Answer: i dont think you need any qualifications and am pretty sure training is on the job

Question: How many hours a teaching assistant has to teach independently in classes? Is it difficult to be a teaching assistant if you don't know the subject completely? Is it possible to catch up in process?

Answer: Depends on how comfortable you are with making mistakes and not letting it show to the students. Teaching independently amounts to many many hours beyond the class period (this past week I spend six hours preparing lectures and reading material to be discussed in class, and twelve hours grading exams and essays). I have taught classes I wasn't thoroughly up in expertise-wise, and generally it gets easier if you prepare early and read outside of general books on the subject.

Question: What i do after taking the Teaching Assistant Certification test? I wanted to be a teaching assistant so i toke the teaching assistant certification test and now i don't know what to do next. Can i go right to applying for a job as a teaching assistant? at a board of ed school?

Question: How do I get a teaching assistant job with Houston independent school district? Ok so it seems like I have been applying for a teaching assistant job at HISD forever. I have just recently finished my bachelors. I have faxed my resume, called schools to check on my application and everytime i get an answer that they have already picked someone. Do they only select people on "connection" basis. if anyone who is already a teaching assistant at HISD can you please share how you got the job and what should I do?

Answer: The best way to get a job at HISD is to hand-deliver your resume to their Human Resources department. When you get there, ask them who you can call to follow up. Get a name. Then call in about a week and ask for that specific person.

Question: Where is the best place to look for Teaching Assistant positions in Macclesfield? Although I do not have any Teaching Assistant qualifications, I am studying for a Masters in Education. I hope this will be enough. I would like to work in the Macclesfield area, but would consider areas outside Macclesfield. Answer: Where I live the local council has a weekly/monthly job circular for all education jobs in their schools. You could try there. Alternatively the Job Centre might have some or the teaching websites. The education supplement of the newspaper. Just a few ideas.

Question: How do i become a teaching assistant? I would love to start a career in teaching, and am interested in starting as a classroom assistant. Do i need to have experience? How do i get it if i do? I've also heard that there are some teaching assistant courses. Do i need to do them before i can get a job? Or can i do it through work? How do i apply?

Answer: most TA's are internships, and you'll have to go through your college to apply.

Question: What online course is best to become a teaching assistant? I want to become a teaching assistant but cant afford to go to college to study so would ideally like ot do a learn at home course if poss. I found one online but it says equivalent to NVQ2, would this be enough to become a teaching assistant? I only want to do one that will take me a year to complete if poss and as cheaply as poss.

Question: Is teaching undergraduate courses as a graduate assistant hard and stressful? I need advice! I am very scared and nervous after just finding out I have to be a teaching assistant to get my master's degree. I don't feel I would be any good getting up in front of a class and teaching effectively all by myself!

Answer: This will probably vary from school to school, and program to program, and even major to major, but the classes where I was a TA were the discussion sessions. As in, the professor taught the main class, which was a large lecture, and then the TAs helped by leading the smaller discussion sections where you answered homework questions, helped kids that did not understand something from the main lecture, or I also led some lab classes. My suggestion is to ask in the department exactly what your responsibilities would be!

Question: How do I write a cover letter for a teaching assistant position? There is a job opening for a pre school teaching assistant position, but I don't know what to say in the cover letter. I've worked in an office for the past two years. I have no formal work experience with children, but i've helped raise a lot of my cousins. I'm a psychology major. Answer: The format for a cover letter is standard. Your letter should conform to acceptable business practice. The first paragraph of the letter should establish: Why you are writing. What position you are applying for. And how you found out about the position. The second paragraph provides you the opportunity to match your unique skills and abilities with those required for the position. You need to direct the employer to your resume and then state those assets that do not appear on your resume but that qualify you for the position. The third paragraph is your closing paragraph. It states your appreciation for the employer’s time and consideration, and when you will contact him or her to set up an appointment.
