiconductor industry.
chemistry is used to create the wafers that the engineers design
Question: What is the most promising field in Electrical Engineering? Weighing all the future innovations, number of jobs needed, and potential of each of these fields of electrical engineering, which would you say is best?:
Electronics
Communications
Automotive Electronics
Computer Engineering
Answer: Communications: With all the wireless devices these days (and they are not slowing down)... communications. Increasing data rates, and networked homes require efficient use of our fiber and airwaves.
Question: Do you have any friends working as electrical engineer in construction field could i get their number and name this will help my career. I am having 4 yrs exp in construction field as electrical engineer in Dubai. I want to switch over to Chennai. i need any people in this line.could i get their name, number or email id.it will be helpful for my career
Answer: You can email to ravinaconsulting@gmail.com they deal with these skills.
Question: How are you liking the field of electrical engineering? I'm looking into getting a job in electrical design. I know all the classes and such and am prepared to suffer through the pain in the *** requirements to get the degree, but I'm wanting to know if I'll like it in the end. So my question is, for those of you who have a job in the field, do you enjoy it? was it worth the time and hard work?
Answer: I'm currently in my 2nd year studying electrical engineering. The workload is very overwhelming at times. I worked for a Consulting firm in Toronto. I loved the job. The people I worked with all seemed to enjoy their jobs as well. I'm really hoping that it's going to be worth the time in the end.
Question: electrical engineer with 15 years of experience in the field electrical installaion asking for software prog.? I am an electrical engineer with 15 years of experience in the field electrical installaion trying to improve my skills in this field and keep updated with the last software program covering the field of power distribution, transformers, circuit breakers and lightings.
Answer: talk to colleagues in other companies. just think of a reason to phone someone up and then talk/ask what you what to know. Alternatively you could search for and join and internet discussion group on the subjects you are interested in.
Question: Question about the Electrical Engineering field? This is my 2nd year of college, 1st year I just did general ed, now I'm taking calculus for the summer and plan to complete my prerequisites for electrical engineering next year, but besides that, what else can a student like me do to get ahead in the field? maybe possibly find a job? (I'm thinking about taking an electronic technician course in the summer, which would license me to work as an electronic technician) But I'm not sure if this job is even related to electrical engineering?
Answer: I earned my EE from Iowa State University and as I was studing there, I met my husband who is a licensed electrician. I can tell you that I learned a lot from him when it came to the basics and how things added up. Electical circuitry in a house or business can give you an edge on the power side of EE too. You can also see if your college has a department that you can work at like I did that works with all the audio/visual things that classes use. We also have what is called ICNs (Iowa Communication Network) where people took classes in different towns and the signal was sent to one central location via satelite. Working there was very educational. Just keep your eyes open for things that spark your interest and you might find your EE calling from there! Good luck!
Question: How is Chemistry used in the field of Electrical Engineering? I'm hoping to study Electrical Engineering in college. Upon look at the curriculum, you're require to take several years of chemistry. I'd like to have some examples of how advanced chemistry will help you in electrical engineering.
Answer: Chemistry is used in battery fluid for preparung sulfuric acid, battery grade. It is also used in water analysis where the solids content of water is known by means of a conductivity meter. In a power plant, it is also important for an engineer to know the basics of water analysis and chemical solids such as calcium chlorides and calcium carbonates
