Question: what is the average salary of a piping designer in madrid, spain? i have 3 years experience as a piping designer. i would like to have an idea on the average salary in madrid.
how about the tax? cost of living there?
Thanks!
Answer: The average cost of living in Spain is explained here.
http://www.expatforum.com/articles/cost-of-living/cost-of-living-in-spain.html
I lived in Europe for 24 years, so I would say that a piping designer would make about $2,000 a month in Spain probably.
Question: list of pipe support cad designer jobs? Contract to perm positions
Answer: Try Monster dot com. Look for jobs in Engineering, the drafting type and cad work usually falls into that catagory.
Question: Can I find a job that is right for me? OK, here's the situation. I just turned 38 and I have not really made much of myself professionally. I have a degree in art, but have never worked as an illustrator or graphic designer, which is what I want to do. Instead, I've been stuck in dead-end retail or customer service jobs (including a 12 year long stint as the night clerk at a truck stop motel) and I feel like I can't make that leap or shift in reality to get me to a job where I at least don't dread going to work each morning. I am happily married and have 2 children and I can't afford to work entry level jobs that pay peanuts - I have a family to support.
I'm feeling kind of desperate and that there might not be any hope. Can I find that job that allows me to use the skills I have and enjoy it, or is it just a pipe dream?
Answer: Well, i could understand where you're coming from, just to tell you that, being a graphic designer or illustrator or whatever you wanna call it, it's NOT AN EASY JOB! The people who are in this line are usually in Media/ Advertising/ Publishing or the Fashion industry. I know, cause i'm in the publishing company right now.
If you think you could work with tight deadlines and power crazy bosses,as well as demanding monsters ( which i kindly refer to as my clients) then it will be your cup of tea!~ or else you end up most times 'drained out' which always happen after continuos working hours of 30-48 hrs NON-STOP!!
I'm not joking, and the only leisure that you'll get is to catch your sleep ( and i'm not talking about having some spare time to chill out).
And being 38, and wanting to join this industry is not gonna be easy, why? because, there are tons of fresh grads that are eager to compete in showing thier creativity.
Well, sometimes thinking out of the box will help you to differ from among the rest! and as i've said, not only should you possess the creativity, you should aalways equipped yourself with the latest pc design technology like MAC Design/ Adobe Illustrator/In-Design and other Pit-Stop Applications.
No doubt the pay is gonna be good , but you'll require a great deal of commitment due to the nature of the job.
I wish you all the best, and hope you'll get what you truly desire!
Question: about ban in uae for employment visa.? hai,
I am working in Uae-dubai my visa dubai employment visa. last 15 days i am working here. now, if i get any new job in uae from other employers ,that time if i do cancelled the visa, any ban it will come to me. Again can i join at uae in other employment.I am working as a piping designer.I am an indian.if i get ban that ban how many months. and also Again can i come in employment visa or visit visa immediately.pls. clarify.
Answer: I would like to help you out.
What kind of visa do you have right now?
What kind of contract did you sign? A limited one or unlimited?
If you signed a limited contract you have to fulfill your time or you have to face at least a six months ban.
If you have signed an unlimited contract you have at least to stay minimum one year with you current company before you can think about taking a new offer. After staying with your current company for at least one year you can resign by giving a 30 days notice. BUT - you do need a NOC to transfer sponsership. Without a NOC you will get a at least six months ban. This six months ban can be avoided by paying a fee. The amount of the fee depends on your job description.
Take care and all the best.
Question: Perhaps I'm breaking the rules but, I could use a hand from my yahoo friends.? I recently developed a home appliance for the home water piping system. It will detect a leak anywhere in the home in a matter of seconds, and shut the water off, and protect from damage and loss of personal goods. I am a designer and know nothing about sales and marketing. After contacting these firms I find that it could cost more than the developement cost to survey and determine the market base. Here's what I'm asking:
1- do you think this is a worth while device to have in your home?
2- if you could save a few bucks on your home owners insurance policy, would you consider it worth while?
3- the cost is less than the cost of replacing carpet in one room. Is this a reasonable price?
4- there are no batteries, remote sensors or any other devices required to maintain or service. If the power to your home fails, it turns the water off, because the furnace will not operate and the plumbing system could freeze. If you need water , a manual by-pass feature is provided.
thank you
Answer: 1 yes but not very essential
2 could be but you would have to get the insurance companies to agree to lower rates for this device. They HATE to lower rates
3 sound too high to me
4 no question here just a sales pitch.
Question: which central heating radiator can I install? I have moved in an old house, where radiators and boiler and thermostat all needs to be replaced. Basically everything but the pipes leading to radiators will be replaced. The type of currently installed radiators apparently called Double Convector Radiator. I wanted to install some designer radiators - flat panel or tube or column or vertical ones - actually wanted to instal different ones in different rooms - depending on the style of the room. But there ar so many different types ofthe radiators on the market, (I looked on the ebay - and there are some very nice ones being sold) And I am afraid to buy ones that would not fit the system. Any advise please?
Answer: Part of a vendor's job is to fit the item. You do this when you purchase a pair of shoes. The cost of correct sizing is included in the seller's cost of doing business. So even if you don't inquire about the correct size, model, type, etc. you are paying for the service/expertise of fitting anyway. So, take advantage of what is standard.
Select the vendor and put the responsibility on him to fit/size the radiators of your choice. The seller will inform you of any particulars and information he needs AND he will tell you how to get the information he needs to make the installation (assuming that a representative does not visit your home to verify correctness of fit.).
Question: How would you solve this? What method(s) would you use to solve this problem? And in the future, how would I determine how to solve problems like this one?
A water main for a street is being laid using a particular kind of pipe that comes in either 18-foot sections or 20-foot sections. The designer has determined that the water main would requre 14 fewer sections of 20-foot pipe than if 18-foot sections were used. Find the total length of the water main.
Answer: Let n be the number of 18-foot sections.
Then n - 14 is the number of 20-foot sections.
n 18-foot sections gives the same length as n - 14 20-foot sections.
18n = 20(n - 14)
18n = 20n - 280
-2n = - 280
n = 140
140(18) = 2520
And this is the same distance as (140 - 14)(20)
Question: when is the right time? ive been watching alot of pregnancy shows and it has got me thinking. my husband and i have talked about having more children and decided that if we did, it would be years from now, if ever. but after watching these shows, i kind of want another soon
just a quick sypnosis of our lives: we have a 22 month little boy and i am a stay at home mom. my husband makes $30/hr, he is a piping designer. we are both 21. we are in the process of buying our first house, which is 3 bedrooms, 2 bath. he will get his degree in a few months, which means that he will get a $15-$20 raise. i am not in college but was panning on going when my son started school.
do you think its more important for me to go to college as opposed to having more children? or do you think that its just these shows that im watching?
we have a very happy marriage...we have been married for 3 years. divorce is not something we talk about.
i know what i want to go to college for- fashion design and cosmetology
if you feel the need to make negative comments about my grammar then please save yourself from the stress of it. all it shows is that you are jealous and small. and i guarantee that i am in a much better place than you so please dont even go there.
Answer: I think regarless what you think about or see, you have to follow your heart and make sure that is what you want.
Good Luck!

Question: How much to live in Orange County, CA? I live in Texas now, but I want to move to Cali. I'm 23, single, and have a good career path as a Pipe Designer in the Petrochemical Engineering industry. I wanting to move to California and my preferred destination is Orange County. How much would I have to make to live in a decent neighborhood, in a 1 bedroom apartment? My only bills other than the essentials are a 200 dollar car payment, and 100 dollar credit card payment.
BTW, I love the beach so the closer to the beach the better. And what city would you recommend?
I do also know that I will have to pay at least 1000-1200 for a 1 bedroom apartment if I want to live in a decent area. I'm hoping to make over 50,000+ when I move there.
Chuckles-I'm not exactly an engineer. I have an associates in mechanical drafting. I'm a Pipe Designer. I've checked with Fluor and their supposedly on a hiring freeze. I've tried to get on with the Houston office also, but no luck. I think I could even do some normal drafting and make 50,000+ but my career is in pipe design and I'd hate to shy away from that because I need to get the experience. I have over 2.5 years exp. in Pipe Design/Drafting. I didn't even know that Cali was a place in South America...haha, I'll be sure to call Cali, California when I move down there. I don't necessarily need to live in the OC, but if it was close enough where I get a job I'd like to live there.
Answer: As an engineer you have some hope of getting a job here. Check with Flour as they have a big office on Orange County.
I am an electronics engineer and I work in Lake Forest and like in a somewhat down market area in Costa Mesa. I pay $1220 a month for a small 2 bedroom 1 bath place, about 800 sq. ft. with a single garage and a small year. I make about $90K and I don't know how some other people make it. Mund you I have a daughter in grad school (civil engineering) who costs me a bit.
I suggest going on www.monster.com like I did and line up 2 to 4 job interviews over a period of a few days. Then fly out here for them. I did 3 interviews in 3 days. I got a call back from one of them about a week after I went back and have been here since 2001.
There is quite a bit of oil business going on here but most of it is in Long Beach and the southernmost part of the city of LA. Too far to commute from any part of the OC except maybe for Seal Beach.
Better areas like Mission Viejo are like $1700 a month for a nice 1 bedroom apartment. However I have to warn you that the OC is not an easy place to meet single people.
And do note that people here will frown at you if you call the place Cali. Cali is a city in South America, the center of the drug trade.
And outside of housing, gas is a little more expensive. The rest is about the same cost as in Texas. A young person can do OK here on $50K a year
