Question: Continuing Education? How many hours of continuing education is a childcare provider(either family or group child care provider) required to complete each year in the sate of Wisconsin?
Answer: i don't know..try to look on http://www.google.com/ it's help
Question: Can you do a Continuing Education degree program on the side? If you're working on a graduate degree (MA), can you do a Continuing Education degree program, at a different university, on the side? I've taken some classes during my summers off, and I learned that I only need 6 more classes to actually graduate. Even though it's a completely different degree, and I'm not planning on using it for anything, will this help or hurt my chances when applying to a PhD program? The PhD will be in the field that my MA is in.
Answer: It shouldn't hurt. On the contrary, I think it will help you get into the Ph.D. program if you were to include that on your application. It shows that you re a hard worker to have worked on two degrees at the same time, and it also shows some real commitment towards your academics. These are what universities are looking for when considering Ph.D. applicants. The only minor thing that I'm worried about is - Are you actually permitted by the university where you re currently doing your M.A. to enroll with another university, or do they have some kind of rule against enrolling with other universities while being a student of their college? If they don't have anything against you enrolling with another university while simultaneously pursuing one of their courses as well, then you got nothing to worry. Good luck!
Question: Why do you think continuing education is so important? You have completed your medical assisting program of study and have passed the testing necessary for either certification or registration. Both accrediting agencies require continuing education units to maintain your level of professionalism. Why do you think continuing education is so important?
Answer: Because technology and knowledge continue to evolve and grow. It's important in certain career fields, especially within the medical community, to be aware of that latest technology/knowledge.
Formally requiring continuing education ensures that the recipients of your work are rightfully benefiting from what is now known, and they're not being treated on antiquated or improper knowledge.
Question: What is the difference between certificates and continuing education classes?? I attend a community college district that offers the usual Associates degrees... the first two years of school.
However, they also offer certificates and continuing education.
My sister is dead set on me taking a continuing education course in electrocardiography because she claims I can find a job in the hospital just performing those functions.
What gives with these continuing education classes? Who are they for? Would I be better off just getting a cerftificate or degree? Do EKG (ECG) Techs perform alone, or is it just one of the tasks of a medical assistant??
Thanks!
Do you need experience or a certificate to be an EKG tech? What does it take?
Answer: A certificate will allow you to perform specfic jobs, but you will not be able to get an actual college credit towards your associate, bachlor, etc. EKG tech usually work in a large or small room surround by lots of heart monitors, which the tech is requiired to notify the nursing staff of any abnormal heart rythmns, or they perform bedside EKGs for patients suspected of having heart attacks, or any various heart disease. Being that EKGs are a simple to perform task, most any health care professionl will qualify to do the job.
In a nut shell, cerfificates are a short term solution while still working on your long term goals.
Question: Continuing education: for completing degree or to take classes beyond one major? Which is it for? I'm trying to contact this university's continuing ed department and they are impossible to reach! I've emailed and everything weeks ago! I keep calling to no avail!
My question is this: I want to take one class! Just one! I already have a BA so do I have to reaply as a second major to get admission to that department or do I go through continuing education? No one is answering this and the deadline is Oct. 1 for Spring semester!
Help!
Answer: If you just want to take one class, then I would think going through continuing education. Universities generally don't accept students into the school for just one class. They'd want you to pay full tuition. By taking one class through continuing education, it'd be cheaper. Good luck!
Question: Where is the best place to get chiropractic continuing education online? I want to get some continuing education online. Are there any good sites (free or pay) where I can do this?
Answer: To my knowledge you can't do it online.
You need to contact the State Health board licensing office for Chiropractors, or the State Chiropractic association. They have lists online of when and where seminars are.
Question: How do I go by continuing education in a different field? I have an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Information Systems (Administrative Assistant), how do I go by continuing education in a different field e.g. Radiologic Technology?
Answer: contact the college you attended, or the college you want to attend. You need to get an appointment with either an advisor in that dept, or an admissions person. They will tell you all the requirements that need to be fullfilled
good luck
Question: Should I list my future intentions for continuing education on my resume? Should I list it on my resume or in my cover letter? Is that seen as a positive or a negative? I am interested in investing in my continuing education and want to know if that is something I should list in my credentials as I submit them to potential employers.
Answer: I think if you want to you should do it in the cover letter in like one sentence. The resume is usually for recent events or stuff that has happened already.

Question: What foreign universities offer summer adult continuing education courses? Oxford University offers "The Oxford Experience", a summer continuing education program that additionally provides the opportunity to "experience" a world renowned university. What similar programs exist in other countries with other major universities?
Answer: There are actually a lot. The one you pick depends on your interests.
For example, Charles University in Prague offers a variety of summer programs. You can study Czech language, Czech culture, etc. Jagellonian University in Krakow offers Polish and other programs.
In addition, many US universities, and even some community colleges, offer summer programs abroad. Check out those at New York University, Fordham, even SUNY Orange. Those may also be a resource.
