Question: Can i work as Construction Project Manager? If I cannot do any prolonged sitting/standing/walking, no overhead reaching or lifitng, and cannot lift over 50 pounds, could I do the work required for Construction Project Managers? I am in the process of completing a BS in this field.

Answer: I make about $30 / hour in the North East US. I think thats about $35-$38 Canadian.

Answer: Dear friend, In my opinion, the difference between the two is as under:- The construction manager has to be in direct touch with work on site whereas the project manager mostly remains in his office. The construction manager report to the Project Manager. Project Manager, at times takes round in order to very the progress of the work. As regards earnings, to my mind, the person who is in direct touch with the work on site gets more in comparison to the one sitting in the office.

Project management happens in many fields, such as technology development, medical research, and so on, not just construction. Probably you should take construction management. Answer: In general, the title Project manager implies managerial responsibility for all aspects of a project. The Construction manager would have managerial responsibility for a portion of a project that require civil, structural and mechanical trade work performed, for example, a building. The position reports to the Project manager. The project engineers responsibilities include review of the work and materials for compliance with the drawings and specifications for the project. This position is often filled by the originating design source and is on site during the course of the project. This position also reports to the project manager. A project engineer position can also be responsible for the design, testing and building of equipment or processes and is essentially the project manager.
