Answer: Go to the Grand Army Plaza Library in Brooklyn, ask for the Civil Service books. They have a whole section of previous exams with answers. The test is about reading passages that are based upon MTA rules and answering questions.

Answer: There is no such website. Many agencies use different kinds of tests, or have designed their own testing process. You'll probably have to take a written test, typing test, oral interview, polygraph, and psych eval. If you get the job offer they will do an extensive background investigation and drug screening.

Answer: In this type of test, they just want to be sure that you can do simple tasks such as read well enough to follow written operation instructions, have math enough to do routine quality measurements, and enough common sense to get around day-to-day difficulties. If high school was too tough for you, then you are probably going to be hard pressed to improve enough now.

Question: How long does it take to get hired as a 911 operator? My husband is going through the process of trying to get hired as a 911 operator.....he just took the test for it. How long after that does it take to get hired? 2 or 3 months?

Answer: Hopefully you're viewing it as a career, not a job to make money while you finish school. The 911 profession needs dedicated long term employees, not short timers. This isn't a job like waitressing where you'll get a few days of training and be on your own. Training will take several months of hard work. Also, you may want to look into how the schedule works at that 911 center if you haven't already. A school schedule will almost always take a backseat to your work hours. To answer your question the Criticall test is basically a multitasking test. It tests your abilities in a simulated dispatch environment. This test is copyrighted and there is no practicing it before taking it.
