Answer: I would recommend Traffic Engineering. You could do a project on what times a busy intersection or stretch of road becomes congested and at what traffic flow rates/volumes, or how many people actually stop at STOP signs at different intersection types, or how many pedestrians cross against the light at a signalized intersection, or lots of other cool things that you could study outside in the field.

Question: Anyone know of companies in Mexico who are hiring Engineers? i am a Manufacturing Engineer in the automotive industry with many years of experience in Quality Assurance as well. My wife is currently living and working in Mexico. I am in the process of moving to Mexico to be with her there and am in need of employment. I am currently studying Spanish and have been using Monster.com and other job search sites. I've also listed my resume' with companies that I am familiar with that have facilities in Mexico. Any help with contacts or suggestions for companies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Answer: It would help to know where you are headed in Mexico. I'm assuming your wife will want to stay at her current job and you will want to live in that location? If so, that certainly narrows your search!
Unfortunately, you will be competing against many very well-qualified Mexican citizens with excellent bilingual skills who are willing to work for Mexican wages. Most non-Mexican citizens who work in industry here (at least in Torreon, the city with which I am most familiar) are expats sent down for very specific jobs for very specific times and many have ten or twenty or even more years with the company BEFORE they are sent to Mexico.
Your best bet is to offer to work at the same wage rate as the Mexican citizens with the company to which you are applying and to stress some very specific job skills that you have that are lacking at that particular company. Hopefully you have at least 50% fluency in Spanish and also are familiar with the culture and history of Mexico (one of the biggest challenges for many foreign managers here is understanding the cultural differences and how that impacts everything from work attendance to meeting protocal).
Another great help would be to use any relationships that your wife may have established with her company to help you get employment either at her firm or at a firm related to that which employs her. Personal recommendations can make a huge difference in getting that door to crack open a bit wider for you.
I won't kid you.... this is not going to be easy and you will need to be persistent and realistic. But, if you are committed to moving, then you need to just keep doing the work, sending the resumes, making the phone calls, and.... most importantly... once you are in Mexico itself, making the face-to-face contacts that may help you get that job.

Answer: Good Question,I was asking myself the same thing..
Question: What kind of jobs can a MBA land me?? I have a BS in mechanical engineering from University of South Florida. I had been out of college for almost 4 years. I have been at the same location all of that time but will soon have worked for three major corporations. The place will have changed hands 3 times because of sells and acquisitions. I worked as a supervisor for about 1.5 years of that time and the rest as a process engineer. I also have some experience being a supervisor from working while in college I work all threw out college. I am starting a MBA program at Florida State this fall and wonder with my experience and the addition of this degree were I can go. I have been working for an electronics manufacturing plant in the automotive sector and I believe manufacturing in the U.S. is on its way out and I need to develop some new marketable skills. What are my options? Is the MBA a good ideal? The company will pay for the MBA.
Answer: If the company is willing to pay for the MBA, and you are willing to do the work then I would highly recommend it. An MBA is not going to get you a specific position in a company, but it does set you apart from others that are applying for positions whether it is with the company you are with today or another company. You will learn allot of good transferable skills in the MBA program which you will find even more useful if you try and move away from the manufacturing sector. I would highly recommend that you go for it!

Our in-depth understanding and informed predictions of developments in China enable us to optimize the strategies we develop to take advantage immediately of daily changes to the internet climate in China.
Answer: Join all the social networks that you can and let people know where you website is. The other is to send out press releases letting people know what you do and website address. Next place free classified ads (search yahoo and google) in the appropriate areas. Make sure that your site has content and helpful information, write articles and submit them as well. Optimize you website with keywords for your business or niche. Get a Ad Blaster and use that several times a day along with different pages of your website and that will raise your rank with alexa. Manually submit your URL to the Major search engines after you optimize. Look for allied business and then link with them.
