Question: What is the difference between consultant and advisor? Should an expert in obtaining national and EU grants be called "grant consultant", "grant advisor", "consultant in grant funding" or "advisor in grant funding". What is the difference between advisor and consultant anyway?

Answer: Advisor - identifies your options and does not recommend what you should do Consultant - you present them with a scenario and they recommend and usually work on the best solution to solve eg your business IT problems. Also, as someone else said, consultants get more money, mainly because they are much more liable to being persued by their clients for giving the wrong advice and carrying through the work.

Answer: I recently graduated from college- in a degree program where the dean of the program authored about 5 books on ERP and ERP implementation. He also brought in multiple guests that were pioneers of the industry to speak. The best idea I can give you is to fully understand what ERP is, why it is important, and how to use a system effectively. I put "a" system b/c every company has their own proprietary system. Therefore, since they are all different, you must learn your system. To specifically answer your question, the main requirement is experience. You must show that you can handle a task this large; and it is large. It is not just software you will be faced with----PEOPLE. People generally don't like change. Question: I am a self employed consultant. How much of my income should I be setting aside to cover my Fed taxes? 28%? I am now a self employed consultant as of last week. I filled out a w9 form for my customer. How much of my income should I be setting aside to cover my Federal taxes? I also live in Massachusetts, and we have a 5% State Tax as well, so that must be added to the amount as well. Does anyone know the average percent that I should be setting aside? Answer: 15% for self-employment taxes. 5% for Massachusetts taxes. For federal income taxes, whatever your tax bracket is (may be anywhere from 10% to 28%). Then add it all.

Question: What do you tell a recruitment consultant when you are asked if you are registered with any other consultancy? I would have thought you should tell them that you have but not disclose their identities. Telling them that you have could create a competitive atmosphere which could work to your advantage and not disclosing the other consultants' identity will not put the consultant you are talking to, on the back foot, if the other consultants' are more established and capable. Am I right or wrong?
